But these guys aren’t dealing with facts, only fantasies. I’ll concede the fact that Curry was a better shooter at 22 but these guys won’t concede the fact that there is a lot more to basketball than shooting: leadership, poise, passing, turnovers, the ability to draw fouls at key moments, getting in the paint, etc., all of which Young is better at than Curry at the same age.
If you’re bringing up Traes ability to draw fouls you’re pretty much in desperation mode, ha ha. Steph Currys shooting is what makes him a better basketball player than Trae. Trae does nothing that well to make him better than a 22 year old Steph. And 48/44/93 is a fact. Steph was a better basketball at 22 and it’s not even close. It’s comedy distance away.

You are a dense. I named 5-6 things he was better at and you cherry pick one thing, drawing fouls, and then proceed to give me Curry’s shooting percentages for the thousandth time. Btw, there are guys in the NBA who built their careers living at the line so you are completely wrong in that regard as well. You may not like it, or understand it, since you seem to be fixated on shooting percentages like it’s a fetish or something, but great basketball players come in all shapes and sizes and styles.

You’ll love this. Bill Simons, an NBA aficionado if there ever was one, just compared Young to vintage Steve Nash on his podcast, and said he is the next great point guard. You should write angry letters to him explaining why you think Young sucks, why he has no business comparing him to Nash, and why you are so much more knowledgeable than him or anyone who dares claim that Young is great. Maybe your buddy Dave and that other troll Bud can join you. I’m sure he would love to hear from you.

jeezus H. christ,is throw dem darts a bot??or just a braindead zombie totally lacking in any critical thought or nuanced form of comprehension whatsoever??
he has almost literally re-posted the exact same fuqqing comment about 30 different times in this thread and refuses to address in detail what is being said back to him....dude did the same damn thing in one of masterkush threads a while back..top notch,world-class dummy....imagine knowing this guy in real life and having a discussion with dude.be like speaking to a robot.
its pretty clear from the beginning that what metrics/aspects each side of the debate values more highly is different,so it all comes down to opinion/subjectivity as always....but why the need for each side to inanely smash their heads against a brick wall for 13 straight pages repeating the same thing over and over is beyond me...with these things its immediately obvious neither side will budge so just leave your point ONCE and move on...unless you later on wanna bring something new, which hasnt happened since about page 3 i suspect.
my 2 cents is that stumptown stu made a more compelling argument and seeing as how i didnt watch steph till he came to national prominence i would tend to lean towards that argument..shooting is of course highly valued but there are many other aspects to the game

Absolutely none of those things are good enough to make him better than a 22 year old Steph. Trae is no where near Stephs skill level at 22. He’s gotten better though. But only a crazy person would think a low efficient, poor defending, above average pg is better than arguably the most skilled offensive player in the history of basketball at the same age, ha ha.

People have been comparing Trae Young to great players for a long time. Before it was Steph Curry, but now that he hasn't gotten better at shooting, it's now he could potentially be like Steve Nash. That's fine, maybe he will grow in to that. I don't dislike him and think he's a great young player. He's just not better than a 22 year old steph curry. It's not even close.

if we could only be as knowledgeable as bb...like stu find a girlfriend or whoever who just says "yes" to everything the God says

I thought you'd leave this thread alone after you "laughed last" the other night. I figured i'd be the bigger man and leave this thread alone in the hopes it would die but you had to put my name in your mouth because you are a fucking dick rider. You talk about how you're so good and you cash bets and that's all that matters but you fucking suck. Let's see what you have come football season. I mean, you're talking about the Super Bowl, which maybe special to you but is just another game to a real capper, you're talking about that shit in June. If that isn't some loser shit. On the night of your posted minus money dog shit Bruins pick, I posted a plus money Suns pick where I sold points. Did I come brag? I know you would've talked big shit if your horse shit play came in but did I? Did I bump the thread to call you out. I win all the time, the shit doesn't faze me. Win or lose, on to the next. You're still talking about the SB in summer time like it's the only wager you've ever won. It was Tom Brady against a lackluster defense and an offensive line missing 3 or 4 dudes and both tackles. Real sharp capping there, buddy. What, are you gonna suck your own dick on that one until Halloween? Is it because nobody else will suck that shriveled up thing? You live in Vegas, right? Do yourself a favor. Take your SB winnings and get yourself a prostitute, you sad lonely fuck. Jesus Christ, this thread needs to die.

