So happy the NFL is back. Ready to have another very
profitable NFL season. Best of luck to everyone.
Atlanta
Falcons @ Philadelphia Eagles
Overrrrated. Most people still see Atlanta as the team
that went to the Superbowl 2 seasons ago, as opposed to the team we saw last
season. I said it many times last year but Atlanta losing Kyle Shanahan after
the Superbowl run was huge. And because of it, the team went from scoring 33
points per game, to just 21.6 last season. Atlanta didn’t do anything that
great in the offseason to improve their team, while losing a few key pieces to
their defense. This team is getting older, not younger – and I expect them to
have a losing record this season.
Philadelphia on the other hand, still has the
best offensive line in the league, as we saw in the Superbowl 7 months ago when
Nick Foles had all day to throw against New England. Last season against the
Falcons in the playoffs, Foles went 23/30 completing 76% of his throws. But
what’s worrisome for Atlanta is that in this game – they will be without two
key defensive lineman (that played in the playoff game), while the Eagles will
be adding Jason Peters back from injury (to their already #1 ranked offensive
line). I expect Philly to win this game rather easily with Foles moving the
ball up and down the field with ease. Great offensive lines make pedestrian QBs
look like pro-bowl talent every time. Such is the case with Nicholas.

Hmm idk if I agree with this I think adding Calvin Ridley is huge on offense. Getting older? Pretty sure Julio Sanu Freeman and Ryan will not be feeling any age effects yet. Ppl forget they actually gave Philly there best game in Phillys house and shouldve won (yes i know doesnt mean anything they lost) As a Vikings fan I think they will be tough contenders in the NFC this year as well

Im not saying Philly cant win this game I just dont agree with the Falcons overrated narrative, also I expect Foles to come back to reality now, Pederson called a hell of a few games on that run I think that attributed more to success of Foles. If Wentz isnt back this team will do exactly what they did the last few games of the reg. season

True in 2017 the falcon's took a pretty big step back on offence but made a very nice improvement on Defence and figure to be even better this year being a young D. getting more ex. and keeping pretty much everyone together with their D. minded head coach.

The line is dropping by the minute it seems down to -2 and money line is at -125 at my book. I can't pick a winner to save my life recently I am going to tail more than likely but I am going to wait another day to see if I can get even better odds.

Hey, LC. I read somewhere that Ryan always struggles with first year coordinator, including Shanahan, whom you are fond of, but does great the following yeard. This will be his second year under the new OC.

seems like a still-bitter Vikings fan. Man, softest people on the planet. Foles, Foles, Foles, Foles (chanted)

Shanahan is a genius who's been in the NFL for 10+ years. I'll be on the 49ers frequently this year. This is Sarkisian's 2nd year in the NFL, prior to that his whole career was in college, completely different. He rated as worst OC in the league last season compared to previous season offensive #s. It was a bad hire, and a bad decision to keep him this season.
People don't cap OC/DC enough, but I take a huge account into them.

Not bitter at all lol you guys beat us that day and deserved to be SB champs. Im a vikings fan that was actually a great way to lose rather than the normal heartbreak. I just dont agree that the Falcons are overrated. Your coaches play calling is the key not Foles. If you had to go a full year with Foles you would not be a contender this year.

It's a combo of maximizing Foles' strengths (RPO), run game, stone wall offensive line, and the most underrated part of Foles' success was the work Wentz put in to make sure Foles succeeded. Wentz is constantly watching tape with him, gameplanning, and coaching him. Foles does not win those playoff games without Wentz' help.

I agree, just saying at the end of the day it was 2 games (Vikings, Patriots) and maybe ill give the second half vs Atlanta that Foles really lit it up. Eagles are a very talented team but in no way do I agree Foles can do that over a whole season, not that he will have to but just saying

Nick Foles is thriving because of the offensive line. Eagles OL is ranked one of the best this decade. They have 4 players of the starting 5 ranked above an 85 on PFF. It'll be even better than last year's with Peters back in the lineup.
To put that into perspective, the Titans are ranked #5 this year and they don't even have 1 player above 85.
Do you not remember the Superbowl where the Pats couldn't even get close to him? People think Wentz was a stud, he wasn't even that good - it's the line.
