Prime - I dont see why you would bet Atlanta so early in the week when playoff implicatons could be (and have been) decided before they actually step on the field...
Now - it appears as though Atlanta does have something to play for, because if they don't win out odds (and get help) are they have New Orleans opening week of the playoffs. But, considering Michael Turner is nursing a bad groin, I don't see them pushing him at all...
My guess is Detroit goes to GB and beats them next week, considering Rodgers will play no more than a half (if that). I would assume Mike Smith is probably realizing the same thing.
So, a gimpy Turner, and an oft injured Julio Jones wont be pushed, in my opinion.
New Orleans, on the other hand, will bring it all in hopes of a bye. Now, to get it they have to win out and hope St Louis @ home can upset SF. SF doesnt really destroy anyone, and New Orleans knows what is possble if you underestimate a lowly St Louis team @ home. Brees is going for the single season passing record, New Orleans is a completely different team at home....
New Orleans 31 Atlanta 20

@muchomojo
You probably read my post above, but it seems you agree with me that it seems less important to Atlanta than it is to New Orleans...
New Orleans has EVERYTHING (or at least enough) to play for.
1. #2 seed, with bye, still possible
2. Clinch Division Title
3. Brees single season passing record
Home field advantage is arguably more important to the Saints than any other team in the league.
The Falcons, on the other hand, could win the division title, but they have to win out and the Saints have to drop both games, Green Bay (with absolutely nothing to play for) has to beat Detroit, who has something to play for (protecting its current seeding).
The Saints are much healthier than the Falcons. Yes, the Falcons have had 10 days rest, but groin strains don't heal in 10 days, and I would think the Falcons want Turner as close to 100% as possible for the playoffs. Julio Jones has been banged up as well. Tony Gonzalez has battled back issues.... their stars are hurting...
I only bring all this up cause Prime posts contantly about wagering high stakes and truth be told I usually read his posts. Not that I follow him often, but I do read his writeups. I make my own decisions, but if I am feeling indecisive about a game I often look at other opinions on here. I can't, for the life of me, imagine wagering one dime, especially in Week 16 and 17 of the NFL season, a week in advance. To me it is an cardinal rule to know and consider what each team has riding on the game , and the only way I am wagering on it is if I know the answers and that they can't be changed prior to kickoff.
That said, I have placed my wager on the Saints -6.5.
I think both teams are talented and matchup well with each other, but the Saints have more to play for (worth 3 points) and are at home (worth 3.5 points).

I'm up way past my bed time but it's okay b/c I really need to get a good handle on this MNF game. Without slowing down the pace of this wonderful thread too much a quick down and dirty on me is I initially won a little $$ and it was good (of course) but now I'm behind (not really a little but I'm not gonna loose the farm) so initially everything I've looked at is telling me ATL, I even went as far as “purchasing” some advice and that also is telling me ATL (and the under too by the way) but reading some of these post in this thread and on the forum board tonight, especially the one that made reference to Brady, Brees, and Rodgers in SNF and MNF matchups (can lose!) and last couple of post by fitchj21 it just doesn’t make sense to bet against (fade?) Brees, at home, on a Monday night.
Is there any additional angles I should be looking at?
One caveat… that same “purchased advice” made me change my mind about taking GB ATS and I took CHI instead.
Appreciate your time!
