That was a symbolic super bowl sacrifice game. Shanahan' lost to the team he was on who lost to Pats in SB.

Green Bay should not have covered in their last game. They covered only because Seattle followed the script and went for 2 pts. after their last TD. Russell Wilson was intentionally not looking to his right in order to be sacked by a blitzing Green Bay defender. Similarly Seattle did not stop Green Bay in their last drive to run out the clock because that was the script. I am not too awed by Rodgers' last two third down conversions at the end of the game. Seattle players were gassed, and they knew they weren't supposed to win. Seattle also did something strange at the end of their game against SF in Week 17. They, for some reason, committed a false start or delay of game penalty when they had the ball at one-yard line of SF. It was 1st and goal at one. Whey didn't they spike the ball to buy time to draw up a good play? It looked to me as if they had to create a condition to make it realistic to fail to score at that point. So the League wanted Green Bay-SF NFC Championship game, which means they will have two teams that played each other only once during the regular season, not twice.
This year being the year of changing of the guard in QBs, I believe Rodgers will be bounced out this time. Unlike Seattle, SF doesn't play to lose at the end of the game or let Green Bay cover with a late backdoor score. Rodgers will not have a miracle finish that he had against Seattle to cover against SF this time.

Seattle is very good at finessing razor thin margin covers or non-covers. In their early season September game against the Rams in Seattle, they went for 2 points after a late TD and failed. That allowed the Rams to lose by only one or two points and cover when the line was one and a half or two and a half points in favor of Seattle.

AFN, I understand the detailed play calling by La Fleur as you explained was perfect. I appreciate your explaining the two plays very well. But I also believe Pete Carroll knew La Fleur would deploy his players as it turned out, but Carroll still let his own players to follow the play as designed to make Rodgers look awesome in the eyes of fans. Seattle players were very tired at that point of the game. Rodgers' pass to Jimmy Graham was very low, so Graham had to lunge to catch it. Graham almost fell after catching it. Only his still strong legs saved the play when he was able to take a couple of steps to get the first down. La Fleur's play calling worked only at the end of the game when Seattle defenders were too tired to compete. If La Fleur was such a genius, why did Green Bay not score more points earlier in the second half to whip Seattle? Why didn't Green Bay defenders keep Russell Wilson from scoring any points just as Tennessee and KC defense did to their opponents? Both of those games ended in blowouts, while Green Bay was given a gift of a cover by Pete Carroll. Rodgers sometimes looks like a great player but not consistently enough as he did when he was younger, and he had better players in key positions.

Any bettor who does this without context is a fool. Revenge is way overrated by most people. I place very little stock in it.

Green Bay is going to lose by double digits on Sunday. People are going to feel foolish after the game that they convinced themselves the Packers had a legitimate chance to win.
