I made a long write up about it, I bet them big in numerous plays for game 1, i said if they are supposed 2 win the finals they win game 1 & they do and you ask me if i still like them to win the series?

I find this rather interesting as i never liked the 2-3-2 format. I also felt it gave an advantage to the lower seeded team. But w/ the stats below it bodes very well for the Spurs in the formats first year back since 1984.
"For the record, since 1985 the teams with Games 1, 2, 6 and 7 at home
(if needed) have won 21 of the 29 Finals (.724) in the 2-3-2 format. In
the 38 NBA/BAA championships through 1984 (including some played with
alternating home games or even 2-3-2 in the 1950s), the higher-seeded
teams went 26-12 (.684)."
Most def gives Spurs backers something to be even more positive about. Game 2 is pretty tricky. The OBVIOUS play is Miami off an SU & ATS loss. Plus you have a very upset, angry & disappointed Lebron after cramping in game 1. Furthermore they've never lost 2 in a row in the playoffs. Miami +5 for game 2 right!............ .............I know i said it for game 1 but to take it even further:
"If indeed the league wants Spurs to win the finals they will be up 2-0 after game 2."
Though Miami won't be in trouble if they lose game 2, since all Spurs would have done is protect home court, but it does put them down 0-2 for the first time in the playoffs since the Big 3 era & will have the pressure to win both games @ home vs a team that wants revenge & that has home court advantage........so in that respect it is a 'must win' wich i think may bring refs into the equation. It's either save Miami time or not. If so i'm expecting Joe Crawford & Callahan, 2 Heat friendly refs. If not i could see somebody like Mccutchen, or Capers, or Philips. Refs stats favored the road team in game 1 so officiating stats has not determined the winner so far and even as far as the Conference Finals. But will still be interesting to see who they send in this game 2 game, wich i think will be big if spurs can go up 2-0.

James Capers is the #1 Heat ref. Miami is 23-2 in the Big 3 era in games James Capers officiates. Danny Crawford is the #2 Heat ref. The Heat post a 80+% winning percentage in his games. Jason Phillips is the #2 worst ref for home teams.
That is the trio of refs working this game today.

Interesting!
The last time Capers & Dan Crawford reffed in the finals, in a Heat game together was game 3 in last yrs finals where Crawford was also the #1 ref and Capers #2. Spurs won that game by 36pts. Spurs had 19 Ft's to Miami's 10. 16 PF's for Miami and 12 to Spurs.
Refs are a combined 25-25 ATS when line is 0-4.5 Refs are combined 103-116-4 Home Team ATS
As i've mentioned since Con. Finals the refs stats have not determined the winner for each game including game 1 in this series.

I politely disagree the refs have been very instrumental in determine game winner. It's been subtle 3rd and 4th quarters during runs or stopping runs very slick in deed

^ I agree. The minute Miami was starting to pull away the refs stepped in but it was subtle. Lebron's put-back waved off for goaltending, then some pretty questionable fouls to put the Spurs at the line.. Bellinelli beats Wade off the dribble and gets the foul.. come on. Refs had to keep the home team from getting blown out.

I mean ref "stats" have not been consistent in determining a winner. The result has been in the opposite of the stats.......but they have been doing their regular 'massgain' in games. i've posted the quarter by quarter ft and pf discrepency w/ notes indicating wich sides they've been favoring.

Good luck 3ball -- I post on refs but only as 1/5-1/10 of the info you should consider in a game -- the conductor doesn't make the music -- he only conducts -- and if the musicians are practiced and all stars the conductor should be reference only -- that said I see an even matchup and the refs might tip a close game to the heat -- at least that is what the stats say
