I know this, for myself is when it started.

I have no NBA team I am a die-hard for.

I think alot of people overreacted to alot of the Lebron events that have occured.

But, I think all this Lebron/Heat "hate" that is seen, was 100% self-deserved and earned by the Big 3 themselves

What is so bad about him?!?!?!? Forget about the whole going to Miami and having a party before even winning anything. I'm still surprised people still bring up Pierce, KG & Allen. The two situations couldn't be more black & White. Pierce stuck w/ Celtics throughout his career. by the time KG, Allen & pierce joined they were way past their prime as old league vets.

It does not matter If you like or if he does things the way you want him to....., I'm sure he regrets the way things were handled with Cleveland if fact has said it many times publically. It's done and is what it is.  As far as playing with superstars I agree that Jordan only had one true superstar on his team...... But things have changed in the nba.... All the legit teams have 3 stars with Dallas being An exception that omes to mid but they have like 5 Perennial allstars on there roster though only one superstar.  When Jordan was in the nba most teams only had 2 legit players.......  The moral of the story is people need to quit te hate and process that he has passed everyone up in terms of best basketball player ever except maybe MJ and barring significant career endin injury will be the best player err when he retires......... The stats he puts up on better than anyone ever against much tougher competition as a whole.... 
This is no bash on bosh but I absolutely do not consider him a superstar......
The team they just beat okc have a legitimate argument about who has better roster but no one is giving them shit..... Durant is a top3 player westbrook a top 5 pg.... And Harden is a beast(minus finals series lol). Not to mention ibaka is probably a top 10 big right now,  and the second best shot blocker in league behind Howard....  I know they drafted the players each year by that just means they were not any good for a log time...... Cleveland will be awesome again at some point.  He was never gonna win in Cleveland with all I year other super teams forming..... He do what wa best for him.... Just could have handled it better

I could argue the same about dwade brin past his prime.... He is no where near the player he was a few years ago..... And if it's just for one season and not going forward I would imagine very few would take bosh over Garnett.... I know I would not

Lone superstars playing with no other all stars simple do not win titles......

even Kevin Durant is playing with Westbrook (all star and olympian)    the 6th man of the year.....and the leagues leading shot blocker

LBJ to stay in Cleveland and try to beat these better teams was Krazeee with a capital K

Kenny Smith said it best.....the OTHERS have to help the superstar to get a ring.....the folks that dislike LBJ for UPGRADING his teammates and others are disingenuous......it takes strength to recognize that you cant do it by yourself....that is not a weakness

Even Jordan as great as he was....would not have won without Pippen...you got to have a legit #2 scorer that can get their own shot

QUICK:   Who is the guy LBJ was playing with in Cleveland that he could go to battle with in the playoffs that could get their own shot  if LBJ was off, struggling, in foul trouble....cramping...etc..etc...etc...

ANSWER:   NO BODEEEEE...believe dat

He is one smart man for getting the heck out of Cleveland.....

If he just did things in a much more humble manner,  without question he'd have been universally  worshipped by now....

it's just unfortunate for him , he'll be remembered by so many as a baller whose talent was matched by his ego and his smugness

all things said , he deserved a title ....however he went about it...
but there will be a time in his life he'll look back and wish he coulda been more of a class act about it..

I personally want to see Derrick Rose's reaction to winning an NBA title , and the way he goes about it, but CHI need to get a little more creative with their recruitment and the pieces they bring in .

Well said, but this sort of commentary requires a distinct rebuttal.


Those 3-4 comments and situations you describe as callous, arrogant, smug....he has directly apologized for all of them(or haven't you noticed?). On multiple occasions. None of them are as egregious as you and many others surmise. They are just comments. Poorly worded, clumsy and ill-timed, but still just words. Do I think he could have handled it better? Most certainly. Does he deserve the irremovable stain(as you state) on his resume for some simply poor word choices and ill-conceived actions? A definitive no.
He is maturing and growing as a man. He is 27 years old and his story is not done. I think in 20 years, when there is some context and ability to reflect, these comments will be relegated as indicative of his early, growing years and certainly not perceived so harshly by most. Proximity generally does not permit proper reflection.

