Oh FFS how sweet is this? Pat gets to face the sucmbag who left him at the alter and made him fly to LA for a last minute meeting when he had already decided to go back to Cleveland to play with his new SuperTeam. Karma doesn’t have a menu, you get what you deserve.

This Miami Heat team is basically the 2004 starless Pistons that knocked out the Kobe/Shaq Lakers from the Finals.

This isn’t 28 year old Lebron. This is 35 year old Lebron. I absolutely give the Heat a great shot at winning it all.

Iggy owns Bron. This could not have worked out any better for Miami.  I will have a huge write up in the coming days. Riley is jreking off tonight.

BB I love the Heat bro. I love them here. Jimmy, Iggy, Crowder, all these dudes can play Lebron and wear him down. The paint will be closed for LeBrick, he will have to hit his mid range shots where he is a career 36% shooter.  This ain’t the defenseless Nuggets. Riley and Spo know James, the paint will be closed down for him. Jerome Bettis must practice those mid range jumper. Miami has dogs every where.

If this is about the in 'honor of Kobe' narrative & give one final title to lebolt & Lakers then Heat have no shot even before this begins. But if they decide to let them play it out Miami has a good shot.

In the past ratings would spike when lebron loses in the finals. People would tune in to see him lose, esp during the Miami Big-3 era. So this also could be about the shock of an underdog winning & Riley/Heat getting revenge on Lebron and spoil another ring for him further tainting his legacy.

It will be interesting to see which way the league goes w/ this. Wld be wonderful If it's the latter.

I like the Heat as well. For all the reasons you mention. They are more solid than the Lakers as a whole (once you get past the stars), and Iggy being there is a Godsend for this team. He fulfills the same role Rondo does for the Lakers, using how wiles at key moments to help swing momentum. Speaking of Rondo, he is the X factor for the Lakers who scared me. If you do a write up, you have to also account for his history with the Heat. If the Heat can make him a liability, by forcing to be a shooter instead of a playmaker, then they have a great shot at taking this series. Outside of Rondo, I don’t see any other Laker role player with the balls to do much in this series, though I suppose Danny Green can always come back from the dead. 

Thanks for reminding us, 3ball. Almost forgot about that other “team.” Lol. I expect Foster to be there to freeze the Heat in game one. That would be a shame and may cause me to tune the whole thing out. 

Here’s a very important factor most havnt thought about.

Lebron is an ego maniac, he absolutely cannot lose the Finals MVP to Anthony Davis. This benefits the Miami Heat. I will further discuss.

dont forget this is payback for Jimmy Butler too for all the times Cavs and Heat screwed the Bulls with countless playoff exits. As a Bulls fan  we couldve had our chance to win another trophy but Lebron was always in the way. 

I hear you brother. I have to believe that all bets are off right now. Their cashcow made it to the NBA Finals. From a ratings stand point, the NBA needs a longer series anyhow.

As far as the “honor Kobe Bryant” angle with a Laker title- Knowing Kobe Bryant the way that I did, I don’t for a second believe he was ever a fan of James and him getting 1 ring closer to Kobe himself. If the Bean is watching from above, I’d be anything he’s rooting for the Heat. He’s too damn competitive. Let’s see how it plays out.

Don’t forget the Pat Riley angle. NBA ain’t fcuking with him. He’s a Mount Rushmore NBA titan.

Iggy defense against Labron is a great point.  Playoff Rondo is a huge factor.  And he shot the three rediculously and surprisingly well against Denver.  Spoelstra!!!

I do like the points about the Heat defense being much more together than Denver's.  And the Heat have nice experienced pieces to go with Buckets and Duncan Robinson (he impresses the more I see of him-- the Heat players use him so well; in a seven game series, the opponent loses focus on that kids uncanny ability to release the purrfect 3 in less than a second).  Go Heat!

His appearances and antics aside, Rondo is one of my favorite players to watch. He is a throwback to the old PGs who used to run the show. Brings back fond memories of a brand of  basketball that’s not played much anymore. For a guy without a jump shot, you have to marvel at how he has survived in today’s league. He is a phenomenal basketball player. That’s how. The Heat better not take their eyes off him the way the Nuggets and Rockets did. He is not an accessory. He is a difference maker!

BB I agree on Rondo. It’s sports hate, I don’t like the dude.  Guys the mail it in season after season and then in a contract year play above their head, not a fan of those dudes, includes Dwight the clown Howard. 

BB- who’s DWade rooting for? You know he can be helpful to the Heat. 

Rondo decided a long time ago that wasn’t going to bother with the regular season. In a way, he is only doing what most modern NBA players do without masking it. If the guy had actually played every game the way he plays the playoffs, he might have been a legend, like J Kidd. I think D Wade is rooting for the Heat. Who knows, maybe even Shaq.

Pistons beat a Laker team that was full of turmoil and fighting amongst themselves for what reason? Simply because they had been together to long and it was time to break that shit up.

I recall a certain James team that also had the 2 best players on the floor and still lost: once to the Mavs (Dirk was past his prime) and once to the Spurs (Leonard was only a young buck). Just goes to show you, the guy is a chocker, and he might do it again.

Knowing Lebrons history in the finals, Odds for heat to win the finals are just too good to pass up 

Agreed and no home court advantage is a big blow too. Series price is tasty at those odds for Miami. 

left him at the altar??huh??didnt they split after a brief but successful 4 year "marriage"??terrible analogy..oh,and newsflash.karma ISNT scientific at all.its entirely made up and fictional so im not sure why you would mention it in relation to the side you like here but okay...in any case its hard not to like the heat here i do agree on that.this probably goes 6 at least i would think.miami so tough and play extra hard ALL THE TIME,even though they may not boast the greatest top end talent in the league by any stretch..consistent all-out effort is something that the lakers do struggle with on the other hand and if they sleep on this squad they could definitely get caught with their pants down..add to that davis's ankle and persistent injury history in general and thats another factor that could play into this series big time.take him away and lebrons support starts to look extremely paper thin against a team that goes about 8 deep with guys that have all been contributing.plus spoelstra got an edge in coaching over lebr.....uh,i mean vogel.

im with you here 100% beginnerboy..rondo is absolutely one of my favourite all time players,along with jason kidd..sure,he has his flaws but i love his cerebral approach and ability to uplift others and move pieces like its his own personal chessboard out there..he is crafty and stylish and back in his peak boston days could really dominate whole postseasons in an unsung kind of way while all his team-mates were getting the shine and accolades.in my view he is a sneaky all-time great that wont get mentioned enough cos his raw stats may not utterly blow you away....and we gotta be careful with outliers but it looks like has genuinely improved his jumpshot the past few years and will at least take it with purpose and confidence now..remember when he used to be terrified to even shoot it after everyone was ragging on him back in the day?

Like the Heat Big-3 series vs Dallas, where Wade was the clear MVP had they won but Lebron decided not to show up in the 4Q's? 

Though will he differ her since he's now 35 & knows he has been needing AD to even get to the finals?

Instinct here, much like the C's/Heat series....i feel if Heat wins they do it again in 5 or 6. If LA....in 7 games. 

I've always felt the longer the series the more advantage to the team Miami faces as Heat has always had less talent.

Denver doesn't have Miami's defense. Hell Dragic's old ass was competing w/ Cardiac Kemba, plus being able to stay in front of him. Kemba isn't exactly the slowest guy. Rondo may be easier to contain & restrict esp at 34yo. He may not hit many of those surprising 3's let alone consistently.
