put this bet in a week ago. i had been leaning Falcons since the lines came out in April but my lean wasnt strong enough until recently. not gonna lie but the Eagles preseason performances influenced me to make a play now which could be a mistake. to be fair, the Falcons havent look that much better either but the eye test says Matt Ryan and his 1st team offense looked more in sync in limited action than Nick Foles who struggled with his 1st team offense. Also Fole's throwing shoulder got banged up a few weeks ago. Turned out to be nothing too serious but in the back of my mind is he still going to be fully healthy by the opener? he didnt look right before he got injured or after...

Yes of course but Peters needs to get back in game shape. might be a little tough to do in week 1. The Eagles O-line is still one of if not the best O-lines in the league and when they are at the top of their game, the Eagles offense will fly. they just need Carson Wentz back asap, because the element of surprise with Nick Foles is gone and he simply is what he was supposed to be.., a backup.

kind of wished i got it at +4.5 and ML +185(that was the highest i saw it) but at that time the Eagles looked like they were killing free agency with some good replacement signings and also the Julio Jones contract holdout concerned me a little bit.

This may be my favorite bet of the week but I cant bet against my Eagles. Ill be at the game as well, no way I can be there rooting against my team. Teasing them is a very viable option for me.

agreed that its a revenge game for the Falcons and they have the motivational edge but not putting as much stock into that as i am with a banged up Eagles offense. like i mentioned earlier this game has an eerily similar setup as that Chiefs/Patriots game last year: playoff revenge for visiting team with new rookie who could make an immediate impact and be in the discussion for ROTY honors versus defending champs with star wide reciever hurt and some new pieces on the roster. the interesting new twist is the QB mystery. i actually thought Nate Sudfeld might be the day 1 starter when Foles got hurt. Sudfeld has played better in preseason so who knows. i wouldn't be shocked if Wentz starts but in my opinion there is no need to rush him back so soon. maybe week 3 at home vs Colts would be the right time
defensively Eagles should still be solid. that D-line is going to be what keeps Eagles in games. that's the only difference between this team and the Patriots of last year.. Eagles defense is still mostly intact while Pats defense had to adjust with some personnel changes. Patriots defense last year was awful beginning of season, masked their weaknesses midway through and showed their true colors in the Super Bowl.
