Does this guy know how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory or what?! That last sequence by Brooklyn was awful. If his players don’t bail him out by making impossible plays he can’t draw up a play to save his life. Give me Jason Kidd as coach any day over this idiot. It is now perfectly clear that this team would have gotten to the Finals last year if he wasn’t the coach.

Guys who were great players never make good coaches, I don't know why team owners and GMs ever hire former stars as coaches. All the best coaches are not former star players.
The former mobster Michael Franzese said he used to take bets from star athletes and that they were the worst gamblers, too.
God gave these guys immense physical gifts, can't they just be happy with that? The dumb jock stereotype is there for a reason. You can't be an all star at everything.
Anyway, the game shouldn't have even been that close, it was comical how bad Boston collapsed in the 4th with such a big lead... Almost like the NBA didnt want 2 blowouts in a row. Need those March Madness style endings to max out the ratings especially with the 1 seeds vs 8 seeds on deck they needed one close game.

I am not sure I’d go that far. Ever hear of a guy named Phil Jackson? How about Pat Riley? How about Billy Cunningham? KC Jones? Don Nelson? Steve Kerr (even if he isn’t the best)? Lenny Wilkens?
Nash is just not very good. He never should have been MVP, much less twice. Not one finals appearance in his career.

Ive watched enough playoff basketball in my lifetime to tell you that todays loss clinched the series for the Celtics. You don’t recover from these losses. I will be on Boston -3.5 for a sizable amount in game 2. Nets get rolled in game 2.
Nash is the elephant in the room. He should be relieved of his duties effective immediately. He is out of his element. The look of sheer bewilderment on his face throughout the game is just sad. There is not a single aspect of the game where you can point to and give Nash credit. He’s an empty suit on the sidelines, stealing a pay check.
KD was awful today also. 6 turn overs and poor efficiency on offense. They both let Kyrie down. I’ve got the Celtics winning game 2 and splitting in Brooklyn to close the series in 5 at home. That’s how devastating todays loss was. I have no faith in Nash to do anything positive.
UNLESS Ben Simmons returns and can slow down Tatum, it’s over in 5.

Isn’t that the truth, buddy. There is an old axiom of playoff basketball that I did a writeup on years ago, when two teams are evenly matched, the team that gives away a game they should have had in the bag never recovers. Just look at basketball playoff history. It is full of such examples. Whether they lose in 5 or 7, they will lose bet they gave away a game they had essentially won.

narrative is always changing for the nets. First they had no chance against Boston - now they’re doomed because they should’ve won game 1.. a feel out game in a series that is being played like it’s the conference finals.

That game was about to be a tough loss for whoever lost it...and all it means is..this is going to be one hell of a good series....Nets almost won being down 15 on the road and KD played like shit for 95% of the game....anyone declaring this series is over is absolutely god dam clueless

You have a coach who can’t coach and you need Irving and KD to score 65-70 points combined for at least 4 games to win the series. Good luck with that!

i say that all the time about former players who are now talking heads on these weekly shows. Shaq and Barkley were talking about Harden and this Raptors series and saying he needed to start putting up 35-40 points a game for them to have a shot. That ain't Harden's game anymore and he don't want to play like that either and quite frankly, he CANT play like that anymore. He's there to be a distributor and QB the offense.
