Was wondering about the playoff angle myself but this is first time I've seen the "non-div games" qualifier for the rule.  Makes sense, just don't ever remember seeing this outlined previously on discussions of Bator rule.  

It's also hard to see this rule applying to the first rd of the playoffs. Both teams will be motivated and prepared for the game.

Can we get a run on the numbers for the difference between non-division and division for past 10-20 years? How big of a difference is there? And what about record as iapplies to 1st WC came only off last 2 regular season games? I would think there is still likely value here at 10 or so oints Steelers are getting, no?

division = o:division
11-13 ATS

division != o:division
3-28 ATS 

it makes a big difference and why the Taxi (which was around back in the late 90s and maybe even earlier than that) system doesnt apply here
