I had KC's defense @ 17 pppg (pure points per game) during their  4 game road series..slightly skewed because of the offenses they played in that series but still fairly decent defense with Clark / Jones / Matthew. SFran's defensive #'s in their 4 game rd series vs seattle / saints / baltimore / arizona was  23 pppg and 30 pppg last 5 overall. Most of SF blowouts were at home vs bad offensive teams , and I incl Minn and GB ( 2 of the worst rd teams in the league). When SF took to the road they gave up big plays and points ie Saints, (but because the saints had no defense whatsoever..they couldn't stop JG) they were lucky to win that one..Sea was 1 yrd away from a win and a rookie murray who took advantage of that  SF defense also, played tough @ Balt but couldn't do it, and KC is better than Balt. Imo and what my " pure" #'s show. KC had the better rd defense and offense vs SF's rd off and def and it showed. They clamped down when they needed to and the Mahomes Magic Matriculated down the filed and JG showed why he isnt that good, The sports media was pump-n SF out to be this great team ( visions of SF in the 80's) #1 defense and this team of destiny... please, give me a break.. giving up 30 pppg overall during the last month of the season is not a #1 defense "pointwise" and thats what its all about points..the line , the scores PF PA etc..Their Def #'s were skewed bigtime because of those big blowouts @ home vs bad teams including the last 2 They weren't @ home this time and they weren't playing Arizona and those 2 other bad defensive teams seattle and saints.. they were playing the best team and QB in the NFL.
