I for one am a fan of never giving the ball to an opponent unless I absolutely have to. I can see everyday. These coaches have went through every scenario imaginable in their heads and have decided what they would do in that instance. Just a tough way to end the game from a betting standpoint.

A kickoff is illegal unless it travels 10 yards OR is touched by the receiving team. Once the ball is touched by the receiving team or has gone 10 yards, it is a free ball. Receivers may recover and advance. Kicking team may recover but NOT advance UNLESS receiver had possession and lost the ball.

Wow the level of paranoia in this thread is unreal, I can't believe this many people think that sports are rigged to get a spread to cover or not. Yeah all these people on the inside are in on it, including the refs just to make a line cover, actually sit there and think about how many people would need to be in on it, and who is the one controlling it at the top who's making the money. Maybe put your tinfoil hat on next time before you bet so they wont know what your doing.

I really think you need to look at the rule book before you start calling people names, you can indeed onside kick after a safety, go back a few pages and you'll see someone posted the actual rules about it on here, after 10 yards it's a free ball, you just can't advance it unless it was touched by the other team first, so I guess that makes you the "brilliant" one.

Two words! Eric LeGrand!!! Why risk any injury on a kickoff that won't reach the end zone ensuring a return (and the contact of blocking while in the air even during a fair caught return)? When you can simply take a victory position win, seems like the right choice to me.

You guys don't understand. I am a 49ers Fan. The reason why Harbaugh took the points off is because he learned from his mistakes last season. Last season, Harbaugh challenged a call in a game that was already over and on that final play, Joshua Morgan got into a season ending injury. As a result, the Niners suited only 1 starting WR (Crabtree) of that year in the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP game against the NY Giants, which resulted in only 1 catch for 3 yards for the niners in that game. Harbaugh did not want to take a chance and lose one of his player in a "final play." It was the correct decision by Harbaugh, if you like it or not.

Exactly. The NFL is fixed period. Accept it and just wager accordingly. Thursday night in NBA is routinely where "amazing" happens. Thursday night in NFL is no different.
