Interesting thoughts/Did You Know:
1. Did you know that of Detroit's 17 road losses, they are 3-12-2 against a hypothetical +5 line? Likewise, did you know that in Toronto's 8 home wins, they are 7-1 against a hypothetical -5 line?
2. Did you know that Chicago is 17-6-1 ATS in their last 24 following a SU loss? Or that they are 13-5 ATS in their last 18 following an ATS loss? How about 12-5 ATS in their last 17 road games versus a team with a winning home record? Once of the best bounce back teams in the league who people seem to have cooled on given their recent struggles.
3. Did you know that the Pacers are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 versus teams with a winning SU record? They beat up on bad teams but lose to good teams, just like a middle of the pack squad should. They are also 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 following a straight up win of 10 or more points.
4. Did you know that there are a boatload of UNDER trends for this CHI/IND game? My favorites: UNDER is 10-2 in last 12 CHI games as a small road favorite under 5 points, 21-7 in last 28 CHI games where they are a small favorite regardless of site, 9-4 in the last 13 CHI games on 1 day rest. UNDER is 14-5 in the last 19 Indiana games as a dog and 25-9 in their last 34 overall.
5. Did you know that the Celtics are 13-28-1 ATS in their last 42 games as a home favorite of 5-10.5 points? They seem to win these games but take their foot off the gas and not blow out teams that they are strongly favored over. There should be lots of Boston love today following their blowout of Sacramento but if you've been paying attention to Charlotte they are really playing better basketball right now. Plus this line should confuse people seeing that the last time they played, Boston bitchslapped the Bobkitties by 31 in Charlotte. I think the Bobkitties have revenge in their minds after getting embarrassed like that at home where they just flat out quit. CHA is 7-2 ATS in their last 9 in Boston so its not like they haven't had an ATS cover there before.
6. Did you know Boston has been favored by more than 8 points 11 times this season and is 3-7-1 ATS in those games?
7. Did you know that the Knicks haven't been favored by more than 7 all season? They've done it three times this year and guess what? They're 0-3 ATS in those games.
8. Did you know that Cleveland players were completely embarrassed after that Lakers game? Go check their quotes. Vets like Mo Williams saying he can't show his face in Cleveland, Jamison saying no professional team should ever lose by that much, etc. I know that CLE is terrible -- they are, no one doubts that -- but in the long grind that is the NBA season, you gotta look for spots where teams will be motivated to play hard. CLE will come out with guaranteed effort tonight after getting clowned, and that's more than you can say on most nights. CLE is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a game where they scored less than 75 (aka likely were blown out) and is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 as a dog of 11 points or more? If you are a "buy low, sell high" player, is there any better opportunity to "buy low" than after the national embarrasment suffered by Cleveland against the Lakers?
9. Did you know that Utah is 1-10 ATS in their last 11 games following a straight up win? That's terrible. They're also 1-5 in their last 6 home games against a team with a losing road record. Utah has absolutely zero motivation to absolutely blow out Cleveland tonight. None.
10. Did you know that we are staring down one of the greatest lookahead spots for any team this year with the Clippers tonight? Great situational spot for Golden State. Clippers are off a great home win against Miami and have to go up north a few hours on the I-5 to Oracle Arena, one of the toughest home court advantage arenas in the league, and then two days later its back home for the Lakers? I just think this is a great lookahead spot for the Clippers and while I've been praising them recently, I think they might take this game off mentally. They are still only 3-11 straight up on the road, let's not forget that. In those 11 road losses, they are 2-9 against a hypothetical +3.5 line. Warriors should have revenge on the mind given their recent game and the Clippers have already lost in Oracle once this year.
11. Did you know that the Nets are not the Cavaliers?
12. Did you know that the Lakers are 27-56 ATS in their last 83 home games as a favorite of 11 or more? Or they are 6-16 ATS in their last 22 home games against a team with a losing road record? Think the Nets might be a little motivated to try to slay the giants tonight? The Nets are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games as a dog of 11 points or more and are 13-4 ATS in their last 17 road games against a team with a home winning percentage above .600.
Good luck to everyone today
