some additional thoughts on tonight's game
now i can see this game play out in two ways..
1.) Chiefs vs Patriots week 1, 2017
or
2.) Panthers vs Broncos week 1, 2016
lets explain scenario 1
1.) Chiefs wanting revenge from divisional playoff round loss to Patriots previous year(2 years in Chiefs case to get another shot) and they got their revenge Falcons get their revenge against Eagles?
2.) Brady missing his best reciever Julian Edelman to torn ACL beginning of season and didnt have him to throw to in week 1. Nick Foles missing his best reciever Alshon Jeffery due to him repairing a torn rotator cuff that he played hurt with through most of last season. Also, Amendola got knocked out in the middle of the game. Does Mike Wallace get knocked out too?
3.) Brandin Cooks werent on the same page with Brady in week 1. an impact player such as Cooks was trying to get used to the Patriot Way but took longer than expected. Foles and Mike Wallace wont be on the same page tonight?
4.) rookie Kareem Hunt was a huge factor in the Chiefs ailing running game and revived the injury plagued running unit, if he didnt play in that game Chiefs would have lost no questions asked. will rookie Calvin Ridley have the same impact that Hunt brought to the running game that Ridley can possibly bring to the Falcons passing game that was underwhelming last season? Patriots D-line got thin after losing some players and got exposed in the running game. Eagles made plays in the secondary but werent necessarily the best secondary unit in the league, points and yardage wise. will they get exposed by Ridley tonight?
5.) Chiefs were slight public dogs 60/40ish if i recall. the suppose "sharp" play was Patriots. the line dropped a little but picked back up close to kick off.
lets explain scenario 2
1.) Panthers looking for revenge for Super Bowl loss to Broncos but they never got it. Will history repeat?
2.) Trevor Siemian was the backup and didnt get the respect because he didnt win the Super Bowl and he wasnt Manning but the Broncos still won the rematch with their defense and some surprising good play from Siemian. Nick Foles is still considered the backup but he won the Super Bowl. still doesnt get the respect. it didnt help that he didnt play good in preseason and a bit surprisingly didnt get any offers from other teams in the offseason
3.) Broncos d-line lost a little bit of depth but was still good post Super Bowl when they lost players like Malik Jackson and Danny Trevethan. the Eagles still have a good D-line despite losing players like Vinny Curry and Timmy Jernigan.
4.)Panthers were a public road fave in that game almost 70/30 if i remembered right.Fsalcons currently weregetting over 65% if the linemovement continues this way the Eagles will soon behomedogs again, just like the playoffs last year. homedogs are dangerous in week 1..
will be interesting to see where the action goes in the next 7 hours. right now i am still feeling scenario #1.