Also, these words and soundbites/videos are media hyped and have been "blown up" into controversy because LBJ is a huge part of the financial blood of the NBA. He is the main driver behind its diverse monetary base(selling of tickets, advertising, tv revenue, foreign exposure, merchandise...). Without him, does anybody watch as much of the NBA as we all do---love him or hate him? The evidence is clearly presented in this years' Finals tv ratings. 

Nobody knows him personally; and frankly, none of us is any sort of position to definitively judge his character based upon short soundbites/videos. We can have a distant opinion, that's about it. Do you really think you know if he is truly a callous, arrogant, smug individual? Are you his mother? Fiance? Maverick Carter? I didn't think so. He is an upstanding, generous citizen and loving father by all public accounts.

He just called himself "immature" in regards to his attitude and actions in 2011. He also expressed regret as to the way he left Cleveland. Do you simply find his mea culpas insincere? Or do you just choose to ignore them? Most people have fallen victim to the media's narrative and become unable to separate fact from fiction. 


Finally, to imply Derrick Rose is a paragon of virtue and cleanliness is absurd. He is a humble and quality person, as far as I can tell, but certainly no better than LBJ. Do you recall his direct participation in a fraud that is far worse than anything LBJ has ever done?
Recall that Calipari and Rose agreed to let another person take his SAT in Detroit. Rose could not meet the minimum score himself, so he chose to allow someone else to sit in his stead. Memphis vacated all of their victories that season, as a result. Great example for all the kids, right? Surely the Boys and Girls Club would relish D. Rose as a spokesman and fundraiser? 
It's disingenuous to point out all of LBJ's supposed "unforgivable" actions and words and to ignore a real example of fraud and deceit. Which is worse? I certainly know. Do you?

This year's finals was fun because of lebron and durant. Wouldn't be as fun with BOS and OKC in the finals imo.

Do you think the majority of the globe dislike/hate/criticize him because of his basketball skills??!! He is one of the most hated because of who he is as a person. That character has always carried over on the court, in interviews etc. so does it matter? of course it does since that very character was the trait that lead to him not shaking hands showing poor sportsmanship and also cowering when the games gave him too much pressure to perform and seemingly quitting in front of the world. Moreover there are also kids who look up to him. I know many parents don't want their kids acting a narcissistic fool no matter how much talent they have - they want to bring up their kids with good values and integrity.

There's a saying:

Perhaps if Lebron showed more values & honor and practiced more humility & humbleness he would have won numerous titles rather than just this 1 lone title in his 9 yrs in the league. This is what ultimately separates the 'Greats' from the Duds.

Again, one title won't change the minds of many. For his past actions has made too much of an impact in peoples minds. It will take a whole lot more. Argue all you like about this ONE RING - to the critics it's not as impressive as what Heat/Lebron fans deem it to be. Period.

the Sandusky (a convisted crime against others),

 the rae caruths (hired someone to commit a crime)...

.allen iversons (we talking about practice man....feud with coach....selfish baller.....trouble with law)

.even Michael Jordans (adultery...gambling..see half of fame speech) and

 kobe bryant (see press conference call out of teammates....see shaq - kobe fued -- in case you forgot when the police questioned him about colorado  he said "maybe I should of paid her like Shaq pays his women"  at time shaq was still married ....)

LBJ stuff is minor....and his NON-fans have balloned his free agency and his promise of BELIEF to a Miami crowd at a Miami pep rally into a  non-troversy.......in actuality his belief they could win multiple championships is and was also a threat to fans of other teams.....and there in lies the HATE....fear that the heat will be kickin mucho BUTT in the years to come of haters favorite teams

The detractors in this thread are correct......they will never LIKE lbj nor should they....noone can please everybody....even LBJ said it...I will be ME (not a villian)....play as hard as I can and live with the results.

