Yes, cavs getting to redeem themselves after that home opener/stinker is a very strong psychological angle (imo). Good luck, Mak.
Love that wording, psychological angle, Mak is so gonna steal that for next time, and like Sir Elton, I hope you don't mind :)
I agree, 2nd game, no hoopla, no concert with Kendrick Lamar and Imagine Dragons, nothing but 10 guys on a floor and a spalding basketball...oh yea and a sold out crowd. BOL today.

Thanks as always JB, man I am a lazy person, I have friend requests from 2 years ago, I hate how I have to press each individual person and accept them, I wish there was a way to accept all requests at the same time, something covers should think about. My goal is to get through them by this coming weekend. Will do it for sure JB, GL with your plays today, hope we kill em.
haha, im sure u have many requests... Regarding anthony davis... man that kid is a beast... as you said will be one of the best forwards provided no injuries... If he gained a little muscle and size, he will be a straight up beast.

Thanks bulls, not really though but I appreciate the comment, picking up a unit is kinda lame, I just wanted to test out the ol' abilities at picking props, may decide to add that to the repertoire this year, although I do believe that props are more of a sucker bet than teasers in many ways. Wish you the best of luck DJC.

I think you are 100% on point on this CLE game Mak -- even if New Orleans presents some interesting matchup problems potentially for Cleveland, I think they have the clear emotional edge for their second home game of the year. We can't just ignore CLE's dominance at home with LeBron historically, but I wonder if the weight loss in the off season hurt him. I don't think it did, but its something that has to be thought about at least as he looks to be at least 15 lbs of muscle lighter. I do think a lot of LeBron's early season efforts will be what he tries to use as teaching moments for this young and inexperienced team. I think he is smart enough now to understand that the process is just as important as the outcome, so he'll take some early lumps with this team to help them get better into the future (and not just this season -- he's definitely thinking 2-3 years down the line as well in terms of his sacrifice and respective investment in these young guys).

Totally agree with the Cavs pick, i think they win, blowout style. GL sir
If I remember correctly paradox, whenever both of us were on a Raps game together, it always won. Hope the same goes for this one, always a pleasure seeing your posts on my thread. GL to us on the Cavs and to you on your other wagers.

Mak -- if you are Doc, would you think about switching Blake and DeAndre on defense and having DeAndre guard Timmy while Blake chases Boris around screens and on the perimeter?

million dollars (over 4 fuckin years....crazy)"
Isn't it? Dude is a nice young player and all but is he eight figures nice? I'm not sure yet. This screams of a "don't know if we are all-in or not yet with this guy) move by the Jazz front office. I do like their "form" recently and let me tell you -- Gordon Hayward looks to be making a leap this year, both in his body and his game. Guy has big stones and is not afraid of the moment. Big game player who I think gets better in the moment.

Love should also be able to take Davis out from the post, and make room for cutting guards, who should be able to finish fairly easy without Davis' rim protection (yeah Asik is a decent rim protector too). If he don't go out with Love, Love should be poppin' 3's all day long. Especially on the left side of the court.
I love the Cavs pick, and with you on both that and the Spurs.
This is great thinking and very well what Cleveland's gameplan has to be tonight. If New Orleans wants to play both Asik and Davis, one of them has to guard Love out on the perimeter.

Good point, he could lure him out to the arc to free up space for cuts to the basket, but as you said, Asik is a very good rim protector. I guess it is still better than driving in the lane and seeing the beast that is The Brow.

Raps have been killing it, just haven't had the chance to watch many games of theirs, but it looks we totally need to start betting them again. GL to us today

Mak, i like the Cavs wager.I think Lebron steps it up and takes over the team.I really believe the Cavs need him to do that in order to string a few wins together.
Watched the Spurs game last week sometime and they just didn't look good. The Clippers looked even worse.Tonight may be all hands on deck for both teams to show they are still capable.Should be a great game.
Good luck dude
I also think he needs to play with a lot more passion than he has been playing. Tonight he won't have a choice, thus the wager.
I have to agree about the Spurs, they just do not look as good as they did in the playoffs, but with the minutes situation Pop has set and the loss of 3 rotation players, the Spurs aren't in trouble at all, they don't even need home court in the first to still have a chance to make it back to the finals, they will be ready when it counts. Tonight all I ask of them is to outplay the Clips and not go 0-6 ATS to start the season.

