If you think CP3 is just a scoring PG you clearly don't watch him play basketball.  He scores on his shitty Hornets because they have no other option.  If he had Allen, Pierce, and Garnett, he wouldn't have to score as much and would be impossible to guard.

I wish he would  come to Orlando, but Otis Smith is such a horrible gm that we can't even put together a competitive trade offer. Clearly the best pg in basketball.

The Celtics can add Paul and Howard . I can assure
you one thing, that nothing is a sure thing. Just ask
    D.Wade and King James.

I love rondo and im sure you do too BUT if you were a real celtics fan, you would consider anything that would help this team longterm. if paul guaranteed to sign a contract extension, trading rondo for a future hall of famer would be the right play for the franchise. Not only that, getting paul would attract potential free agents right away like howard...

All of this doesnt matter now though because Paul isnt coming to the celtics...

I don't think Cp3 would wanna join a deteriorating Celtics. He will not do a long term contract with you guys. He'll be in LA before Boston thats for sure.

The problem is that you may be sacrificing team chemistry for skill.  Personally I would always take the best team of all time against the best 5 players of all time.

I never siad he is just a scoring guard.  Why do covers members like to put words in your mouth.  I said his stats have gone down the last 3 years and the only difference between him and Rondo stats-wise is scoring.

And you're contradicting yourself my friend.  As the Hornet victory total has gone from 56 to 37 the last 3 years, Paul's PPG have gone from over 22 to 15.  So the more the Hornets suck, the less he has scored...by A LOT.

All I'm saying is Rondo is a damn fine point guard and also plays very good defense.  And if Paul would be such a huge upgrade, why would NO want to do this deal in the first place?

And you're contradicting yourself my friend.  As the Hornet victory total has gone from 56 to 37 the last 3 years, Paul's PPG have gone from over 22 to 15.  So the more the Hornets suck, the less he has scored...by A LOT.

All I'm saying is Rondo is a damn fine point guard and also plays very good defense.  And if Paul would be such a huge upgrade, why would NO want to do this deal in the first place?

The deal is pretty much a lock NOT to happen but the hornets know that paul isnt going to stay there so they wont get full value for him, rondo has a couple years left on his contract but the hornets actually dont want rondo, they were considering a 3 way deal that would net them other players and rondo would go somewhere else and paul to celtics... But again this trade isnt going to happen..

I think CP3 is too big of a player he can go where ever he wants.  And Boston does not sound like the place.  If he really wants to go to NY or LA those teams will make it happen some way.  However I do not think Rondo for Paul would be a good trade at all.  Especially given Paul's history of injury.  Rondo has been a major reason of why the Celts have been a team to beat in the East, looking at the few games Rondo has not played for Boston you can easily see the difference.  Boston does not need Rondo to shoot, they need him to see the floor.  Paul just isn't the same after his injury, he is still better than most points in the league though.  If anything Boston should try to trade of Stephen Curry.  Somebody who will drive defense on him at the perimeter and kick it out to Allen and Pierce and drive inside.  Paul does not seem capable of playing like that more so relying on the pick and roll system.

i agree with you, if u formed for one time only the best team vs a collection of all stars then the best team would win...  But Paul, as we saw in the playoffs last year, is such a special player. He carried that team to a couple wins over the lakers single handedly. He has no team around him while Rondo has 3 hall of famers to pass to..

Rondo is awesome but he is limited. Paul is a special talent. Paul is a better mid range/even 3 pt shooter than Rondo, and Paul is a MUCH MUCH better FT shooter than Rondo, we are talking 20% higher.. Rondo at times seemed like he didnt want to drive because he would have to go to the FT line, and that is not from me, that was actually from boston herald.

If Rondo worked on his shooting or should i say improved his shooting, he would be right up there or very close to  the DWils, DRoses, Pauls..  His shooting woes are pretty evident. Teams play off him bigtime and clog the lane up daring him to shoot. He needs to have that weapon in his arsenal and make teams pay for leaving him wide open to shoot.  plus teams dont care getting rough or fouling him if he drives because his FT shooting is so poor.

Anyways, lets end this thread now.. Paul is not coming to boston so no howard next season lol...   Celtics are dont have a center right now, they have old creaky Jermaine Oneal who is one small injury away from retiring.   The window is closed on the Cs unless they can get some decent Bigs in. KG cant do it all down there, and with all the back to back games, KG will have to rest up...

Dude, if Rondo could shoot FT - that could translate to 3-7 extra points per game... very well the difference between winning and losing.  He has proven he can hit the open jumper, just never on a consistent basis.  If Rondo could establish the outside threat (the only facet of his game that is truly lacking besides FTs) he would immediately jump to the top of the list of the best point in the NBA.

CP wld b a great addition to the celtics but i just cant see that happening. C's windowis pretty much closed unless they can somehow get in a good center. these backtobacktobacks and compressed season will kill the oldies - yes i'm counting them out this season because of those factors (i've never counted them out)
