ok...one of you hockey pros tell me if im wrong....i have become enamored with the -1/2 at + money for the 1P play....i have been watching first periods more closely than a hog guards his slop trough!!!....my observation is that the home team usually wins the first period or wins the +1/2 option at whatever juice had to be laid for the + 1/2...tonight if you had taken all 11 home teams for the first period, you would have been 8-3...and it seems true many other nights..am i wrong?..

Not necessarily, Pig....all comes down to matchups, schedules, etc...Don't draw any firm conclusions based upon this evening as the majority of home teams were favored. Even so, some teams are better 1P teams than others nomatter where the game is played. For example, the Hawks' are the highest scoring team in the league and, yet, their 1P is statistically speaking their worst...go figure.

I can do some queries and get some results this weekend.
You're looking for:
"The home team outcome after the first period"
In this, we can figure out break even and play percentages.
Eg, your daily sample pig.
8/11~=.72
So even money is -250+
No....unless I misunderstood, Pig is saying that the home team wins the 1P more often than not. I, in turn, tried to put that in more proper perspective.

coach...i would believe ANYTHING you told me about hockey, since i am clueless... martin jones
To put this in perspective, Jones has allowed a mere 5 goals in 21 periods to start his career. Keep in mind that the Hawks touched him for 3 of those goals in one period. So, aside from that, he's allowed 2 goals in the other 20 periods...unreal.

Yup Coach & Pig. Thx for the advice. Won't make that mistake again. I try to follow most of them. I too know nothing about hockey. I am up on night thx to some CBB. And still have Spurs TT & +7 2H. Appreciate all work you guys do.

brick, you understand the rationale for playing all the + money picks?...since you always get back more than you wager, you dont have to hit as many winners to make a profit.....but if you pick and choose the + money plays you may play the losers...youre welcome buddy...

coach...you were really pushing that spurs TT.......right down to that tip in with 2 seconds to play...glad you got it buddy.
Thanks, my friend, though it really shouldn't have come down to that. Nevertheless, I'll take it as I've certainly been on the other end of that fortune. Good night and back to the grind tomorrow. Fear the Indian Head if you know what I'm talking about