Honesty Raider, you are going to be really shocked by this, but I actually think the KNICKS WIN TONIGHT!! Can you believe that garbage? Never thought I would utter those words when they are playing the Hawks.
The home-and-home series started off with the Knicks playing very well against Atlanta, watching the game I actually saw a resemblance of what used to be the triangle offense...I was shocked! They played really well but in typical Knicks fashion they collapsed. I just have a feeling that the Knicks will want to exact some revenge tonight. I think Fish is the best new coach in the league really, Blatt and Shaw, not so much, but Fish is a good motivator and understand players. Once Jose and Bargnani get healthy and in the mix, I actually like the Knicks, but until then, I don't have a big enough pair in my pants to bet on them.
BOL on your plays today Pug.
I didn't watch the game but I did notice Horford and Milsap were only 6 for 24 in that game.

Of course THE Kap knows what I am talking about, I expected nothing less. And by the way he prefers to be known as the man formerly known as Chris Jackson.

Honestly Kap, I think you, like many others give James way way too much credit. He is honestly not that intelligent Kap, he will never be Michael because MJ was an intelligent thinker, he will never be the greatest of all time because of his mindset. I have never really heard or seen him take blame for anything on or off the court, he always believes he is correct in every aspect of the game and in life, there is no humility when it comes to James, none whatsoever, it is very disconcerting.
Look I could go on for hours about LeBron James, he and I have a love hate relationship. I love him when I back his team with a wager...all other times...I hate his guts, and you know that I am not like that other poster who probably only hated him because he lost money gambling on him, I hate him...just because he's the biggest tool I have ever seen in a big tool box that is the NBA.

Mak -- if you are Doc, would you think about switching Blake and DeAndre on defense and having DeAndre guard Timmy while Blake chases Boris around screens and on the perimeter?
Wow...f.u.c.k me sideways and call me Sandra. Of course that is what Doc Rivers will do....duh. Can't believe I missed that, honestly, that changes my perspective on the game quite a bit. My only hope is that it will keep Blake off the glass, but I would have preferred the rim-protector to be lured out to the arc rather than Blake. Blake has enough lateral quickness to stay with Boris. I don't see Diaw doing a lot of off-ball movement, but with the ball he is masterful for his size and girth. I just hope that Pop works his magic somehow. Down 10 points with 4:54 left in the game vs the Pelicans, he takes out the big three and inserts Baynes, Joseph and another bench player I can't remember. Those 3 actually brought them back within striking distance, it was another amazing trick Pop pulled out of his suit pocket. I am hoping tonight, the no-name role players will destroy the thin bench of the Clipps, but because of your analysis I no longer think the Spurs starters will outplay the Clipps starters. Here's hoping for a miracle by the Champs. Great stuff Kap...as always.

Burks is a solid young 2 guard, don't get me wrong, I love the kid's game. In the preseason he was lighting teams up, shooting the ball with pure precision...but, the Jazz have such a nice front-court with a future (4-5 years imo) all-star point guard, I would have thought that they could have lured a more formidable 2 or 3 man in free agency with that type of cash, it now restricts a lot of what they are able to do in future off-seasons. If the kid stays as inconsistent as he is right now, this will already be a bust of a contract by next season.
Hayward was nice with it last year too, he is only now getting recognition because of some clutch plays down the stretch. He was one of only a few (maybe 2 if I am right) players to average 16, 5 and 5 last year. The guy is a star player...period.
Love talkin ball with you Kap, could do it for hours.

I think Lebron made a massive mistake cutting weight in the offseason.
He was in the best shape of his life.
Whoever advised him to cut weight gave him terrible advice.
I can and have gained and lost weight as desired (upwards of a 60 lb weight swing when I also eliminated carbs).
The toll on your body afterwards is tremendous. Not only are you significantly physically weaker with that kind of loss, but your energy levels bottom out. Top top it off, your irritability levels are sky high.
Lebron thinks he lost mostly fat. He did not. He lost mostly muscle. Why he would pursue or be advised to lose muscle in a game of endurance, stamina and strength at times, is beyond me.
I predict that eventually he'll put it back on little by little and admit what he did was a mistake.
