Warriors/Raptors Series Pick

Gentlemen!

I’ve been itching for some action patiently waiting through this final stretch of the NBA season & looking ahead to football and ive overanalyzed the shit out of this matchup it’s a little lengthy but lets go.

Dead wrong about the Rockets & Bucks but I was high on those teams all year and couldn’t see beyond that (emotions?) while I never trusted the Raptors so Im looking at both teams in the Finals objectively right now and here’s what I realize:

The Toronto Raptors can beat this Warriors team!

Golden State really isn't that much better than Toronto. Let's look at the talent including the benches:

Leonard, Gasol, Siakam, Lowry, Green, Ibaka, Powell, & post child birth Freddy Van Fleet

vs.

Curry, Thompson, Green, Iggy, Looney, Jerebko, Bogut, & Livingston

Toronto 1

The Warriors have the edge in experience and they’re champions, but Kawhi is also a champion and he’s disciplined and will play his game and he’s demonstrated a number of times that he can handle Golden State. Steve Kerr knows it and Kawhi and the whole Raptors team know that he knows it and how flattering to Kawhi that Kerr is asking Pop for help?!

I expect Danny Green to contribute more than he did against the Bucks. He’s been here before.

Everyone for Toronto will need to contribute.

I like them to win game 1, and odds makers do to. But taking Toronto for the series is more appealing to me than -110 juice on the game, even though you could easily make a case for the Warriors to win the series if they lose that first game and they only need to win one of the first two on the road to take back home court...

Pretty sure I lost some value since this opened but I’m gonna have fun with this bet and hope for a lot of things to go right for the Raptors and a little bit of Kawhi magic, to take down the most vulnerable Warriors team I’ve seen since they started their run 5 years ago.

You are likely not aware Big Hoss, since you left his name of the list, that Durant will return before this series is over. Indeed, he is traveling with the team to Toronto, something he did not do to Portland.  

Durant will play in Game 2. Hope that doesn't shake you confidence.

He hasnt practiced since injury still waiting to be evaluated, i think its more likely they announced he was traveling to Toronto strategically thinking the Raptors spend time preparing for him

My thinking is that Durant and Cousins will not play at all.  They suffered significant injuries already and will not jeopardize big paydays to help the Warriors in what promises to be a brutal and closely contested series against the hungrier Raptors.  Durant is due for a career-boosting mega-contract with probably the Knicks, which would be negatively affected with another serious injury.  Cousins up-and-down value to GS would discourage Kerr from risking the huge change in team chemistry and focus in the middle of the Finals.  Raptors in 6.

The Raptors have 2 former defensive players of the year in Leonard & Gasol, and Siakam is also a top tier defender. Toronto is top 10 shooting the 3 and top 10 defending the 3 this should be a hell of a series my job is done here let’s get it Toronto 

You sure KD will be able to play in Game 2? Josh Donaldson had the same calf strain KD does and he was out for months. I doubt KD plays in Toronto possibly next Wednesday for Game 3 in Oakland but will he be 100% that's the real question you need to ask yourself. 

I have my reasons why I like Toronto maybe I’m wrong but honestly you sound like such an amateur in your threads. Act like you’ve been there before. Best of luck
