Well, I can tell you this, but not based on stats, just my observation following this team. Shanahan doesn’t seem to trust or like his defensive coordinator and you can see it in his body language on the sidelines. He was practically fuming when the Lions were gashing the Niners. He also made it a point to call out some defensive players this week who were not hustling and running hard in pursuit of the ball in the NFC title game, which is hard to believe. There is a disconnect and lack of trust there between the two coaches. SF is on their 3rd defensive coordinator in the Shanahan era and the Chiefs still have Spags who knows how to get after the QB. There is more continuity and cohesiveness on the Chiefs coaching staff. Everyone is on the same page and playing complimentary football. 

The other concern for the Niners is that their rookie kicker can’t be trusted. That’s a huge disadvantage going into a game that might be decided by a FG. The Niners path to victory is the running game. If they are not able to get the run going, I don’t think Purdy can beat the Chiefs with his arm.

 Bill Vinovich really blatant robbed San Fran superbowl 54. He is back again and I believe it's Taylor Swift "karma". Every call against San Fran or miss call against KC will be analyzed. I see many suspect calls against KC. If anyone owes San Fran it's Bill vinovich

All well written about your concerns about the 49ers' D. What is your opinion of the 49ers' secondary? 
It does seem to me that the D just isn't on the same page with the DC and they are a bit bewildered on the field. A definite dropoff from the 2019 season? 

I consider you one of 49ers' experts on covers. What do you think their plan will be to contain Kelce? Ravens' game 11 targets and 11 receptions? He ran wide open thru the Ravens' secondary. At 34 years old, I doubt if he can run a sub 5 second 40. 

I think Bosa and the entire defense looked awful.  But, is it an act? In the 2nd half they look amazing.  That goofball they picked up from Washington gets blown off the ball and always in bad position.  They run at him and attack him. I just think he is awful. He was supposed to be a dominant DE. He is very week and soft. I would love to see Trent Williams get a ring. Class act that had a tuff battle and overcame it. 

chase young is a star? 

Profesional athletes are humans, they have jobs to do just like anyone else. No one in the history of employment has ever not had bad days at work. Difference being the presence or lack thereof cameras everywhere to track and monitor performance levels, and or have it broadcasted to the world in live time.

Chase Young optics were not good on this one play, however he made several "All-Pro" type plays in the 2nd half as well. 

It's really hard being successful in life all the time, I recall Payton Manning being so awful one time that led to this all time greatest sound bite in NFL history:

 If they lose the SB, it will be on the d-line. The d-line that went to the previous SB for the Niners was vastly superior to this one, though this one is costing the team a lot more money. Those guys were lights out. 

That Niners team led the League in sacks if I remember correctly.....this Niners dline and team is not on that level.  This is a underachieving dline group, slightly above average NFL standards.  

Niners fans are banking on Wilks out maneuvering Spags.... good luck.  

More interesting trends on games played indoors....

Mahomes is 13-1 when playing indoors. 

Mahomes is 4-0 at Allegiant Stadium.  

Not only that, but the Niners are now calling out their defense for loafing it in the NFC title game!! I cannot recall a SB where something like this happened. As I said before, Shanahan and Wilkes are not on the same page and there is something wrong with that defense. The fact they are trying to motivate guys to play hard in the SB by calling them out in public is strange, to say the least.

A wise man once said in order to stay focused on the actual SB game for handicapping, it's vital to completely ignore any news reports or out of the normal type of story that comes out between the 2 weeks of when the conference games are played and the SB...everything that comes out during this 2 week period is almost always smoke with the sole intention to keep the NFL in the news, especially the entire first week off.

It's all nonsense and put out there for content in today's clickbaiting era of social media and the need for "articles" to hit quotas.

People who look into these type of storylines are typically the same type of people who watch soap operas, reality TV shows, bet 8 game ML favorite parlays weekly, watch porn at 10am religiously, and have countless other loser mentalities when it comes to sports betting.

People should strive to be better than victims to clickbaiting smokeshows. 

NFL simple concept when capping: if you can get the team with undeniably the better QB, coach and fg kicker as a dog on a neutral field, you take the points blindly and hope for the best.

Could this game end 31-30, 28-27, 24-23, 21-20 with the 49ers winning? Yes anything is possible, but KC would still cover in this 1 point win scenario.

And do not overlook the head ref Bill Vinovich factoring in the final decision of overall game flow management and 4Q theatrics,,,he has a well documented history of being favorable to KC during the Mahomes era.

good.  He had 2 sacks in the conference championship game and a ton of pressures both games. Packers and lions definitely have better olines than the chiefs, I expect him to be a savage if the refs don’t let them hold him all game again.
