Your odds of winning the game go up marginally going for 2. It’s just a fact. It’s unconventional but it’s not wrong. There are reasons outside of that. If they get it and miraculously score a td they win with a kick and can avoid OT with a vastly superior team. The downside is going for another two point conversion where you make it roughly 50% of the time.

They aren’t relying on a deflected jump ball and a 2  point conversion with seconds left if a game is “fixed”.....Eagles and Doug go for 2 all the time, if you don’t factor shit like that into your capping you’re doing it wrong

OK, here is the math: you need 2 TDs and have 100% on PAT (which is quite generous) and about 50 % on 2PA.

Strategy 1: you kick two PATs and go to OT. Your chances of winning the game is whatever your chances of winning OT are.

Strategy 2: you go for 2 on the first one. If you convert (50%) you obviously kick the second, and if you dont convert you obviously try again for 2 after the 2nd TD. Your chances to win the game sum up as follows:

a.) convert 1st, kick 2nd: that happens 50% of the time and you win 100 % of this scenarios: 0.5 wins

b.) you dont convert both: that happens 25% of the time and you win 0% in these cases: 0 wins

c.) you dont convert on 1st and convert on 2nd: that happens 25% of the time and you win with your OT-win probability. If both teams are evenly strong, thats another .125 wins.

The only time you should NOT follow the 2nd strategy, is if you deem yourself to be an overwhelming favourite in OT. The breakeven point is about 65%. I guess you do not find a 2:1 OT-win-ratio very often in the NFL. So, maybe KC should kick it against the Jets, but thats about it.

Just accept that you clashed with mother nature and lost. Make your peace with it.

 You can use that strategy if there was actually time left on the clock. There was 12 seconds left on the clock. Purposely going for two, is just to piss people off.

That Hail Mary was a fix.  Even if the first Hail Mary didn't work, they had enough time to try two more Hail Mary's as long as all Seattle defenders knew they were not supposed to pick it off.

not counting the final kneel down, they took 4:44 off the clock with 2 first downs on their 2nd from last possession and their last possession they got the ball with 2:15 left and already in short FG range and played it like any team up 11 there would. 

If it was fixed why would the refs call the phantom PI on Maddox with 6 minutes left and then holding on the Eagles on the second to last drive?

Why Pedersen went for 2 is beyond words as was him going for fourth and 2 at own 45 down only 8 and not kicking a fg down 11 on fourth and 4
