Dallas is trapped @ #3. Let the hating begin...

Question

Was really hoping that Dallas would have something to play for next week but it doesn't matter who wins between Green Bay and Detroit if Dallas also wins. Either way they will be #3 due to both team's conference record.

I am a long time Cowboys fan. I will admit they have continually punched through the ceiling of my expectations for them this year. But I don't think I like the prospects of them basically throwing the game next week by starting back up talent. Everyone has stayed incredibly healthy for the most part this season. Really sucks that it turns out that Romo sabotaged their chances when he demanded to get back in the game vs Washington. I felt Wheden was getting it done in that game.

But alas, here we are. In the playoffs. What noone including myself thought possible this year. They have finished games and beat the tough teams. I have confidence that they could probably go into Seattle and be competitive again. But will Tony choke again? It's anyones guess. But there is no denying he is playing his best football this year with only 8 interceptions in 15 games.

You know what? It didn&#x27;t even occur to me that Seattle would lose to STL. So perhaps Dallas does have something to play for. But it&#x27;s true that both of them would have to lose. All three teams will be playing their hardest though. I doubt that Seattle will let STL beat them.

Green Bay is the team that scares me for sure. So I will be rooting for the Lions. They might have a good D but their offense is weak IMO. I think Dallas has too many weapons for them and they&#x27;ll want to avenge that terrible loss they had to them last season.

Hopefully Garrett will go against the possibility of STL not losing and play. I think Dallas needs to carry momentum into the playoffs. No half measures and no losing the last game. Complaceny is what has killed this team in the past.

Only way the Cowboys get a bye is if:

Seattle & AZ BOTH lose; Cowboys can lose as well here.

OR

Detroit/GB tie

Both scenarios are unlikely. I blame this on a combo of losing to the lowly Redskins at home and the Dolphins collapse to the Packers. If the Cowboys had a one-on-one tie with Seattle they would prevail.

Road for the Cowboys probably begins with the Lions. Tough matchup as I'd much rather play AZ but last year it took an 80 yard drive in a minute with no timeouts for the Lions to win. Hopefully this year would be different.

if arizona and detroit are tied , arizona wins tie break and gets 5 seed.regardless, dallas still has other motivations such as completing a perfect 8-0 road record which is extremely rare, finishing the regular season with a win since theyve been knocked out of the division title on the last day 3 consecutive years, one of those being to washington.  plus revenge game , and washington is not nearly as good as that rigged game against philly would indicate.  thats a lot of side motivations, in addition to the outside shot at a first round bye.

Atl #4 vs Ariz #5

I like our chances against Det. And if we somehow advance.. looks like a matchup against GB in divisional round.

Really wish Seattle & Ariz both lose so the Boys get a bye. Seattle losing is not likely tho.

If Dallas wins the Superbowl this year they will surely have deserved it.  I hate to even think it because I can&#x27;t stand them but their road to the Superbowl looks anything but easy, especially, if they are the number three seed.

Another good scenario would be the Seahawks losing and the cards winning(GB wins also). Cowboys play the lions at home then play zona then to Seattle to the SB!! :)

The cowboys are peeking at the right time In the NFC they are neck in neck with Seattle .Green bay was the fav ,but showed some major flaws ,where the usual December collapse didn't happen in Dallas .They even started winning at home . . You can argue in the NFC the 2 hottest QB 2 hottest runners are Sea and Dallas . They might surprise some people winning there first matchup at #3 .

On another note Would be nice Detroit pulling the upset and shake things up
