The "most skilled offensive player of all time" couldn't even get to the rack at 22. Averaged around 4 points in the paint. And he made ridiculous bonehead turnovers. I love Steph Curry. I love the Warriors. I don't think Trae will ever match what Steph has become but Steph was super flawed at 22. Trae's inefficient, ball dominant style, as ugly as it it at times, translated directly to the pros. He distributes the rock. He gets into the paint. He gets to the line, which gets scoffed at, but is extremely important in basketball. Steph looked great at Davidson but it took him several years to find his game at the pro level. It wasn't because of Monta, or the garbage team, it was his own physical limitations. They brought in specialists. Strengthened his body, his ankles. Changed his entire physiology. We was still a work in progress in his first full season without Monta, when he was 3 or 4 years older than Trae is now. You've admitted Steph doesn't distribute the ball as well. You make the excuse that he's not a true PG but he is though. So that's a flaw. The numbers dictate that he wasn't better in the paint. Neither is a good defender. So all you're saying is Steph was a better jump shooter at 22, which nobody can deny. That's a moot point.
if you go back about 3 pages, which im sure you wont, you will see that i pointed out the MOST OBVIOUS THING IN THE WORLD about currys career arc.which is the stark improvement he made in his game from age 21-25 in both physical body changes and in skill development...NOBODY ON THE PLANET saw it coming and it is a credit to him that he was able to work himself into becoming what he has...even the most casual basketball fan knows this about curry..that,whilst he was a nice, promising player as a rookie he was never, ever, ever a supernova from the jump that was destined to dominate the league and alter the way the game is approached.
but seemingly, old dumb-dumb dart-thrower here just isnt aware of this (astonishingly enough)...he has been calling 22 year old curry the best skilled player ever for about 20 straight pages..you just cant talk sense into this idiot and he refuses to answer a single question any time it is raised.

You need to stop listening to the voices in your head because they’re telling you things I haven’t said. Steph at 22 in the nba shot 48/44/93 with 19/6. Game was different when he came in the league which is why they say he changed the game. You thinking some inefficient ball dominant guard that struggles at defense is better than a 22 year old Steph because he’s accumulated more stats makes sense to me. You don’t seem like you have everything working up top if you know what I mean. voices in my head????..O M F G.. are you telling me that you NEVER WROTE the words "most offensively skilled player of all time" when referring to 22 year old curry???i mean its only happened about 37 times...because ya know, youre very very dumb or some kind of malfunctioning robot.....jeezus christ,am i gonna have to dig up every single quote of yours to make you look even more stupid than what you already do???sigh.....okay then, here we go. p.s. aint no need to start randomly rounding stuff up just to make "your boy" look good..i mean surely the "greatest offensively skilled player of all time" doesnt need that??......ACTUAL NUMBERS-18.6 points per game,5.8 assists per game.NOT 19 & 6. either way that is fairly paltry production for ALL THAT SKILL that he had at that point in time...you know, being that he was "most skilled in history"
You’re unhinged. How can you possibly confuse me saying Steph is one of the most skilled players of all time to “Steph was the most skilled player of all time at 22”. You’re not even capable of comprehending basic statements. It doesn’t surprise me you can’t conceptualize the time Steph came in the nba vs the league Trae came in too. 22 year old Steph coming in to the league he created, would be way better Trae. Not even close.

sorry little guy..not dealing with hypotheticals here..trae is playing in THIS LEAGUE right now..steph played in the league he played in at the time and did what he did....nobody gives a fucc about your fantasy scenario where you wanna switch things around and pretend that young steph would have all of a sudden averaged 30 and 10 if he played now...we deal with FACTS and what actually happens in real life..he WASNT GOOD ENOUGH to average 25 and 9 back when he was 22 years old, thats why he didnt.if he could have he would have.....he "changed the game" once his skillset and body were transformed to the point where he was able to and his coaches/team-mates had faith in him to do so and could support him in that endeavour..if he could have done it in his first and second year HE WOULD HAVE.....why in the fucc would he have "waited" 4 years to dominate and change the game???..that makes no sense.his improvement is what allowed that transition to being the focal point of the league that he became.
so basically what you are telling us right here and now is that curry in fact WAS NOT the "most skilled offensive player of all time" at age 22??
JUST A SIMPLE YES OR NO WILL SUFFICE.
and then we can all rest easy knowing that your credibilty is basically at zero after proving yourself to be a repeated, habitual LIAR.i mean you cant really call it an "honest mistake" when you stubbornly, ignorantly repeat it for 20 straight pages can ya?

If you’re incapable of understanding the difference between when Steph came in to the league than when Trae did, then that’s on you. I have the ability to understand the difference. 22 year old Steph coming in to the league he created, my lawd!! Imagine thinking a 22 year old small pg who can’t play D and can’t shoot is better than a 22 year old Steph Curry,

The thing that’s so impressive about Steph is even after a decade there is no one who can play at his level of skill and efficiency. Luka/Ja/Lamelo/Trae, all the guys in between, they just can’t do it. I can’t even fathom how good a player with Ja’s athleticism and Currys efficiency would be. I dream of watching that player one day. Until then we just get to watch a lot of bulk inefficient shooters. Which is depressing because a player like Luka with the efficiency of Steph would be one of the most enjoyable players to watch.

so this has what it has come to,ladies and gents..this is the point we are at...dude has officially LOST THE "DEBATE" that was started in the thread and is instead now moving on to another argument where he introduces his very own fantasy scenarios where "if this guy played then and that guy played now and my uncle was my auntie and...and..and.."
oh well,at least you have conceded...never seen anyone need to be beaten into submission the way you needed to be but its a small step i suppose...you seem like the kind of moron who has never changed his mind before due to the fact that you are irrationally stubborn and willfully ignorant...but kudos to you,we are all wrong about things, its no big deal...although a little embarrassing that your loss was played out on the interwebz for all to see.

