I'm on SF for two reasons......The Falcons defense is horrible and I have no faith in Mike Smith as a head coach. He constantly looks lost on the sidelines when the game is on the line.

I agree about Smith, but the Falcons defense is steady. No big stars and not the best numbers, but they just win.

We are in agreement on all 4 picks.  This is the worst news you have heard in many football seasons.  I am currently 2-10 this postseason.

Yes, Flacco has more weapons around him, but they are on the other side of the ball. Do you remember who New England played in their secondary last year in the AFC game?

-Sterling More: was cut and barley played for Dallas this year, bum.

-Mathew Slater: a career WR

-Julian Edelman: another WR

-Nate Jones: Who?

-Devin McCourtey: Played CB, now playing Safety

Antwaun Molden: Made 1 tackle for Jacksonville in 2012



Point being, Flacco played very well in that game in NE, but this time around he is facing a much more defined secondary. I won't count on Flacco moving the ball like he did last year, not even close.

All season long I have seen LB try to cover backs coming out of the backfield on the line of scrimmage and get burnt almost all the time. Texans got burnt a couple of times last week including one for a stop and go TD. I don't think Ray Lewis or any other linebacker can cover that matchup. Brady picks the right mismatch and succeeds most of the time.

Wouldn't San Fran want to atone for their loss in the NFC championships last year?  Wouldn't the Patriots want to get to the Super Bowl again and atone for their loss there as well.  I have read your case and I can agree in some ways.  Two sides to every story.

your NE/Balt writeup is pretty ghey at best. Edepman has been on IR for 6 weeks now.. you also forgot to mention  Aaron hernandez who is a major offensive threat.
NE also has a 1000 yd back in Ridley. as far as Lloyd goes,go check out his stats week 3 at BAlt.

I agree. I was half asleep when I did it (lots of mistakes). Writeups are over rated anyway.

Don't you think ATL is the most likely not to win.

All the other teams are in the same spot last year and didnt win the superbowl.
Not saying Atl is not hungrier than the 3 but mindset is a bit different

Being a saints fan I know these birds. They are not physical enough to hang with these 49ers. You think Georgia Dome is louder than a Saints home game. Nope. The rookie will make the birds D slow and the 49ers D will beat up on a suspect o line for the falcons. This is over in the 3rd qt

Train go check out my game thread. The numbers in the model don't seem to make sense to some , However, It may make sense to you. Your write up coincides with my Math model. Its a mathmatical starting point to see how both teams fare vs their caliber of competition/opponent power rating in a 4 game series: road/home dichtonomy

Falcons defense terrible? 17 pppg  home.  A terrible defense would be 27-30. Guess who carries that tag in their last 4 rd gms last 5 overall
