"He's the best shooter of all time but he grabbed more on defense than Trae Young"... Trae Young is better...
@StumpTownStu
I posted the entire NFL postseason, and I said I put my $ on the bux to win it all at +850, which is why I don't post NBA plays. I said it's because I am better at football wagering than basketball.
I said that at least a month ago, when I said Bux +850 and got into it with bb about the Nets-seems he is right I'm wrong.
That said I'll put up an NBA play soon, as soon as the Bux are eliminated.
I'm older than you, I've been at this for decades, and I take my precious time. It's not football season yet.

He score more.
"...but Monta..."
Dished out more assists
"...but Monta..."
Scores more. Scores more in the paint. Gets to the line more. Dishes out more assists. Turns it over less when compared against usage. Rebounds even. Commits fewer personal fouls and all this can be said even when compared against Steph's first full season without Monta when he was 3-4 years older with one more year in the league.
"...but shooting percentage..."
This has been a waste. I'm done.

He's the primary ball handler who has the ball in his hands all the time. He had more assists than Steph this year, is he better than Steph right now, ha ha. There is absolutely nothing Trae Young does that is good enough that makes him even close to being better than a 22 year old 48/44/93 Steph Curry. Heck, Ja Morant is 21 and looked just as good or better in the playoffs than Trae. Luka looked better. You telling me the 3rd best 21/22 year old is better than a 22 year old Steph, who's arguably the most skilled offensive player in basketball history.

I can't keep doing this. You seem to have an itch up your ass for me. I get it. I can sometimes rub some people the wrong way, as can most of us but I refuse to have a nemesis on this site. I've got no beef with you. This thread contains my personal opinion when comparing and contrasting two players at the age of 22, one of which I watched extensively when he was 22 because he played/plays for my home team. A team i'm a huge fan of and have rarely missed their games.

@ThrowDemDarts
All 3 of those guys at 22 are better than Steph at 22. Luka>Ja>Morant but all are better at 22 than Steph at 22. As someone said earlier, D.Rose at 22 was better than Steph at 22. Doesn't mean he's better than Steph. You can't even talk about Steph's game at 22. You clearly weren't watching the Warriors at 22. That's why you keep listing his shooting percentages. You had the audacity to say Steph was better at finishing at the rim at 22. Steph scored like 4 points in the paint at 22, most on floaters and short junpers. Trae scores over 10 even though he's 3"-4" shorter. You ignore assists but make no mistake, Steph is the point guard. He was the point even when Monta was there but was undoubtedbly the point, primary ball handler, and leader when Monta left. He lacked/lacks natural point instinct (Draymond plays the role as a point forward) Made, and still makes, sloppy passes which lead to fastbreak points the other way. These are all facts. I've given basketball fundamentals ad nauseam in this thread and all you've done in continuously list Steph's shooting percentage. That's your one argument. If you think shooting percentage is all that makes a player better, this has been a huge waste. Everyone knows Steph was a better shooter at 22.

Football's my thing too. Mostly college. And small conference college basketball. I'm not huge in wagering on the NBA, which has too many inconsistencies to accurately handicap in the long run. You really have to specialize to find exploitable angles. I do ok in baseball. Mainly I look for favorable opportunities and pitching match-ups for F5 unders. I'm very much a sabermetric handicapper in baseball. In football, i'm a traditional X & O capper.

Yea, it's strange for someone who claims to have watched him that much. The dude was a 48/44/93 shooter as a 22 year old, ha ha. I follow college bball more than the NBA, and the stuff he was doing in college was insane. Much better ball handler, mid range, finisher, 3 pt shooter. Just a much better offensive player. And I remember all the hype about Trae Young being the next Steph because he has similar build and game style, so I watched a bunch of him in college, there was nothing special. He shows glimpses of being like Steph when he is on fire, but he's so inefficient, it's just not close. Steph was special. He was better at 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22. Not really even close. Trae is a good up and coming young player, but better than steph at 22? Please. That's comedy.

I'm not spoiled. Just a realist. I'm not a prisoner to whimsy. To fairytale bullshit. To revisionist history. I can be subjective about a player and team I truly love. I'm sincerely using the word love about Steph Curry and the Warriors but i'm being honest about his game at 22.

@ThrowDemDarts
He had better handle but was a sloppy passer that committed costly turnovers. That's a fact. You say he was a better finisher. He scored 4 points in the paint compared to over 10 for Trae. Another fact supported by stats. You make excuses. You blame Monta so to be fair I compared Trae to Steph's numbers from his first season without Monta. Scored more. Same rebounds. More assists. More FT attempts. Less personal fouls. I say all you do is list shooting percentages which shows how simplistic your understanding of basketball is and you list shooting percentages again.

holy shit this thread still going
bb starts a thread for a "debate" then calls anyone who disagrees with him a dummy or a troll......thats some next level shit right there
ash tray might be as good at 22 as steph curry was at 22, curry didnt take the league by storm by any means and had a nagging ankle injury......but id still give curry the nod at 22, you could see glimpses of greatness.....not sure of a great comp for ash tray but its not steph

You are the same guy who picked Denver against the Suns, correct? Just checking.

I accept all logical arguments. But these guys aren’t dealing with facts, only fantasies. I’ll concede the fact that Curry was a better shooter at 22 but these guys won’t concede the fact that there is a lot more to basketball than shooting: leadership, poise, passing, turnovers, the ability to draw fouls at key moments, getting in the paint, etc., all of which Young is better at than Curry at the same age.