The debate is who is a better player at 22. You are using their nba stats as a barometer. Not adding any context to those stats just makes you dumb. Are you really incapable of understanding different circumstances would play a role in the stats they put up? Seems like the entire point of this argument,
Is your entire argument really that Trae scores more points and has more assists? Ha ha ha. Doesn’t surprise me that’s your level of basketball knowledge.

good day,sir..YOU LOSE!!!!!
absolutely humiliating...embarrassing beyond words when, instead of conceding that you are wrong you jump to the next option of "well the only reason i might possibly perhaps may be wrong is cos its unfair on curry that he played at the wrong time so he wasnt good enough at that time but if he played in traes time he would have been good enough"
most convoluted, obtuse, steaming pile of shi.t ever typed on the interwebzzzzz

i mean the amount of slurping you do is just about unprecedented.

just one more wee question you can add to the ever mounting pile that you have yet to answer...if it was STEPH that was averaging 7 points more and 4 assists more at the same age would the stats be irrelevant then??if everything was switched....say trae was the accurate shooter that was less productive overall and steph was the one that had the better points, assists and PER.
im 100 fuggin % POSITIVE that you would be screaming from the rooftops about how obvious it is that guy with the BETTER OVERALL PRODUCTION had the better season...but nope,in this case its a bizarre guy flipping it upside down and we all living in bizarro-world where the numbers dont matter anymore.......oh,except for the one stat in currys favour of course.

The bulk stat argument is the most casual basketball argument there is. If you can conceptualize a scenario in which 22 year old Trae and 22 year old Steph are on the same court together and you think Trae Young would be the better player

no need for you to keep coming back in here...once you have shifted the goalposts and have to start making up fantasy scenarios where "your guy" can win ITS OVER,you lose.you have conceded.....

"b-b-b-b-but its not fair..poor little steph wasnt allowed to play at the right time and...and..and...oh yeah, points and assists and PER dont matter anyway!!!!never have, nobody cares about that stuff..its just cos youre a "casual" and not a basketball genius/savant like me that you cant see it." a guy who struggles to formulate a sentence without repeating the same thing he has already written 253 times...thats the guy calling others basic and casual.......interweb is a wild, wacky, wonderful place full of all sorts of strange creatures.
There is nothing more casual than using bulk stats and team success as an argument that one player is better than another. Trae has played this same way since college and came in to the nba with no competition on his team for playing time or ball handling. At no age has he been better than the same age steph. He’s not that special. I have no clue what you’re watching. Can he draw fouls better than a 22 year old Steph? Sure. I’ll give him that.

cool story little fella.
why you keep coming back to this thread?you already conceded when you stopped arguing that steph was better and instead started inventing scenarios where he would HAVE TO PLAY IN TODAYS GAME to be able to have better production to match trae....you LOST.
once you abandon one argument and try and shift to another you LOSE..by default....you have given up on the argument so you LOSE.
HAHAHAHAHA,wait what??so trae came in with no comp for playing time/ball-handling??fair enough.....what about steph then??his warriors team was trash.you tryna tell us that he couldnt get enough run or responsibility because there was so much proven talent around him???
not that it would matter anyway..i mean when youre the "most skilled offensive player ever" you will force coaches to play you and give you the ball.
oh no wait, youve already backtracked on that claim and admitted that its a dirty, non sensical fuggin lie youve been incessantly repeating for 20 pages so scratch that.

Sure you can use them if there is context. Your problem is you provide no context. Like why are his numbers pretty similar for 4 years including his one year in college? Where is the progression that took a guy who wasn’t as good as Curry in college to a guy better than a 22 year old Steph playing pretty much the exact same way.
Youve never watched Trae play before these playoffs. Nothing he has done so far is surprising for anyone who has, because this is who he’s always been. The team around him just got much better. Steph was a far more polished and skilled player than Trae was at 22. Not even close.

nobody cares if he never progressed (which he clearly did),nobody cares if he didnt get better since college (which he clearly did),the only thing that matters is WHO WAS BETTER AT 22.and you have convincingly LOST that argument and are now moving on to all sorts of other strange tangential topics like "how much did trae improve though?" and "what is the "context" of his production?" and "lets pretend that steph played in the same current era!!"
weird guy
you lose and then stay in the same thread tryna start entirely different discussion topics and acting like theyre the same thing.

and STILL,you are yet to tell us what we are meant to use,if not basic stats and team performance????
youre one bizarre fuccin dude...saying that we arent allowed to use the things that would be used in EVERY OTHER BASKETBALL DEBATE IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND and then refusing to tell us what we should instead use..like you are the only basketball "savant" who knows the "secret formula" for assessing a players worth.