Well let's evaluate what he accomplished during this post season only

1)  He broke yet another record this post season....he led all players in NBA playoff history for the most points, rebounds, assists accumulated after thisa single season playoff run.....no player in NBA history had more pts, + rebs + assts than LBJ in one single post season run...Not Wilt, not MJ. not the mailman, not Bird, Not magic, not Oscar, not Durant, not Shaq, not even Kobe

2)   He had multiple signature moments in this playoff run....what is a signature moment?   Well he made the key play, plays or was the top performer in a game changing or series swinging moment?

Game 3 Miami down 1 to 2 to Indy....he puts up 40 points 18 rebs and 9 assists 2 steals and 2 blocks......Al hortford tweeted folks couldn't do that on a NBA 2k game if they tried and LBJ did it on the road in a crucial playoff game

** Miami went on to win the Indy series 4 games to 2

Game 6 at Boston trailing 2 to 3....LBJ was in fuego....hitting shots all over the floor...dunking left and right...

*** Miami went on to win the series 4 games  to 3

Then trailing OKC 0 to 1....he took over in Game 2 in OKC....had the key defense (foul? ...non-foul?) on KD....hit the bank shot...and was money from the free throw line

*** Miami went on to win the series 4games  to 1

Anyone notice how when Miami was trailing in a series during this postseason that they never lost again

after 1 to 2 to Indy...won 4 to 2

after 2 to 3 to Boston...win 4 to 3

after 0 to 1 to OKC...won 4 to 1

LBJ not only accomplished something....he was dominant....fouling out Melo....fouling out Granger....fouling out Pierce...then getting KD in foul trouble

unguardable....unstoppable....and folks still talking about his attitude......C'MON MAN

It is a stetch to come to those conclusions....every star is cocky or should we say confident....thin line between confident/cocky....but lbj is not criminal...not an adulterer....not a bad teammate...

I still say that the guys that really have a problem with LBJ.....really have a problem with LBJ threatening their favorite player today or favorite player of yester-year place on the superstar totum-pole....b/c LBJ is climbing that pole folks.

ct1016, i like you mate. And what i post in here is not a personal attack to anybody.....but did you really make the conclusion that the Lebron criticism is because people are threatened due to their favorite players in relation to Lebrons future legacy? Are you serious bro?

My favorite player of all time is Michael Jordan. I'm 35 yrs old so i was in my early teens watching the Bulls win all those championships and i feel no threat what so ever! Simply put..any threat was essentially killed by Lebron him self in his need to quit his team, run to his friends and chase & win a title in that manner.........Not to mention Jordan was flawless in the finals. Lebron is still 1-3 including that sweep by the Spurs. He was humiliated just last season in front of all our eyes. Again this lone ring won't impress the critics brother. And nothing any of you can say to alter Lebrons image in the minds of many even if this goes to 100 pages filled with Lebron/Heat fans replies.

LBJ won a title....who said he was the G.O.A.T.?   Not I.

But the detractors always minimize and critize and do not clap and congratulate

Legacies are established once the career is over

As for LBJ being 1 and 3.....michael jordan would not have won on those cleveland rosters and with those cavs coaches

I do not expect kobe to be winning with the former cav coach in LA

You must have a squad to win it all

When you are drafted #1 to a lottery team and one as historically bad and ill managed as the cavs.....that should be taken into consideration that HE and HE alone turned them around....it was not b/c they had some monster team....he needed another all star teammate on that roster.....and he never got it.

He is one smart man for getting the heck out of Cleveland

And look at how Dan Gilbert's true color showed after he left....wow....

LBJ is not MJ but he is 25% MJ (athleticism and good perimter defender)

LBJ is not Magic but he is 25 % Magic (in top 10 in assists and is best passing SF in the game probably in NBA history)

LBJ is not Oscar Robertson but he is 25% Big O (LBJ is a triple double waiting to happen)

and then LBJ is 25% of something we have never seen before....because he more so than any other player consistently keeps breaking records....

