Are teasers still a sucker bet?

I think it&#39;s time the impression some &quot;sharper&quot; players have on teasers change their view.  Yesterday and 4 combination of teasers would of paid out.   The books most certainly took a bath yesterday.  I for one made them pay. Hope everyone else was in on the blood bath.

I never played a teaser until this years playoffs. Hit two teasers the last two weeks. If you teased the pats yesterday with 6.5 points either way you won that game. I think teasers in the regular season are more difficult to win. I will tease the super bowl with the total. Beat the book big time....

Many NFL playoff games are played so tight, and the lines are spot on.  Teasers are a great way to move the line around.   Wasn&#x27;t comfortable with -2 SF, or &#x2B;2 NYG.  So you tease it... and Bang.  There&#x27;s your winner.   Seeing both games ending with a margin of 3 points, teasers prove to be very lucrative.

The only teaser play that didnt hit yesterday was Baltimore Over. The missed field goal wouldve made it happen. As mentioned before the previous 2 years went 8 for 8, this year 7 for 8 on this weekend.

I think its safe to say, teasing on championship weekend is the way to go and will continue to do so. But Fuck! That fucking kick wouldve made me some loot yesterday!

I was reading earlier in the week, that Vegas is looking at NFL Championship week teasers carrying much more juice.   They are more at a -160, then the normal -120.     I saw that, and the  went off, and i pounded the teaser.  Max play.   Now on to capping the Super Bowl........

I make the bulk of my $$$ the past 6 years betting using Teasers. Like I mentioned many times on here, teasers saved me many times over the year even during regular seasons. I normally play 3 or 4 teams single bets. Then parlay my best 3. And add a teasers to that. YESTERDAY I KILLED THE BOOK. I TURNED $1800 account I have into a whopping $8700. HELL YEAH! I am ready for the SB.

teasers can be profitable if used intelligently. Getting over "magic" numbers (3 and 7) tends to be profitable when betting sides. For instance I had the pats teased to -2 with the giants +7.5 yesterday because it crossed both magic numbers and when that is possible I believe a "sharp" would encourage it

They do well some weeks, but in the long run the reduced odds make them shitty. I know this week was good, and there was a crazy week this season where like 9-10 games were within 1 pt of the spread.  But I believe over the history of lined NFL games, the AVG. deviation from the spread is more than 10 pts.

If teasers weren&#x27;t good bets the books wouldn&#x27;t be shifting and inflating the lines to protect themselves from teasers. Particularly the 6-7 pt type on the spread.

Teasers in general are sucker bets, but there are times when the extra 6 points will give you enough statistical advantage to make it a long term EV bet.

Veronica basically proved out in one post that the 7 point teaser is a sucker bet, thanks for the information Veronica. Obviously if that extra 7 points is only getting you to a 66% win rate, you are going to get slaughtered over time.

Very intelligent observation from the posters here who commented that playoffs, and especially conference championships, are the best time to tease. The lines are very sharp this time of year, as proven by the fact that teasing sides went 4-4 this week.

For the poor bastard who is excited about teasing the total this coming weekend in the Super Bowl.......there is no faster way to lose your money than to include totals in a teaser. Someone would have to be completely incompetent to make that bet.
