sure and i guess u have played d1 basketball , coached in the nba , played a little pro ball over seas , lol, ive been playin basketball for 20 years , nothin spectacular , the ability to contribute at a high school level. i just dont see someone who lives off of takin low percentage shots for a living  as someone i would take as the first pick of a draft in which i had the choice of any player in the world !by the way you continue to start all ur post belittling someone about their knowledge of the game  to try to make urself sound like u know what ur talking about !

He is far and away the best player in the league.

Anyone suggesting Kobe is clueless and either hasn't watched this season or is living in the past. It's LeBron, and has been since about 08 give or take. Hating the guy has clouded peoples judgment and leaves them with an inability to think rationally or judge his game objectively. 

On top of that, acting like he can't close is a game is maybe even more absurd.

The past is the past. It's like suggesting Wizards Jordan was the best in the league because he had 6 rings despite clearly not playing at the same level as he was on the Bulls, nor even at a top 10 level. 

Kobe had one of his worst years, on high volume this year. Not only that, his defense took a big drop. 

LeBron right now, has 2 less game winners in the playoffs than Kobe does...FOR THEIR CAREERS. 5/12 vs 7/22 or something close for Kobe. 

LeBron closed 2 series last year with confidence....he went on a 10-0 run against the Celtics alone to close out the series. Against the Bulls he closed out 3 games (1 with Wade, the other two going on huge runs by himself).

He is the owner of one of the greatest playoff performances of all-time, droping 48 points on the Pistons and scoring 29 of his teams last 30 points, and 25 straight.

Sorry, no matter how much some of you idiots despise the guy, he's by far the best player in the league. 

At least say someone like Durant if you'd like to argue, NOT Kobe.

There is a lot of pressure on prince james to get it done this postseason if he shrinks again like he did in the finals P riley will definitely break up the big 3 and somebody will be gone. i do think that prince james is the best overall player in the league but u cant be nieve to the fact that he is just not as clutch as durant or even close to the mamba and thats not a perception that is the truth

u failed to point out that in both of his 2 finals he has stunk and underachieved due to the immense pressure and without ? miami should of beat dallas if it wasnt 4 prince james choking people need to stop trying to compare kobe and lebron= no comparison

Backed by nothing by conjecture and recency. The first half of the season Kobe was awful down the stretch of games. He would also routinely shoot his team out of games (all year). 

It's funny how people fail to acknowledge how important defense is and how valuable it is to have a guy who can effectively guard nearly all 5 positions at a high level. 

Can we stop acting like Kobe has done anything of note this season? He wasn't even close to the most clutch player in the league this year, nor was he even close to being the best player.

There was no pressure in his first finals appearance. He was freshly 22 years old, and no one thought they would beat Detroit let alone the Spurs. He also had the worst supporting cast to make the finals starting Pavlovic, Gibson, Z, and Gooden. 

This last year he didn't play well, but unfortunately, that's happened to plenty of superstars. Kobe won a ring averaging 15 ppg on 37% fg in the finals AND missing 2 games. The result? The team not missing a step and continuing the destroy the Pacers despite Kobe's absence. 

So LeBron is the best player, yet we can't compare the two? You sound like a little kid; either that, or someone completely incapable of using logic and objectivity. 

3 years ago would have been a nice debate; but nearly all of the basketball world has LeBron as the clear cut best player in the league, with Kobe someone around top 5, or 7. It's not a shame though, it's just idiotic to compare a player out of his prime to one in his prime. 

No one is arguing Kobe doesn't have the best career out of all current players...he does. But acting like something he did in 2000-2006 is relevant considering he's not even close to the same player, is stupid.

I agree with u that lebron is incredible but there will never ever ever ever ever be another kobe bean bryant aka the black mamba aka the lord of the rings Lebron proved in the finals last year that pressure bust pipes and he will never be a diamond

I'm not hating on Kobe's greatness. He's a top 10 player of all time. But acting like shit he did 10 years ago is somehow relevant now is dumb. Just like MJ wasn't the best player in the league when he was on the Wizards. He wasn't. This year is.....this year. And this year Kobe has NO argument for best player in the league. Glad to see you can't respond with something logical though; typical.

I'm still waiting as to why Kobe's performance throughout this season has him regarded as the best player in the league. No argument put fourth has given any credence to that.

Lakers got swept last year in the 2nd round by the same team the Heat lost to. You ignoring that on purpose?

By that logic, Wade was better than Kobe during his 81 point year and Parker was a better player than LeBron in 07. You really wanna go there?

lebron james is the best regular season player in the nba ..come game 6 and/or game 7 of the finals in the 4th quarter and you will see him play like shit and start throwing up bricks ..it happens all the time with lebron ..championship pressure he can not handle ..i love lebrons game but in those last few minutes of championship games i will take kobe every time ...lebron will never win a championship ..he cant deal with 4th quarter pressure

anyone suggesting Derek Rose isn't a true PG can safely be disregarded in this conversation... that is pure idiocy!  no NBA expert would ever support that claim, or do anything other than bash it!  even CP3 said Rose was the best PG in the league 2 years ago, and Rose has improved his game since then...

calling anyone other than Rose the best PG in the league is utter nonsense!  by the time his career is over, he will be on the short list of the greatest PGs of all time...