To a real capper, a winning capper, it's just another game. It big for touts to make their last big money off of suckers. It big for the weekend warrior novice handicapper. "Oh my god, it's the Super Bowl. Last game of the year!" Answer me this, does the money spend any different? Is it greener. On Super Bowl Sunday I typically have more on a freaking Horizon league basketball game then you probably have on the Super Bowl. This is how I know you're a loser. 1)To put special significance on the Super Bowl as if the money cares where it comes from. The Super Bowl is huge because it brings out all the amateurs. 2) You brag about a win from February in June. I wouldn't care if you had 100k on it. It was one pick... in February. And you're still bragging about it which says you aren't used to winning. Since you're such an expert, what makes the Super Bowl any different than other game other than it bringing out all the rookies? From a handicapping standpoint, what makes it different? It's for weekend warriors. The people who only bet on shit like the Super Bowl. And like I said, it'a for touts to make their biggest money on said suckers, which is a group i'm sure you fit in.

My bad, dude. I just looked it up. Apparently the house is required to give you extra odds on the Super Bowl because it's a special. I guess it really is different than any other football game. That's why the average Joe flocks to Vegas to drop the money that they could've dropped on any random game in November. All those suckers were on to something. Apparently the Super Bowl gives bonus odds. My mistake.

over half a billion dollars was waged at legal sportsbooks on the Super Bowl.
If you want to make $ in this business, you can only put your $ on the biggest of all games. if you put your $ on the nets tonight like it's put on the super bowl, you'll be hawked or comp'ed like an enemy or a vip.
People wait 2 weeks to put $ on the super bowl. That's like 14 nights of nba action + some. every book knows football is where the cash is at.
If you bet every sport, all the time, all year round, your brain becomes mush and you become a sucker. there is 0-absolutely no-chance that you aren't better in one sport than another. it's your job to figure out what sport.
Take it from someone who has done this for decades.
don't take it personally, you got a clue, but bb is lost imo. i think you're a player, bb is a straight shooter. i don't know if he'll ever figure it out, but he's not in the ballpark yet. jmo, could b wrong.

I just won a halftime wager on a random basketball game in Chile this afternoon...i bet the home team blindly because the analytics of the 1H and ingame line movements pointed to them being the play...it ended up winning...after the game, i dug into the teams and realized i backed a 4-10 home team vs a 14-0 road team...and guess what, correct me if im wrong Stu, a winning bet in February on Chile hoops = a winning bet in June on the superbowl if the betting units are the same...atlteast thats what ive come to understand after reading sports betting for dummies 20 years ago

Playmaking - Trae only because Steph isn't a true pg
Finishing - Steph
Looks - Steph
One on One play - Steph
Off the ball catch and shooting - Steph
Spot up shooting - Steph
Long range shooting - Steph
Drawing Fouls - Trae
Really not even close. Trae gets a slight edge on playmaking because he's a true pg and a major edge on drawing fouls because that's what the game is becoming. Otherwise Steph has a major edge on anything shooting and efficiency, which is what makes him arguably the most skilled offensive player in history.

Back to 22 year old Steph and Trae

I'm best at football, mostly college, and mostly small conference. The lines are less influenced by general public and therefore more honest. The Super Bowl makes or breaks so many people's years because the spend a season losing only to hope they can break even or go up on the biggest, and last game of the year. Touts try to save face. Most give out both sides to split the difference. Tell me i'm lying. Tell me all that action on the SB isnt't driven by novice every blue moon punters? Guys who have no business wagering in the first place. Say it. I dare you.
