Listen to the audio interview. Very interesting. He says that it's not "fixed like WWE" BUT it is ENTERTAIMENT and they do want to extend the series for the public. That's what the tell the refs behind the scenes..

never bet what you like, bet what you think the league wants to happen or dont bet at all. Explains how a team can win by 40 one night versus a team then play them again a week later and lose by 20. Rigged game.

Come on Louis, you're smarter than this.
"Bet what you think the league wants to happen" -- OK well gee, that's easy. Everyone should be a millionaire if that's all it took and this was all one big conspiracy/fix.
The fact that you don't get Louis how Team A can win by 40 one week and lose by 20 the next to the same other team tells me you probably didn't play a ton of hoops in an organized fashion. Sometimes shots go in, sometimes they don't. Sometimes you catch a team tired, sometimes they catch you tired. So many factors and variables to account for, which is really the key thing here -- the concept of variance, which I know you are familiar with.

no way at this level should there ever be a 60 point swing between two teams, no way. I think the total opposite. I played a TON of organized sports and at the ripe age of 39 I still play baseball in a wood bat league and in two hoops leagues. I've watched the CAVS miraculously beat or play competitively at home versus teams where they were so out manned it was a joke after losing to that same team by 30 on their floor a few weeks prior. Games where they have 3 starters injured. These are the best players on the planet. They can't play that bad all at once to have 30, 40, 50 point differentials. Its a business, sell tickets, entertain, sell seats. Employees of a business, every one of them. Refs for sure.
I watched the CAVS lose every game on purpose to get Lebron years ago. Philly through a ton this year. Not everything is rigged in the nBA, but some are.

different sport, but one of my favorite examples. This changed my perspective on betting forever. Not only because of the call but because of the impact it had on my wallet. I was in Vegas and this game was the last game for a HUGE 5 team parlay I had going that lost on this ONE f'n call.....

I think we can agree to disagree Louis. No need to chalk up to conspiracy what data and variance can explain in my mind

Not sure which call/game you are referring to Louis, that link had 3-4 of them. I've been on the receiving end of some atrocious calls in the NFL (including that Steelers/Chargers playoff game a few years back with the Polamalu late TD that didn't count that would have hit me a 6 team parlay). Malice shouldn't be assumed when incompetence is equally a potential explanation.

I'm w kapono here and just to clarify the fact that many teams tank games for better drafting position is not equivalent of fixing. There is a degree of truth, however, to the idea of extending of series but in my view it relates to the critical problem that is unique to nba. Starting in the 80s the nba started this nonsense of basically promoting situational refereeing. Now, that's all u see which basically results in the refs having too much influence on games. How many times do u see these refs wait to see if a shot goes in b4 blowing the late whistle. They realize they could call a foul on every play so they wait until they see if the action had a significant effect on the shot/play. This is the reason I laugh at those who complain about flopping. Situational reffing is the sole cause of flopping not the players. The refs look at a lebron james drive and say no1 can stop him but we can't call a foul every time so they r only going to call a foul if it clearly effects the shot. James then knows that the only way to get the foul is to fall down. Hence the flopping. Call the game right and u wont have flopping. In that light, refs r more likely to give calls to a team the benefit if doubt if it will extend series. I don't think though that this equates to outright fixing of games

Nah disagree with you on this one. You can't have your A game every night.

No fixing? What about Sacramento/LA Lakers game 6? I still cannot find one anti-fixing poster here who can show me how that game was not rigged. Not a single one. And you wanna know why? Because they'd be a fool to argue it wasn't.

Stop gambling NBA if you think each series is fixed. I thought this Louis guy was a good capper but he has a stupid mentality when it comes to the NBA. Maybe he should stick to football and baseball. I like his football picks best.

Again, avoiding the elephant(s) in the room. LA/Sac gam Timmy D. That game could not be explained away by incompetence, unless you believe the refs working that game could be incompetent over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, which is probably even mathematically impossible (even if math can't take into account the levels of human incompetence).

I been here a long time and odds are I have more money from gambling and winning across all sports then you do, just a hunch. You employ what works for you in gambling and I'll employ what works for me and why I'm still here.

Sore losers and quitters make excuses for when they lose by saying it was rigged. Are you a sore loser Louis?
Did you see me create a thread for this topic or any specific game I lost in the NBA? I'm actually doing well this playoffs, but I sure the fu ck don't just bet a game because I feel its the best play from the game data presented. List to Donohue. I've thought just the way he presented for a very long time. Why would the nBA not maximize their business returns???? It defeats the business purpose.
