Grizzles +2 (buying a half point if I can't find it anywhere)
I really like the way they are playing right now. Somehow Covers thinks Portland's bench is better than Memphis' right now. Portland was one of the youngest teams in the NBA to reach the playoffs last year, and they could still reach the playoff this year if they can make something happen before February. I cannot see the Blazers coming out with a lot of fire in this game after LA last night. Memphis is well rested and Rudy Gay should have had time to heal his injury fully.
As for Portland, Brandon Roy is dealing with a injury that affected his play in the Clipper game. Playing against a fast-paced physical team like Memphis could risk his injury further, only problem is they don't have anybody off the bench that can play at Roy's level yet. Lamarcus Alridge could be back, if he does play - I really think this could be a mistake by the coaching staff by bringing another player down, especially with an ankle injury. It should be in Portland's best interest not to play him until he is 100% because he is almost as important to Portland right now as Roy. Then again, Portland played Roy last night and he couldn't handle the Clippers double teams and scored only 6 points. I think having a Brandon Roy and Lamarcus Aldridge playing tonight when they aren't 100% healthy being a disadvantage to the Blazers. It should be in Portland's best to rest these guys. But who knows how they will play this when they are already five guys down in rotation.
While I think that Memphis will probably win this game. I think it's always safer to take the points in this situations when the ML is as low as it is. I think Memphis not to lose by +2 has the greatest chance of happening.
I tried to handicap more games today but I've been dealing with a series of monster cluster headaches the past 24 hours. I only limited myself to a play I was looking at last weekend. Thanks for reading! Your comments are welcome.

The Trailblazers are finally having reality set in, they are going to continue to crash back down to earth after over-achieving for the last couple weeks. That loss last night in LA is a harbinger of some tough times for Portland IMO. They also have the Lakers and CAVS on deck after this game.
Meanwhile, the Grizzlies are getting no respect for this recent tear that they are on. They are absolutely dismantling quality teams right now regardless of being favored, or being in the underdog role. You gotta ride 'em when they are playing this well, especially before the lines start catching up.

Memphis hasn't won 4 straight in a very long time. I think they have a great chance tonight. However I still think the taking the points is the safest thing to do, ML isn't very enticing.
Sorry if my post earlier was a bit confusing. Still recovering from that headache. Good luck to all.
