Tomlin chose wrong. The Browns were obviously going for it on both downs if they didn’t make it on 3rd down. A field goal was never an option. So why take all the pressure off a one down winner take all 4th and 2 by giving them a 3rd and 7, where the Browns know they have two chances to get the first? He made the right call initially and then changed his mind. Bad decision, and I bet analytics would also agree.

Lol. Kick from there?! How could he think anyone would be kicking when his own punter could not get a clean punt off. I think he had a brain freeze!

@begginerboy I just made a separate thread about exactly this. I wasn’t sure if I was crazy or Tomlin is an idiot.
I have never seen a guy change his mind twice on accepting the penalty. I bet you the refs thought it was dumb as well. They tried to help him by twice announcing he refused it but he wasn’t going to be denied.
