Indiana vs Miami Series. Summary all 2 games.
I'm not going to take away anything from the Pacers, they played a great
game. They were really up for this game and executed almost flawlessly
on every possession. It helps when your pt guard is knocking down shots,
your center is grabbing boards and scoring pts and your super-star
player is making shots also.........
...........but.........only
15 PF's to Miami's 26 PF's. Indiana 37 FT's to Miami's 15 FT's.
Albeit Pacers were more aggressive and could also count in some home
court love and to be fair i really didn't see much shady officiating
from the 1st Quarter. I usually watch intently and focus on calls from
tip off and you can usually determine what the refs are up to. but they
hardly really blew their whistles.
With all that said the 3rd Quarter was some what telling. The FT disparity was
massive - i believe & correct me if i'm wrong but a high % of teams
win the game if they win the 3Q?
3Q:
Indy
15 FT's - Mia 2 FT's
indy 4 PF's - MIA
9 PF's
anyway........
Sometimes when watching games i can feel the refs
do all they can to not allow any chances of a come back. & in last
nights game it was Miami they were trying to hold down. I feel this even
more when i am on the wrong side of the refs and it seems the team i
back just can't seem to make a come back w/ all the calls going against
them. I feel Foster & crew were doing this in the 2nd half to the
Heat. Indiana won that 2nd half by just a point.
W/ that said
& to end this long rant i'm leaning towards Miami for game 2. Now
everybody is talking about how Indiana has a great chance to knock out
Miami and how they have no answer for Hibbert inside. Now all of a
sudden they are the favorites to take the East - after one game!
I anticipate any of these crooks Joe Crawford/Mike Callahan/Ken Mauer to ref game 2.
Leaning:
MIA -2.5
MIA ML
Indy going up 2-0? & risk
Miami going back home down 2-0 & Pacers stealing at least 1 in Miami
to put them up 3-1? no way. Let's see who they will send to ref.
"I anticipate any of these crooks Joe Crawford/Mike Callahan/Ken Mauer to ref game 2."
Well folks, looky here........
Joe Crawford & Mike Callahan for game 2. Just as i anticipated.
The
3 refs today are a combined 24-16 for the home dog when line is 0-4.5.
Take away John Goble's stats wich heavily favors the home dog 13-3 &
Crawford & Callahan are
11-13 against the home dog. Goble will be a puppet for Crawford & Callahan.
The
last time Crawford ref'd a Heat game in the playoffs was the last game
in the BK/Heat series (Miami won & eliminated the Nets). Callahan
ref'd the BK/Heat game 1 (Heat victory).....
......But the last time
they both ref'd together in a Heat game was in that game 6 in last
seasons finals where Miami was in a brink of elimination. That was a
must-win for Miami and when i saw Crawford, Callahan & Mauer i
thought it was lights out for the Spurs.......boy was i wrong. They
really tricked us on that one.
Even though this is not a must win
for Miami it is a crucial game for them to not go down 0-2 & risk
having pressure to win both home games. Although it would be a perfect
time to send in refs as decoys to deceive i can't see that happening so
early in the series when the league would want to extend this & not
risk their cash cow Miami to go down to Indiana. Though Heat going down
0-2 would go for good drama, i just can't see them risking it. I won't
over think it.
Lean:
MIA -2.5 & SU/ML
saw abit of life form the refs the end of the 1st. let's see how the 2q ends
much better 2q. saw some life form Crawford & Callahan. 14 Ft's for
Miami to 8 FT's for Indiana. gonna continue to watch what they do in the
3Q
no Ft's for Miami in the 3q, 3 for Indiana. 14 Ft's to 11 Ft's
4 FT's for Pacers in the 4th - 7 FT's for Heat. MIA 18 FT's - IND 15 FT's. MIA 17 PF's - IND -16 PF's.
Not
really much there. Crawford & Callahan weren't much a factor for
Miami. Some favoring calls in the 4th but not much. That hold/foul on
Allen in the in-bounds play was not called w/ Miami only up 4
pts....Indiana could have scored and Heat lose the cover. Luckily they
didn't.
I was on edge that 2nd half, especially after the 3Q. Was
looking really shaky. Have a couple HUGE plays - my heart still
pounding
