if you think 18-1 is good value on a 5 team parlay when they wont be huge favorites is not very good logic.

Here is a mock 5 team parlay including the boys with projected money-lines and opponenets:

LOL, actually not cuz theres about a 100 to 1 shot of thisdisfuctional team keeping it together for 2 games, let alone 5

 

Just some math for you though. f you wanna bet the Cowboys, do it this way. Bet each game seperately on the ML and roll it over each week till the bowl, GL

I agree mate i will be backing the Cowboys aswell for these simple facts
 
- On there day they can beat ANYONE
- If they win there next game there odds will drop to $11.00
- If they win there first play off game there odds will drop again
- Im getting $21.00 at my bookie and i refuse to believe the cowboys are $21.00 team!!!!

18-1 is NOT a good bet.  If you think it is then I think that you need to recalculate the odds.  Let's just say for the sake of arguement that Dallas will be a pickem on the road and in the SB from here on out. There are 5 games left so we have 1.9x1.9x1.9x1.9x1.9 =25-1.  Do you see?  18-1 is NOT a good bet!
I do think that the odds that ChanceP posted are pretty damn accurate...

Sorry guys, but chance and the others who agree with him are correct.  18-1 might be good, and may even have value, but if you can get BETTER odds making the SAME exact bet but by betting in a different manner, then it make NO SENSE to settle for just 18-1.

18-1 odds might be a 'good' bet to make if you're (not your) a gamber... but 25-1 or 30-1 odds for same event is a GREAT bet if you're a gambler!

Let me guess... those of you who are happy with 18-1 also insure your blackjacks against a dealer ace, correct?

+200 ml Dallas?  That wont happen.  Even if Dallas is playing away in the playoffs, its not guarantee they will be the underdog, so 18-1 might be good value.  Dallas is like USC, Vegas thinks highly of the players on their roster.

Scenario #1)betting 100 to win 1800 .....easy enough
 
Scenario #2) Lets just say Dallas was +100(even money) every game to make this easy....If they win vs Philly, you win 200(win 100 plus original 100) .....roll it over....wildcard game win 400......NFC semifinal 800......NFC Division Championship win 1600......SuperBowl =3200.......
 
It would be smarter to take Dallas on the moneyline for 5 straight games, rolling the original $100 it the next game each time. Now obviously they will probably be underdogs in almost every game, maybe up to +220, depending on circumstances of course....that original 100 would turn into a minimum of 3200 if they win 5 straight, with a max probably around 10,000/12,000.....very possibly greater than 66-1, but DEFINATELY great than 18-1, probably 32-1 MINIMUM....

Losing bets often have great value... since 'value' has nothing at all to do with winning or losing.

I'll play a game with you.  Let's roll a single die.  Each time a 1-5 comes up, you win, and I must pay you $1.00. 

But each time a 6 comes up I win, and you must pay me $7.00.  (A proper payoff would be $5.00)

I'll play that game with you all day long, and lose most of the rolls while we're playing.  Why will I do it?  Because the game (bet) has value.

First of all your betting the cowboys. heavily public inlfated team. obviously taken into account from by the oddsmakers. Then your betting a future and more than likly already paying a premium. 
 
Ya your right this might hit at $18.00. but this is not a smart play, if you base your plays on value, witch is the intellegent way to wager. 
 
My guess is the cowboys should be somewhere around 25 to 1 at least but dont you think the oddsmakers thought they could get just as many people to toss their money away at 18 to 1 as 25 to 1...........
