Woosaa, remember that technique to calm yourself influenced by those bad boys movies? Well that is what your boy Mak is trying to do. A 3 pointer in each game would have made a 2-0 night for me rather then an 0-2 to start the season, nevertheless goosed on opening night. Not scared of that chalk as you all know and will be going with 3 home faves tonight. Off to the Raps home-opener at ACC. As always best of luck gents fellas.
ATLANTA HAWKS - 6.0 (-130) - - - Why is everyone sleeping on the Hawks? I just do not get it. These guys are gonna be an absolute nightmare at home this season. They will dominate teams and especially the up-tempo low defense teams like the Pacers. One thing does scare me about this game. The line has not significantly increased since the news that Danny Granger is out. That is a bit odd. If Danny is not in then I really don't see the Pacers standing much of a chance at all. With the acquisitions of Jeff Teague and Jamal Crawford as well as internal improvement from Zaza and Evans. The 2nd unit can make a splash for ATL. The front-line 5 are one of the most athletic dangerous starting lineups in the NBA. A team that has played together for a few years will have that chemistry. Watch for a breakout season from Marvin Williams and Al Horford. Josh Smith is one of the most versatile forwards in the game and Joe Joe may be the most underrated "star" player in the NBA. This Hawks team is the real deal.

ORLANDO MAGIC - 6.5 (-135) - - - Got this line at 8.5 and bought down last night and glad I did as it is up to 10 is some spots. Don't get me wrong I like Philly. I think Lou Williams will do well at the helm and Elton Brand looks healthy and will make an impact. Nevertheless they face the deepest team in the East and I doubt they can test em for 48 minutes. Bass, Gortat & Howard will take over the 4/5 position with no Lewis for a while. Jameer, Vince, J.J and Jason Williams are a formidable 4 in the back-court. With guys sharpshooters like Pietrus, Barnes and Ryan Anderson this Magic team has everything needed to make a return trip to the Eastern Finals. Magic by double digits.

SAN ANTONIO SPURS - 8.5 (-110) - - - Have you all not been watching the preseason and end of the playoffs for New Orleans? Granted its preseason but it is hard to ignore that each and every time Orleans stepped on the floor they got demolished. They are way way to shallow to compete in the West. CP3 is the best player with no team in the NBA. Him and Wade should leave their respective organizations as they have not surrounded these starts with proper players. Okafor may or may not play, even if he does it will be his first action is some time and he will be rusty. A very small front-court of Orleans will not be able to handle the beasts of the Spurs. Duncan, Bonner, Blair, Ratliff and McDyess...wow. Guard rotation of Tony, Manu, a much improved George Hill, Roger Mason, Finley...wow. What about RJ, do I need to go on. These team is stacked to the brimm and against one of the shallowest benches in the league I suspect them to open out in Texas with a bang.

GL mak...i like orlando...just 7 may seem high for first game...
last season...they lost their first....but that was hawks...
do u think 76ers...really took a hit losing andre miller?
Hey jdm, good to have you back my friend. Last time these two teams met last season was in the playoffs. Magic beat relatively the same Philly team by like 30 points without Superman who was suspended. I do think however progressively during the season the 76ers will not miss dre much. Louis will be solid.

Granger is now a game time decision, and might play after a good shoot around this afternoon...
Dammit I do hope you are wrong. I would much rather he not take over that SF role tonight. Hopefully if he plays O'brian will limithis minutes. Good info, thanks bud.
