I like blazers -10, and I liked thunder +3. I'm not good at totals so not much of an opinion. Everyone feel free to keep thoughts coming.

Once you start making a little and having fun, you get punched in the throat.

Canadiantruth posts on here. He seems to have an approach that can be successful in the long term.  Trying to win X amount of money in X amount of days, however, might keep you off of a successful long term approach.  I bring up Canadiantruth because he has this posted on his page, which I think holds a lot of gambling wisdom.  It sure ain't easy.  Good luck whatever you do.

The following is found from canadiantruth's page:

Bottom Line Rules to Sports Betting

    How to make money sports investing;
    I've been gambling for a decade, profitably for 2-3 years.  I became a student of the practice.  Reading books, blogs, articles, questioning the greats on forums, blogs, websites, and simply trying countless systems. There is a ton of information out there, but bottom line, anyone can be profitable if they follow a few simple rules;

    1) Money management
This is the single most important thing and the reason 80% of gamblers fail. For the sake of space and time, for today I will briefly mention a few components of money management (MM), without going into too much detail.
Units - Each bet should be a unit (a percentage of your bankroll between 1-5%).  Some people run different systems with different unit amounts, but for a beginner, and most experts each play should simply be 1 unit at around 3%.
Goals - The power of intention is strong.  Set yourself goals so you aren't playing just to play.  Whether that be weekly, monthly or monetary goals, reach them and reset them.
Discipline - Another rookie mistake;  losing two games in a row so playing 3 times as much on the third.  To be profitable you need to stop this (ties into rule #3). How many of us were up 10 units, only to pop into sportsbook casino's and lose it all?  Dont' chase (unless it's part of your style), stay out of the casino's, and stick with your unit system.  Always. Or YOU WILL LOSE IN THE LONG RUN.
Keep a record - Over looked by some of the greats as well, keeping a record is key.  How else do you realize that you are 60% on sides but 35% on totals?  This is how you discover that you are great at the start of seasons, but historically bad at the end, or after all star breaks, holidays, etc.  This also keeps your accounting honest, and helps with discipline.
Lose the risky bets - Probably  the most controversial thing I will say, for some of you.  Parlays, teasers, "if bets", etc are all money losers.  Sure there are a few on these sites who do OK with them, but for the most part, they really are bad value bet.  If they are part of your style, then at the least try to keep them to a minimum, and keep them between 2-3 games.

    2) Choose your style and sticking with it
Cannot be understated as this is how you actually choose your picks.  Finding a style that works for you and sticking with it, even through the inevitable downturns, is rule #2.   Once again, I will just touch on some of the styles.  Feel free to let me know about your own style, and at some point in the future (if anyone reads this) I will break each style down further.  Yes, I've tried or tracked all of these for at least a few weeks in different sports.
Line movement, trends, gut feeling, motivation, public plays vs fading, refs, following specific cappers, weather, injuries, rest&travel, "magic numbers", labouchere system,  martingale system, etc.
To be profitable, you obviously have to pick winners.  However, this is still not as important as MM.   I have seen a ton of people over the years hit 60% and still lose their bankroll.

    3) Lose the emotion
Another bankroll killer, rule #3 ties into money management.  To be profitable, we need to lose as much emotion surrounding our plays as possible. It is when you are pissed that the red sox missed the cover in the 9th, on an error, that you are more likely to chase your losses the next game. Alternatively, when they are your third win of the day, we have a tendency to feel lucky and blow all of our profits on game 4.
Don't bet on your home team if you can help it, it's not worth the grey hair.  Some people will go so far as to say do not watch the games you bet on, but I think that depends on your style.
Last, but definitely not least, DO NOT PLAY JUST FOR ACTION.  We get so used to the rush of betting that we often make bets just to have "action".  Don't do that.

This is the very basics of sports wagering, from my perspective, after a fairly exhaustive search.  I am confident that anyone who can follow these rules will be at worst, a break even better.  With the proper style, strict money management, and losing the emotion associated with your bets, anyone can take the leap from being a sports gambler to becoming a sports investor.

Oh, and the safe plays usually dont work for me. Got to put your balls on the line when wagering, not stupid plays, but the ones that are hard to pull the trigger on.

I would tail 2 guys for college basketball

allstarcapper who is 26-9 his last 35 plays and also bestsportscapper who is like 23-9 i think his last 32 plays.

Then i would also tail 714cuzzin in anything he picks as he is on fire as well.

Those 3 and you could make some good money over the next week and a half. Not sure if you will get to 3k though as all of them usually only post 1 play a day it seems.

allstarcapper likes Texas Tech +6 tonight in college hoops.

The other two haven't posted plays for tonight but 714cuzzin likes Oregon -7 or less for the College Football National championship game.

    Good Luck!

Trader, with Ohio state (I'm at a branch campus) their payment plan consists of paying in full or going with two payments and it splits the amount. I have half of what the first payment would be but would have to set that up by Wednesday and have the first payment up front. The problem with getting a loan is my parents made too much money and believe since their parents didn't help them as a kid they shouldn't have to help me. I can do this, more importantly WE can do this. $300 starting bankroll-- here we go.

Why are you betting against the hottest home team atm, golden state? Coin flip?

And lakers are hard to predict. Remember when they beat golden state? Pacers last night? Lost to memphis by 3? Beat the spurs on the road? Just saying +10 is a lot although blazers can very well cover that but theres just so many other games that are easier man.

Lakers b2b and disappointing loss for Portland last time out. Oklahoma City because I feel like every game is a must win.

so you have a $300 starting bankroll and need to make over $3000 in 10 days?

you essentially have to go 25-5 betting $200/game to get a $3500 net profit.....just not gonna happen man....thats over 80%....

only hope is you bet all $300 on favorite 2 picks that way you get to $1000 bankroll or nothing.......since you are going to lose it anyway thats a better play IMO.....

sorry to hear you are in this spot, but you will probably have to lose it to realize gambling isn't the answer....

My 2 plays for you would be Brk Nets game OVER with CHIC/HOU under

Everyone takes out loans for college.. Average debt is like 25k. What is your problem with taking out a loan and laying it back over the next 10 years? That's what everyone does.. Don't gamble it, you'll just lose it eventually. Maybe you'll get up to $600 and then bet 3 bets at $200 a pop and then just like that you're at 0. Go to your bank or another loan facility and take out a college loan.

I'd parlay Michigan State and North Carolina tonight.  I like them to cover both but a nice safe play is for them to win in a ML parlay.  ML parlay no guarantee but in case one gets backdoor cover you hit.

Good luck.  By the way your parents logic sounds odd unless they are cheap or broke OR they don't feel you'll apply yourself and they will waste the money.  Based on the thread, you dont seem the latter. I understand asking you child to contribute via some loans, etc, as college is a burden the student should own up too as well.  To me, it ensures you CARE more about your education because your paying for it.

Bro. Put $50 on OKCs TT over 54.5 1st H. All you need to do is research how many points OKC scores in the first H when KD and Westbrook are playing. They are a machine the first H. Not only that, warriors play at a fast pace. They will score 56+ 1st H tonight. Bet 25-50 on it

I don't have the credit for an outside loan, I can only receive federal funding which means it is based off of my parents' income. That being said I only get $5,500 a year and I went summer term which ate up all of my loan.

Hehe, you just might make it trilly, attending Ohio St but wagering on Oregon in the big game! Thats the kind of objectivity needed to make money at this.
