This is pretty much a given. The Knicks are a mess from top to bottom. The Nets suck as well and no way he goes there not knowing how the new owner will run the franchise. LeBron doesn't like half the players on the Bulls and will not play under the shadow of Michael Jordan.
LeBron will sign for 3 years again with Cleveland. He knows the owner will shell out the money to at least compete. He knows they will have a chance when they get a new coach that will take advantage of their strengths instead of doing everything opposite of their strengths.
But win or lose LeBron will leave Cleveland after this 3 year extension. If he wins the fans will always adore him even when he leaves. If he doesn't win the fans will still appreciate him for giving it another try. He will still be younger than 30 and will have a better idea of the Knicks/Nets situations. Also LA might be a better option with an aging Kobe either retiring or taking a secondary role by then.
I am finished with the guy after he quit. And won't be a Cavs fan if Brown and/or LeBron are still there. Brown will be gone for sure but it's almost a certainty LeBron will be back. It just makes the most sense right now.

I live in Cleveland and agree that he signs a three year extension. He is going to wait until NJ gets the Brooklyn situation settled. He can then go to NY and play for is boy Jay-Z. This off season has several teams that can afford him but none are all that attractive. He does love attention and no doubt will meet with the teams and perhaps get a few free meals out of the deal.
Best news of all, Mike Brown will be fired by next Friday. He was Dan Gilbert's biggest mistake since buying the team. He needed to get and experienced head coach instead of a guy getting on the job training. He never figured it out and probably would have been fired in 2007 if LBJ didn't go nuts in the playoffs and take the team to the finals.

tzap00: You are right on about him meeting with other teams. He will take advantage of that. If it weren't for Dan Gilbert he wouldn't even consider staying in Cleveland.
I would blame Ferry for the Brown situation. The hire wasn't bad but he kept him too long. Last year he should've seen how he got outcoached by Van Gundy and how it was a big year with LeBron becoming a free agent. Should have fired Brown and come up with some type of draft strategy instead of drafting Christian Eyenga who had no shot at helping this year.

well at least you are talking some sense now... however, this still is wrong...
Brown NEEDED to be fired about 3 years into the Lebron era... he should have been told from the beginning this was a shortterm hire, unless he blew them away... he should have been told 3 or 4 years ago that it was time to make the change...
i realize Phil stepped right in and won in his first year with Jordan, but that team really had all the pieces in place, and Phil is Phil... unless the Cavs could have found another Phil, it is doubtful they could have won it in their first year, especially with that roster...
the entire problem is Cavs management... Ferry or whoever, does not understand what it takes to BUILD a winning team... he doesn't understand what that COMMITMENT involves...
look at the Celtics... same situation... doormat team with one All Star player... made a commitment, first by hiring Doc Rivers... and then by going out and spending the money to get two bigtime players to put next to Pierce... and on top of it all landing a frachise point guard in the draft... THAT is how you build a champsionship team, and what is worse is that just 3 years ago the Celtics were the worst team in the NBA, and the Cavs were pretty much exactly where they are now...
in terms of management, this is pretty much the biggest failure job we have ever seen in any sports franchise...
i still don't understand how you can not manage to put one single bonafied stud basketball player next to Lebron in a full 7 years... someone explain that to me, and explain how it is possible to suggest Lebron is the problem or is to blame...
who cares even if he DID quit... this team quit on him years ago...

LBJ said it best...."when you have had 4 or 5 bad games over the course of your career, it is easy for detractors, and those that want to criticize to do so"
The key here...is LBJ is human....and has had less bad games than any other active player in the league.
LBJ is Cleveland.....and if he was to leave...they will not have at least 15 to 25 less wins.

LeBron shares in a lot of the blame because up until now he always backed Mike Brown. He endorsed him and he was consulted in all the major player moves before they were made.
The Cavs have had the talent in the last 2 yrs to at least compete for it all. Especially this year. The main problems this year were Mike Brown's inability to run a system that used the team's strengths and LeBron's mysterious lack of trying after Game 3.
Game 3 was the only game LeBron came out completely focused. Didn't whine about fouls, didn't talk smack to the crowd, and came out shooting outside shots and driving to the bucket. No coincidence the Cavs kicked their ass that day. For whatever reasons he quit after that and did nothing of what he did in Game 3.
1st thing that is needed is to get a coach and GM that will use the strengths of the players better than what has been done. Coaching change has to happen. GM change is about 50/50.

LEBRON WOULD BE BETTER IF HE PLAYS NEXT TO WADE, THE NEWSPAPER WERE TALKING ABOUT THAT TODAY, AND THEY SAID THAT MIAMI HAVE THE MONEY TO RESING WADE, GET LEBRON AND ANOTHER GOOD PLAYER, THEY SAID THAT PAT RILEY IS GONNA INVITE HIM TO COME TO MIAMI SO THEY CAN TALK. IF THAT HAPPENS THERE IS NOT GONNA BE NOBODY THAT CAN STOP THE HEAT NEXT YEAR. I HOPE HE COME SO HE CAN GIVE MIAMI A CHANGE TO GO DEEP IN THE PLAYOFF NEXT SEASON. GL IN WHATEVER TEAM HE DECIDE TO PLAY.

He's not going to Miami. Won't share the spotlight with Wade and won't have the influence over Pat Riley.
Some teams make sense basketball wise. But it's about ego, control, and ass kissing with LeBron right now.
He will make the tour and have plenty of teams kissing his ass. His camp will leak false rumors and when it's said and done he will re-sign with Cleveland for 3 yrs.

this, to me, is the one and only argument that people can use to put some of the blame on Lebron... from what i've heard, he was the one who wanted to bring in Shaq, and he supported Mike Brown...
but to that, i would say... Lebron isn't the GM... he shouldn't be making GM decisions... the guy doesn't even have a fucking high school degree... let Lebron plaly basketball...
just another sign of weak management, if you ask me...

Weak management?? You don't listen to him and he leaves and your ass as the GM is out on the street.
Kobe, Jordan, LeBron, etc. Once they get to a certain level they have everyone handcuffed. You have to listen to him to a point because your employment and team value depends on him.
I'm not saying it's right. I'm just telling you how it is.
