5 reasons why I like Tennesse over Pittsburgh

We all love Pitt. How can you not if you gamble right?
Many people on covers are all over them...As they Should..The Steelers are very good and they have EARNED that respect.

Here is why I think Tennessee is the Play - not Pitt

1. It is in Tennessee.
In this case better to be @ home than in Pittsburgh
This is one of the biggest Regular season games for them in awhile.
The pesky Jets beat them at home but other than that blip they are very solid winning the 6 out of 7. I Wish the skins could do that.

2.  Every team is suspect to a letdown performance.
Pitt had a Big game vs a Good Division Opponent on the Road.
A Tough game physically speaking. here comes another one vs Tenn- and the Steelers has have won 6 in a row. A great run for any team but all runs come to an end at some point.

3. Tennessee is the better team right now. Last I checked the Titans are one of the Leagues Elite Teams and by no way shape or form a pushover The own a better record than Pitt and this game will Determine Home Field in the playoffs. As good as Pitt is - do not forget how good the Titans are - VERY GOOD-

4..The line has moved as the money has come in a few days ago and has not stopped. As you know that means people are all over PITT  here.

. buying a point here is great value,. Great team at home +3.5   teaser play here is favorable @ + 9.5 or maybe 10 if the line keeps going up.

5. Trends..for those of you Trendy folks I have a few takes on them. Both teams have some good ones going.

• Steelers are 4-0 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.
• Steelers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. win.
• Steelers are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games.

Titans are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss.
Titans are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games as a home underdog.
Titans are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games following a S.U. loss.

The ones that grab me Favor the Titans- the last 6 times after a loss they rebounded well and covered. 9 out of the Last 11 times they have rebounded with a cover..Good teams respond.

The loss of Haynesworth is literally and figuretively a HUGE loss
but Rome was not built by one man alone. Teams win games. Players make plays.

So I am taking Tennessee but waiting till game time to see if I can squeeze out another half point of the books and buy 1 point so I can have TENN +3.5 otherwise I will consider buying 1.5 points - it might prove to be worth it vs the Steelers.

True they have beaten some bad teams. But in today's day and age, that is harder than most people realize and you are what you are. meaning your record is your record.

 And according to the record they are an elite team - So you are saying they are not for real, OK but I disagree completely.

I think this team is solid - pitt is not without their aches n bruises..

You play the games on your schedule and the good teams win the games they should win. In my view that is what seperates the good from the bad- beating teams you should beat and covering!

The Jets beat them cause they were kind of due for a loss being unbeaten at the time. Same thing happened with the Giants,

the Giants beat up on some bad teams also - Sea Stl -etc.

 so it is all relative brotha.. Bottom line is this game is bigger for Tennessee so we shall see if they can beat the best!

Kerry Collins is better than perhaps u give credit. He saved this team from disaster when Vince Young showed his true colors..

How is it bigger for the Titans? THEY ARE PLAYING FOR THE EXACT SAME THING... the #1 seed. (Well, the Steelers would have to beat the Browns to close it out)

Well, If Tenn can win they will have won the Head to Head of course and that would insure the # 1 seed as no matter what Tenn locks it up for the playoffs even if Pitt beats Cleveland.

 This is in their House  they are in the lead by 1 game - It is theirs to loose so its more of a loss for Tenn

If Tenn looses - than Pitt can steal away the # 1 seed if they were to tie records in some tie breaker situation and if they win out which could happen

Keep in mind, I am not saying Tenn is going to go further than PITT in the playoffs, I am saying they are going to win this game,

 were to loose their last 2 games which is possible. So this is setting up to mean more for the Titans.

In other words if Pitt wins, they have to still hope that they win the tie breaker assuming Tenn wins their last game, tenn could loose 2 in a row and Pitt can take the # 1 seed.

you make some great points about the offense being a run 1st and ending up 3rd N Long. Turnovers - yes they can change the game -especially late , I feel they will win this by a FG perhaps.

I'm not sure you get it. If the Steelers win and beat the Browns, they are the #1 seed. If the Titans win, they clinch it. It boils down to this game, period.The 1st tie breaker is h2h. The Steelers would have that won if they win. They would then have to beat the Browns, but you know that is almost a lock. There wouldn't have to be anything else.

It wouldn't shock me if the Titans won this game at all. I just don't know how they will. They didn't win all those games sucking. They won them because they find ways to win. Exactly why they are in the position they are in.

but Pitt still has to win 2 in a row. A lock vs Cleveland perhaps but no game is ever a gimme. If there were we would bet all the money we have in our bank accounts on the money line..But I agree, they will beat the hapless browns..

I can tell you one way the Titans pull out a win, if they get the breaks, calls and other outside elements such as Turnovers like u mentioned earlier.

Maybe a bad call decides this game, It would be a complete shame of course but we have seen it happen way to often...

Gold Rush- you're not hating, and i love the points you've made...nice outlook, and i would love to go TEN, mainly b/c PIT is such a huge public choice and looks too easy...but i would be very worried about no haynesworth and vandenbosch, those two are the best at their position in the AFC when healthy...last yr, in the 3 games with no haynesworth, i think TEN gave up an avg of 32 pts per....do you think their injuries won't be a big deal? i do think PIT is the better team right now, and obviously playing better football, but experienced NFL gamblers know the better team doesn't always win, and that "2 teams heading in different directions" crap can be thrown out the window in the NFL, because no one always covers, and no one always chokes

good points, but i can also say TEN has the better corners....if PIT's pass rush wasn't so amazing, their corners would be exposed more

some thoughts:

i hate that haynesworth and vandenbosch are out but...i dont think this is a must game for pitt, not nearly as much as it is for tennessee. many of the current steelers were on the SB team from a few years ago. i dont think they feel that home field is a must to ensure playoff success whereas tennessee does. take a look at the pitt schedule as well...the last 6 weeks have been as hard as ive seen in a long time and at some point it catches up to you. next week is cleveland which is a gimme so they have the 2 locked up at worst

PIT has the best fans in the nfl? is that why many PIT fans were calling for leftwich when ben was struggling? is that why they boo sometimes when the offense looks anemic, even when they're winning the game? cmon bro, PIT is awesome, and their fans for the most part are loyal, the terrible towel thing, selling out games, etc....but not close to the best fans in the nfl....there were PIT fans in this forum calling for ben's head earlier this year....they're just like most fans, wishy-washy and think too much about "what have you done for me lately?"

i think you have to give this honor to GB and BUF...no matter how bad their teams are, they sell-out and pack the stadium every game...they are also the 2 smallest market teams and still do this, which is amazing

i remember the PIT fans when they had that losing season a few yrs ago, and all of the booing i heard, and all of the cowher hating i saw...cmon, hating on cowher? PIT fans look good now cuz things are going well, but a true test of fans comes when things are horrible, and i've seen how PIT fans react in that situation

Being a skins fan I know all to well about opposing fan support. I swear when Dallas Scores in Washington the crowd noise is substantial. Makes me Sick when I see it

you are right they have some better position players esp @ QB - Ward is better than the titans crew and the TE well, he is so good he reminds me of Jay Novachek from teh Cowboys.

And Ben loves throwing to him, I meant only by record. The TItans are the better team, that could change on Sunday, If by some miracle they win, they clearly would be the Better Team as nothing beats h2h and there will be no doubt on the question, right now I agree pitt is better but we can not confirm that untill Sunday night..
