gfinger, extra points are always kicked in regulation, even if there is no time left on the clock.
Yeah, thnx, had that wrong. Thought it was like a walk off TD, sort of like in OT, where they don't kick extra points. What's the point of kicking the extra point in regulation but not in OT. In both, the game is over.

"REFS make 42,295 - 120,998 for four months of work one day a week, thats damn good if you ask me."
So you're saying if you make a certain amount, then you don't need anymore money??
"And about it being about the ref, so what."
Are you agreeing that the ref cheated???
"Palamalou had no business trying to run it back anyway"
Why wouldn't he? Thats the basic instinct as a player. You always try to score.
"Had he dove on the ball like he was supposed to, GAME OVER, no fix talk."
Exactly! The ref will be happy because thats what he wanted. But the fact is Polamalu didn't just fall on the ball, so the ref had to go out of his way trying to make a bad call for his own interest.
You are an idiot to think nothing went wrong at the end of that game.
I never said nothing went wrong. It was a bad call, I never said it was not. Obviously you guys are just running away with this. How many bad calls happen in ANY given football game. How many? I think we can all agree on at least one bad call. So then, why is every game not a fix? Also, can somebody please tell me how you FIX an NFL games. How can one ref keep thescore 10-11. How could it be done (ie resorces, players, refs). I dont want no silly "it happened Sunday" answer either. I want to know HOW CAN YOU FIX AN NFL GAME.

2 or 3-1 money came in on the Steelers and yet the line did not move up to -6 to attract more money on the Chargers. In fact, the line went down, attracting even MORE money on the Steelers.
I never believed in fixes and I don't think the NFL was involved, but something seems fishy here.
And how would you know what the census was? What source did you get that info from.

It's very easy for a head ref to fix a football game, or any ref for that matter. Example, team scores on a huge say 80 yard play, ref throws a holding flag even if he didn't see any holding, thereby nullifying the huge play. Another example, team laterals the ball backwards twice, other team picks it up and scores, head refs reviews the play, sees nothing wrong with it, but waives off the TD. Simple enough.

did you watch that whole game??? If you did and you didn't see anything then it's pointless to even discuss. It was not just a bad call. Everything in that game were favored SD. And the final scores dont have to be exactly 10-11 for SD to cover...so one ref doesn't have to keep the score 10-11...do u understand that? The final score could be anything as long as SD covers.

Something seems fishy in this game. 115 yards penalties for Steelers, only 5 yards for Chargers. Game was clearly directed by refs. But, who cares. Life is not perfect.

Well than something seems fishy in every game were one team has more penalties than the other. As far as the 80 yard TD example, holding occurs on just about every play in the NFL, its up to the refs to call it, or let it go. If you watched football enough you would know this. That example of game fixing is terrible. How could one ref keep the score the same, its impossible. I dont care how many bad calls are thrown, one ref cannot fix an entire game, especially without other refs being involved. You guys sound like JACKASSes with this fix shit. LET IT GO, you fuckin lost your money over a bullshit call, Im sorry it happened. Bottom line is that Palamalou should have fallen on the ball anyway, and if any of you have played football at a high level, you would know that scoop and score is good during the game, but fall on the ball at the end. Why do you think CBs bat the ball down instead of intercepting at the end of a game on forth down. Most of you guys are just talking out the ass.

Don't be so angry cuz your a Tampa Bay Bucs fan. Refs fix games all the time. It will be ok. Palo needed to cover the spread, that is why he didn't just fall on the ball. How many times do you need to bring that up? For the record, Pitt ML bettor here, so crying fix doesn't matter to me. I'm just stating the facts that one single ref can fix a game. A ref can call a holding call on every pass pay if he'd like and if he did, that would in his own measure, fix the game.

With the NFL admitting they blew the call and the points should have stayed on the board, Vegas and sports books should consider the game a push no action, why not throw your customers a bone once in a while!!!!!

Please stop saying what the public bet is on this game and use this as reason for game is fixed. Saying ref fixed game is one thing but to say bookies are in on it is beyond comprehension and just make your case of fixing that much weaker!!!

No ref in his right mind would fix an NFL game, look at that ref from the NBA. Game fixin is hot right now, and can land you in prison. You think these guys are going to jepordize that. These guys make too good of money, the honest way to cheat. You guys are just hollerin fix because it seems that way. THERE ARE NO FIXES IN NFL. maybe NBA, NCAA, MLB, but not NFL. And for the record, the BUCS are good this year, and have been good since they won the Super Bowl, with the exception of two losing seasons. I have no reason to be mad b/c I am a BUCS fans, that sounds stupid. The BUCS are conisitantly good. Who is your team gfinger?

Above everythingelse, PITT won the game, and was going to win the game either way. What difference does it make to the ref on if it is a good or bad call anyway. PITT was going to win either way. Wins are wins in the NFL, just because PITT did not cover, it does not mean the game was fixed.

That's not true. Plenty of pro and ex pro athletes bet on sports. No matter how much money someone makes, they will still gamble, sell drugs, get arrested, etc. You give these people too much credit. BTW, an NFL ref only makes between $42,295 and $120,998 per season, that is isn't much at all. Give a guy like Scott Green, say $1 - $5 million on that Pitt game, end of story.
A former 49ers player from the dynasty days has commented that the players know all about the game point spreads and it was a team mission to beat the point spread to reward their fans and betting public.
Palamalou did his job and tried to score, even if it was not trying to beat the point spread, its all about STATS, he would get credit for a TD! Looks a lot better when negotiating a new contract.
Greed is greed, you never know who is on the darkside.

