There is no specific year that curry became the most skilled offensive player of all time. His entire body of work and sustained efficiency since college is why he's considered one of the greatest of all time. You thinking a ball dominant, poor shooting, stat accumulating guard is better than steph curry at the same age because his team is having success in the eastern conference is hilarious. Not surprising at all though considering your behavior. Trae Young is like a Derrick Rose or Russell Westbrook without the elite athleticism. I can't see how anyone could watch Game 7 and then todays game and think whatever it was that was on the court was a better player than a 48/44/93, 22 year old steph curry. Eeeesh.

I don't know how you go from "entire body of work" to, "he was the same player at 22 as he was 27". That's some kind of logic there bud. The answer is simple that's why I keep repeating it. What separates Steph Curry from Russell Westbrook, Allen Iverson, Derrick Rose, Ja Morant, and now Trae Young is his efficiency. If you like inefficient stat accumulators, that's fine. I'm an efficiency guy. What Steph Curry was capable of doing at 22 is far better to me than just young athletic dudes accumulating stats while being poor shooters. Give me just some average dude who can dribble and distribute the ball with 22 year old steph curry over Trae Young and some average shooter any day. 22 year old steph would dominate Trae. Wouldn't really even be close, Trae definitely couldn't guard Steph and Steph would have trouble guarding Trae but since Trae shoots like Blake Griffin he'd end up getting worked.

You're a basketball amateur and there is no doubt this is the first time you've ever seen Trae play. He's just on a better team with shooters and defenders that can make up for his inefficiencies. Because he played the exact same way last year and the team sucked.

these are what we are comparing ladies and gents...the guy at the bottom is in the midst of carrying his team to the ECF when not a single pundit on planet earth thought they had the talent to make that step this soon prior to the season commencing....the guy at the top could not even sniff the playoffs his first 3 years,was relatively weak and couldnt do much in the paint nor create as many looks for his teammates.

 

and yet captain douche here claims that the guy with LESSER STATS and LESSER ACCOMPLISHMENTS is not only better..but "far better","its not even close".

Maybe adding Capela, Bogdanovic, Galinari, Lou Williams and Collins/Huerter improving helped. You're just a fan of inefficient stat accumulators. That's fine. They're still good players, just won't be remembered like Steph since efficiency is what makes Steph better than any of these guys. Even 22 year old steph. Put 22 year old steph on this Hawks team with all their efficient shooters, my lord they'd be a beast in the weak east.

im not a "fan" of any player archetype..though smaller and midsize guys are more my style of player to choose to watch..nice work completely fabricating another assertion about a total stranger though.thumbs_up...but more specifically no i am not a fan of trae young at all...i would much,much,much rather watch curry.all day every day and twice on sundays..he is one of the most compelling,entertaining sportsmen i have seen in my lifetime...trae??eh,take it or leave it..he does entertain as well but just not my cup of tea.

What Steph Curry could do at 22 is way more impressive than what Trae does. We've seen ball dominant, inefficient stat stuffers before. Derrick Rose won an MVP at 22 being an inefficient stat stuffer. Being a poor defender and not even being a top 100 shooter is a deal breaker. You're not better than a 22 year old Steph. ZERO chance. I really hope Trae does figure out his shooting though, I like him.

I've answered all your questions, you just don't like the answers and keep repeating the same thing over and over again when you realize you're wrong. You have basic basketball knowledge and don't understand why Trae Young is just another guard in a long line of guards that can't shoot. I'm just not that impressed by guards that are inefficient shooters. It still takes skill to do what they do, just not as much skill as doing what Steph does. That's what made Steph a game changer and an all time great. This is just the first time you've seen Trae, I get it, I was so hyped to see him play in college and as a rookie but was left disappointed when he had game after game of building brick houses. What steph did at 22 is far more impressive to me than what Trae is doing. I've seen guys who can dribble and pass, it's not that impressive to me any more. Give me 22 year old steph on this Hawks team over Trae any day. Now that would be a sight to see with all their shooters.

i would agree with you at this point..i was simply repeating throwdemlies premise that he is "the most skilled offensive player ever"...he is quite dumb and all he can do is repeat that phrase over and over again..so it may be a technicality but nobody claimed he is the outright best ever or even top 10..he might be close to it by the time he is done though..top 10 that is.....but just being that size and not playing defense obviously puts you at a disadvantage when compared to the absolute all-time legends of the game.

The list of players to win 2 or more NBA MVP's is a very short list....only 14 players in NBA history.  Then add on 4 time all NBA 1st team and 3 time campion...If Curry could win MVP next year...He will absolutely cement himself as a top 10 player.....NO Doubt...
