Trae is a lot better than i thought he'd be. He's definitely a premier player at this point and sky is the limit for him. I wonder how good he'd be if he put on some more muscle and got stronger like a dame lillard type.

it’s still to early to tell man. They are in there what? 3rd year? Not even mad at there prime... give it time.
Thats like comparing Mahomes to the GOAT (Brady)... to early to tell. Only time will tell. Also depends on what accolades you choose to grade...

This post is so true...Curry paved the way for players like Booker and Young...lanky shooters with insane athleticism and speed. The analytics of the game evolved into this 3 pt shooting competition because of the success Curry had...without Steph, would a guy like Young even be drafted in the 1st round? Maybe not.
Doncic and Young have to do this for a decade before being in Stephs league

You are completely missing the point. We are comparing the two players at the same stage of their careers. Jesus Christ doesn’t anyone know how to read anymore.

Not missing the point at all. Trae is not better than Curry at this point. He doesn’t shoot well enough. Unless you’re just basing this on points scored which doesn’t really say who’s better.

He is better than Curry at the same age though. He's not the pure shooter that Steph is but it's clear he's modeled his game after him and he's more explosive than Curry at that age. You could see it at Oklahoma. He's smaller than Curry though. Curry is a legit 6'2-3". Trae is, what, 5'11"? 6'? That was the only doubt I had about him coming out of college but he has made me a believer the past couple seasons. I still take Luka because of his size and true point mentality. Trae isn't really that guy and at his size will never be an NBA defender.

Better at what? Having the ball in his hands more and taking more shots?

There are so many factors to consider, you are missing the boat if you are just looking at shooting percentage. For example, Young is shooting from the kind of distance Curry is shooting now but that the younger Curry didn’t. That would certainly affect one’s shooting percentage. And that’s to say nothing of his court vision and passing as well as his Hardenesque ability to draw fouls, which Curry never really had.

His poor shooting is not because of distance, lol. He’s just not that efficient of a shooter. He’s a primary ball handler. Curry is many times off the ball offensive assassin he is not going to have as many assists as Trae ever. There is nothing Trae is better at than Curry at this age other than drawing fouls. I’ll give Trae that skill. He’s an elite foul drawer.

I’m the biggest Curry fan there is and I don’t recall him having this kind of poise or skill at this age. He was an elite shooter, than Young, but a better all around player capable of embarrassing the best team in his conference in a playoff game?! I don’t think so. No way no how. If you have proof, show it, and don’t tell me about stats and pure shooting percentages.

You're just arguing circumstance. Trae is on a better team, playing in the Eastern conference, and the primary ball handler. Steph's first 2nd round game of his life was against the dynasty spurs and he put up 44 points. There is nothing Trae is better at than Steph at this age other than having opportunities to be the primary ball handler and being on a better team. Steph was and always will be at every age a better basketball player than Trae.

It is fun to watch someone excel at a young age. You’re playing into the hands of head line creators to focus on a single player and not mention the coach or the team he is on. I think the Hawks coach is the real hero right now. Trae and the Hawks still have a very tough series ahead. That debate is ok years later after seeing that player actually lead a team to one or more championships. In the near time, congrats on winning your Hawks bet.

He's more explosive. I said this. What, is this Trae's 3rd season? Curry's game was still filling out. I was going to 20+ Warriors games a year in Curry's first few seasons. I'm a Warriors homer. Saw almost every game of him coming up.

He was a better college player, better nba player. Came in to the league with efficiency that’s rarely seen from someone that early in their career. Only difference was Monta Ellis was the primary ball handler and took too many shots. Once they got rid of him Currys game didn’t get better they simply just gave him the ball more. He was always better than Trae. It’s asinine for anyone to say poor shooting Trae is a better player than Steph was at this age, lol.

I think you're guilty of revisionist history. You're talking the Steph Curry that first burst onto the big scene. Not Steph in his first two or three years. Steph was a better college in college at this point, as a pro, Trae is better. I don't believe he will be better in the long run. Steph's game has gradually improved over the years. His handle, his ability to finish at the rim, etc but at this point, Trae is a better player. Like I said, I was going to 20-30 Warriors games a year back then and watching just about every other game. Sometimes twice. I'm a lifer with this team.
