Eagles vs Seahawks Week12

Thoughts on this game? Would you take the free points for Seattle? Does this appear to be a trap game?

Definitely seems like a trap game, but may just be perception that the Eagles are better than their record says.  I'm an Eagles fan and that just isn't the case right now...their roster is old and it has bitten them...earlier in the year they had a lot of injuries on defense, now the defense is getting healthy and playing much better but the offense is decimated.  Jeffrey may be back but likely no Howard, Lane Johnson and D Jax already out.  Seahawks or no play IMO.

Tough to go against Seattle off a bye against a decimated team...Eagles' season is on the line though...I lean the Wilsons...should be another entertaining hard fought game to watch. As always, tough to figure out which side the refs are on this week. 

Lancer makes a good point - Eagles season is on the line and they have typically played well in that situation the last few years...several times w/ Foles at the helm last year and even as early as week 4 this year going into Lambeau on a short week and winning on TNF w/ the defense not playing well.  

Going BIG on Seattle. 

Seattle is overrated...Look at their points differential....They have won pretty much all their close games...Cincy..Pitt...Rams...Cleveland..Tampa...In reality should have lost 3 of those games...and should be a .500 team....  7 of their 8 wins have been by less than a TD... Very fortunate/lucky team...

Vegas needs money from Philly betters. Staying away from this game, but if I had to choose Seattle for sure. Just no value in betting this game for me. 

Idiots. There are no traps. There is either value in one side, value in the other, or the line has been properly set and there is no value at all due to the juice. Trap games... idiots

I have a feeling Seattle will start strong, and Eagles will cut it close, however, Seattle will edge the Eagles. 

I concur with two of the previous posters: there are no trap games. It's a common expression, but trap games do not exist in terms of the pointspread, which is made using power ratings. No one is trying to trap you into taking a certain team. As for the game, I'm leaning strongly to Seattle. They're healthier, playing better, and they have the league's current MVP. And on top of all that, they're getting points.

If you think in your wildest drunken dreams that the Ravens -3 generates even action on both sides, then you must be smoking some good $hit. Bob Scucci who used to make the opening lines at the Stardust with Joe Lupo disagrees with you by the way and this power ratings nonsense...but God bless you. 

There was a radio show 2 and 3 years ago with Chad Millman and Bob Scucci called 'Behind the Bets' which just reaffirmed what I thought to be true for the past 20 years (the linemaker handicaps public perception)...oh well, we all believe what we want to believe in the end don't we? BOL to all...

Plus if you are using up to date power ratings, what better one to use than DVOA which shows the up to date relative strengths and weaknesses of all teams using all plays during the current season...and if you do that Baltimore is ranked #3 on offense and #10 on defense and the Rams are ranked #20 on offense and #8 on defense...the overall DVOA ranks Baltimore #2 and LAR #12.

Seems to me that if these power ratings are legit for you then the line should be more than Ravens -3.

Considering what has transpired this past month with that Rams' doo doo offense and Baltimore steamrolling everyone that the public perception would be that the Ravens are supermen. So why the trap line of Ravens -3...oops I forgot, there is no such thing as a trap line.

Also factor in Seattle doesn’t turn the ball over, and not turning the ball over on road games = WINS. Seahawks are 7-1 when they’re underdogs.
