The Spurs made a conscious effort to go young this offseason, with Demar Derozan, Patty Mills and Rudy Gay all leaving in free agency. That trio represented 43.8 points and 34 shot attempts per game.

Rather than relying heavily on newcomers Doug McDermott and Thaddeus Young, the Spurs are likely to lean on Murray, who was their second leading scorer last season. In his first full year as a starter, Murray averaged 15.7 points and a 23% usage rate.

The young Magic project once again to struggle defensively this season. Last year, they allowed the 10th most points to opposing point guards, with Murray netting 17 against them twice, in just 30 and 28 minutes. I expect the young point guard to begin a breakout season in game 1 – I have Murray projected closer to 20 points.