"I may be a nutjob, but not as nuts as you if you bet on a fixedgame, Thank you for your time and good luck you will need it."
Hey Jeff, do you really think people would intentionally bet on a game that is fixed and I am sorry but there is no way in hell you can tell a game will be fixed before you place your bet. Interesting topic for a report but alot of verbal diahrrea

I thought that everytime Pitt crossed the 50 the penalties would start accumulating. One of the worst and blatant SD favorable penalties was the illegal block in the back called on Hines Ward on an offensive play. He hit the guy from the side.

Do a right up on how vegas is fixed? WHO SHUFFLES? WHO SITS AT THE TABLE? Please! Interesting right up. Sounds to me like someone who's been losing shitty bets for years. The game of the week on FOX. Most bet game in vegas. Obviosly! Why bet it at all.Tell me why you're not bragging because of the brilliant bet you put down on Arizona. Will Vegas please release the numbers on that? Cause I can't find a soul who took Seattle. And that "may" prove your theory, but to me, it didn't happen in the most obvious 4'oclock game. Really? San Diego is still questionable as team. Why would the league fix that game? There is still ML, which the world should've took Pitt. Really Guy. I respect your opinion, I just think you lost a ton on Pitt. And no ref would do any of that in this day. It is what it is. And it sucks. But as a gambler, you move on.

I didnt see the end live,so can someone clear this up for me please??? There was no flag or whistle on the play, correct?? I thought I read the ref at one point before the booth review was ordered said that Pitt declined the penalty, and the TD stands. If there was no flag on the play, how could Pitt decline the penalty??

Lol, guess I started a war on this topic. I am seeing some posts and realizing there are some people here that really do have some brains and others are just braindead. After 9 years and counting of research I am at the conclusion that the fix is in, I can site many cases to support my conclusion that the refs are fixing point spreads but of the 9 years I have not one instance I can site a PRO player being involved. Remember I said PRO player. I saw several posts that say in order for the game to be fixed players must be involved, wrong my friend!!! Just at least here me out as I study tapes 10 to 30 hours a week. Needless to say I am interested in my work. Let me give an example: I will use the pitt SD game just because it is fresh in everyones mind. First let me say in the 90's the refs did a better job covering the fix. The pitt SD game had cold weather and some snow. Pitt was penalized 115 yards to SD 5 yards in the game. This alone can keep SD in the game to cover the spread, and usually does but this paticular game the unexpected happened, a last second score to cover the spread. I have replayed the footage over 100 times already am compaired it to the refs excuses. Something smells really bad here, both latterals were completely legal without question and the second latteral hit the ground which does not stop play, it is called a fumble and can be advanced, which Polomalu did and scored. The refs are using the excuse of confusion? A three year old would not be confused making this call.

One last thing, I am hearing people say you can't bring down this multibillion dollar business. Well that is not my goal, however some people think pro wrestling is real...I dare to say if you know wrestling is fake and still watch it you don't see it as a sport as much as just entertainment. If the NFL was exposed as being fixed the popularity would be right there with wrestling!!! Not that popular, And lets use boxing, I think most people are suspicious about boxing being fixed so they can get paid for multiple fights, boxing popularity fell to an all-time low and still is at an all-time low for several reasons. Don King is shady for lack of a better word and the emerge of the UFC fighting which appears to be less likely fixed. One guy posted that it would be hard to fix a game, fixing every game is easy if you are in the right place...You can't be a ref at that level and be a dummy, remember that.. As for the number of people involved other than refs? I have no idea because there is absolutely no way to prove anything from game footage and I am sure nobody making money off bettors is talking. Why would they?

Next year I am writing a book about sports betting and the FIX, with 10 years of footage with the point spread exposed to site all the referee blunders that have changed the outcome for bettors. I will site one other obvious game since it was my favorite before this past Sundays pitt Sd game. 1997 Iowa vs Iowa St.-- Iowa was a 32 point favorite. 1:04 seconds left in the game Iowa leads by 29 points, Iowa St has no timeouts remaining and is punting from their 4 yard line. Senior Tim Dwight is standing at the 50 yard line to receive the punt. If Dwight signals faircatch and catches the ball Iowa can take a knee twice and run out the clock, the unforseen happens on this day, The Iowa st punter shanks the punt and Dwight catches the ball running full steam at the 38, both Iowa and IowaSt players are basically standing in amazement that Dwight caught the ball and watch him run it back for a TD!!! there was not one player blocking or trying to tackle Dwight, just a weird play. This TD would have put Iowa up by36 points after the extrapoint. The refs call a block in the back on a player that was not even on the field, and for that matter the players that were on the field were not blocking at all. One of the announcers calling the game just went nuts, calling it a phantom call and saying how can the ref make that call? He even said that was insane and noted that the pointspread was a factor in that call, meaning that by the ref making that call determined wheather Iowa covered or didn't cover. After the penalty Iowa to a knee and the game was over not covering the spread. I have plenty more, this was the game that got me doing my research. This game took place 11 years ago I recorded the game to watch at a later time because I couldn't see it live, Also I forgot to mention Iowa was penalized heavily that game, mostly holding calls which took 14 points off the board for them.