1)  already has more KIA player or week + month awards than anyone in NBA history

2)  see my previous post....most pts+rebs+assts in a single post season run

3) led Cavs in pts rebs assts steals and blocks in one season (done 3 times before)

4) scored over 25 pts 14 straight games this post season....tied his own NBA record

I will stop there......yep, I think the detractors are really stretching to find something wrong with the guy

a)  the decision made millions for boys and girls club

b)   the pep rally...heck Shaq drove in town on a truck and said lets go get the chip.....what free agent doesn't arrive in town and say lets go get the chip...........I know...I know....its the WAY he did it.......he then says sorry folks....perception is reality....but folks still cant get over it ...year(s) late.....that to me means it is something else.....and the only thing I can come up with....is he is a threat to fans favorite player on the superstar totum pole

By the way....MJ is the GOAT...and is/was my favorite player going all the way back to his title days at UNC

But LBJ is the STUD in todays league fo-sure

The detractors in this thread are correct......they will never LIKE lbj nor should they....noone can please everybody....even LBJ said it...I will be ME (not a villian)....play as hard as I can and live with the results.

Well let's evaluate what he accomplished during this post season only

1)  He broke yet another record this post season....he led all players in NBA playoff history for the most points, rebounds, assists accumulated after thisa single season playoff run.....no player in NBA history had more pts, + rebs + assts than LBJ in one single post season run...Not Wilt, not MJ. not the mailman, not Bird, Not magic, not Oscar, not Durant, not Shaq, not even Kobe

2)   He had multiple signature moments in this playoff run....what is a signature moment?   Well he made the key play, plays or was the top performer in a game changing or series swinging moment?

Game 3 Miami down 1 to 2 to Indy....he puts up 40 points 18 rebs and 9 assists 2 steals and 2 blocks......Al hortford tweeted folks couldn't do that on a NBA 2k game if they tried and LBJ did it on the road in a crucial playoff game

** Miami went on to win the Indy series 4 games to 2

Game 6 at Boston trailing 2 to 3....LBJ was in fuego....hitting shots all over the floor...dunking left and right...

*** Miami went on to win the series 4 games  to 3

Then trailing OKC 0 to 1....he took over in Game 2 in OKC....had the key defense (foul? ...non-foul?) on KD....hit the bank shot...and was money from the free throw line

*** Miami went on to win the series 4games  to 1

Anyone notice how when Miami was trailing in a series during this postseason that they never lost again

after 1 to 2 to Indy...won 4 to 2

after 2 to 3 to Boston...win 4 to 3

after 0 to 1 to OKC...won 4 to 1

LBJ not only accomplished something....he was dominant....fouling out Melo....fouling out Granger....fouling out Pierce...then getting KD in foul trouble

unguardable....unstoppable....and folks still talking about his attitude......C'MON MAN

It is a stetch to come to those conclusions....every star is cocky or should we say confident....thin line between confident/cocky....but lbj is not criminal...not an adulterer....not a bad teammate...

I still say that the guys that really have a problem with LBJ.....really have a problem with LBJ threatening their favorite player today or favorite player of yester-year place on the superstar totum-pole....b/c LBJ is climbing that pole folks.

^at the amount of banners they have up in Boston Arena i doubt Celtics would be as devastated as you may think.

Besides Bostons Big 3 acquired their title in their first season - as aging league veterans lol.

Aging? Hardly.

The C's Big 3 were actually in their primes when they joined forces in a superteam. Most NBA followers would proclaim that ages 28-32 are generally considered an NBA player's most mature, efficient and best years. Some stats:

1. Kevin Garnett was age 31 and coming off a 22.4 ppg, 12.8 rpg and 4.1 apg season.  
2. Ray Allen was 31 and coming off a 26.4 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 4.1 apg season. 
3. Paul Pierce was 29 and coming off a 25.0 ppg, 5.9 rpg and 4.1 apg season.

They were all actually playing at a premium level when they came together. Those are the actual facts.
