The Pelicans are coming off their worst loss in franchise history, losing by 46 to Dallas. They have lost 8 in a row. And their next two are against the bucks and sixers on the road. If they don't win tomorrow at home against the lowly Pistons, they are looking at 11 straight losses. They have one of the worst coaches in the NBA. They have one of the most dysfunctional rosters. And the team admitted after that Dallas loss that they really don't play hard. While the coach admitted that he does not do a good enough job motivating his guys. If it wasn't for the fact that they were playing Detroit, with second most dysfunctional team in 4th h edd NBA and the second worst coach, I'd never back them. As it is, we have no choice but to back one of the worst teams in the nba, in this matchup from hell, in one of the sweetest spots in all of sports: the national embarrassment angle.
Pelicans -1
Did you no the Raptors had not lost 3 in a row in almost a full calendar year! They not only suffered their first two losses at home at the hands of the heat and Rockets, but they also got it handed to them in Philly. Now they play the Bulls who are coming off their own back to back after falling to the Heat in overtime in Miami. The Raptors must be feeling pretty salty right about now, and with the Clippers and Kwai on deck in three days, they'll want to generate a little momentum and regain some of their confidence. Lose this one to the lowly Bulls, and now you are looking at possibly losing 5 in a row! Good teams usually bounce back in these spots, so I'll back the Raptors here.
Raptors -4.5

But if you are really worried about who will help guard them:
Derrick Favors (personal) is being listed as questionable for Mondays' game against the Pistons.
He's been away from the teaming grieving the loss of his mother, but it sounds like he could be back in action on Monday night for a home game against the Pistons. We'll have a better idea on his status after shootaround, but if he is able to get back out there, Jaxson Hayes and Jahlil Okafor's minutes will take a hit. Stay tuned.

Well pels yes, Detroit is garbage on the road anyway
raps I’m not sure, they’re not suppose to be top 4 team in the east this year, so 4 straight losses is possible, I hope they tank and get a good pick but doubt the league let them sink
good luck BB

Big Pelicans fan here.. from what I have seen, signs point towards Favors returning tonight, but I still would not be surprised if he does not go based on what he is dealing with. The Pelicans are a different team with Favors, still not good lol but there is a reason the Pelicans have lost 8 straight without him. Looking at in depth stats from last year, Favors was actually a better rim protector than Gobert when strictly looking at FG % of opponents when each contested shots. So, if he plays, I think the pelicans have a good shot to end this awful stretch. Hope he can go, could see a big game from him being that it is his first game after the passing of his mother and they were known for being super close. BOL

The Pelicans lost to the Mavs wasn’t on national tv though. Still the bounce back angle still might work here. Or let’s call it the rock bottom angle? Losing by 46, not sure how much worse it can get than that.

Another tidbit for the Pelicans. Currently on an 8 game losing streak, haven't won since November 21st. Following their game today, they play at Bucks and at 76ers. A loss tonight would have an 11 game losing streak on the table which would tie the longest in franchise history. I expect the Pelicans to give everything tonight and if that still isn't enough to beat a 9-14 team then I do not know what this team needs to change (maybe fire Gentry).

Feels like a coin flip game. Pelicans have played a very difficult schedule and the Pistons are nothing to write home about. They've lost to the Hornets and Bulls twice on the road. No result in this game would be surprising.

BB, take another look at the Raptors game brother. Bulls have a ton of motivation coming into this one. Revenge, off two losses, feeling confident with how they hung in there against a very good Heat team. I like the Bulls +6 here.

Look, when a team has not lost more than 3 in a row in over a season and a quarter, and is now playing a team they have beaten 10 straight, you have to back them until they lose. It's as simple as that.
