''I hope the Bulls pick me,'' said Rose, who then referenced the 2003
draft, when Ohio native LeBron James was picked first by the Cleveland
Cavaliers. ``I thought LeBron James was the luckiest guy in the world
playing for his home state. Now I get that chance.''
Godamnit Rose why?
"Beasley wrapped up his two-day workout for the Heat on Thursday but was
not made available to the media. The Heat is expected to select Beasley
with the second pick, but team president Pat Riley has said he would
consider a trade."
We can definitely get something good out of Beasely. I'm looking forward to the draft and events following, c'mon Riles make shit happen.

Good luck with that one! By the way, who will be the point guard? Who will play defense? Mayo would be a nice hometown pick and all...but that team would be the equivalent of the Knicks...looks great on paper, but you get those guys together and it's a trainwreck.
Arenas needs to go somewhere he can jack up 40 shots a game. Some quick ideas would be the Kings, Bucks, or T-Wolves. Brand doesn't want to stay with the Clippers I'm sure, at this point in his career he knows if he re-signs with the Clips, he's there for life.
Don't mind westcoasttrojan, he talks out of his ass more than Mark Jackson.
an Arenas/Mayo backcourt would be horrible for a frontcourt of Thornton, Brand, and Kaman... Making Coach Dunleavy's hair fall out completely.

No doubt the Heat should be improved...simply because Marion will be fully integrated into the team and Wade will be healthier. I just don't like either Beasley or Rose as far as NBA talent. From what I've seen their down-side is much larger than their up-side. Overall a weak draft, but with all the hype around Beasley and Rose, the Heat should definitely trade the pick.

Yup, with a horrific 07-08 season for the Heat especially with the many injuries that plagued them throughout the season i could only imagine the determination this team will have this coming season considering also they were champs the season prior and were then nothing but a sparring partner for the rest of the NBA to pound on. Marion came from a winning team in Suns and he will waste no time in wanting to lift Heat back to it's stature. Wade will most def be on a mission to prove the 05-06 title was no fluke and he will be hungry to go back into his winning ways and help lift his team get back into championship contenders.
I don't know much about Beasely nor do i really have to since Heat will most likely trade him anyways but from what i've seen of Rose he has hints of that something special you see in a player that comes around once every good year. If they mold him, discipline him and really work his game he can be a very lethal PG. He is explosive and has that no fear mentality a lot like we saw in Wade. But again all players have their negatives his Free-Throwing abilities for one but they can sharpen him up, work his game and he can only improve as a player. Wether he has heart is another matter since i dont really know him that well. I'm still crossing my fingers of a chance to acquire Rose, Heat need a point guard something chronic!

I stopped watching NBA post Jordan and didn't really get back into it until 2006 when Miami won and Wade acquired his first title 3 years in the league..............
........So i was watching "Undeniable The Rise Of Dwyane Wade" and did not know they came so close in being Eastern Con. Champs in 2004-2005 season with a chance for the title. Had Wade not been injured in game 5 (which they won and lead the series 3-2) and eventually sitting out game 6 Miami had a chance to defeat Detroit 4-2 but they lost game 6 (even with Shaq?)) and with a banged up Wade was defeated by 6 pts in game 7. Wade had a great chance to win a title a year earlier or only in his 2nd season!!!!! His highest scores were 28, 40 & 36 against a great defensive squad.
He put Heat on his back & took them to the finals in only his 2nd year then taking a title & mvp in his 3rd and not to mention his stats placed him up there with the elite - that's amazing. Do not count out Heat in 08-09 season not with a healthy Wade & a new looks squad for real!!

The problem with Rose is obviously his free throws and outside perimeter shooting. What I feel teams will do is just give him any open jumper outside of 18 feet he wants, preventing the drive to the hoop. No doubt he's an explosive player with the pure ability to drive to the hoop and get points, but the NBA is a fuck load more physical than Conference USA, and he won't be getting many free throws just gliding to the rim, he'll be put on his ass very quickly, and with the young guys coming out after their freshman year, it's interesting to see how they handle it.
Same thing with Beasley, who played power forward for Kansas, but is more of a shooting guard type. He's only 6'7", so he'll be more of a Lamar Odom type IMO. Any of those inside moves he tries to make will be absolutely rejected, not because of his talent, but because of his size. He has more of an outside jumper than Rose, which makes him the better selection.
Rose played on a much better team with Memphis, while Beasley was the main attraction with Kansas. It's reasons like that I would take Beasley and OJ Mayo over Rose in this draft.

Yes, that was the first year Shaq joined the Heat (and should have been MVP) and the Heat won 59 games if I'm not mistaken.
The Heat would have gone to the Finals had Keyon Dooling and Damon Jones didn't have horrible 4th qt performances.
Wade and Shaq were a great combo and as a fan of the game, it was sad to see them both hurt in their 3rd seasons together. Last season was just horrid as Wade was still hurt, having been rushed back by Riley just to get swept by the horriBulls and O'Neal "tanking" just to show Riley up.
Wade is the best SG in the NBA so I'm looking forward to seeing him return to action.
With the addition of Rose, along with Marion and Haslem (underrated) Miami should be able to compete for a top 5 seed. I predict they finish slightly over .500 with their current roster but we'll see what they do with the pick.

The Wizards should trade Arenas home to LA and get Brand in return..
2 guys coming off injuries , both all stars -and my Wiz get a low post bull dozer ..
Chris Douglas Roberts has SERIOUS game ..
Beasley measured 6'8 1/4 ... he's Derrick Coleman in his prime without the shot blocking ..
Not sure if Wizards need Brand though. They already have Jamison and Haywood in the middle who are two solid players. Add in Brand to the mix and you better hope they don't play any fast paced teams. Butler and Daniels will have to do all the running. Arenas to the Clippers wouldn't be a bad fit however simply because IMO he needs to go to a team that has nobody else.
I'm still not sold on Beasley. Not gonna give him Derrick Coleman status yet.
