They did not plit in 2006.  Giants swept them that year.  And if you are going to look at past trends (which I put little weight on), I think that this trend trumps any trend out there:

The reason why the Giants are so good on the road is that they have a very disciplined coach that can keep his players in check for big road games whether or not they are on national tv.

The Giants are an excellent road team, they have only lost 2 road game in the last 2 years, including playoffs and superbowl.

 

prospect, i agree with you here i think the giants should be able to handle them here, disagree with the trend. see you put little weight into trends tho, as do i, most of them don't really tell you much for the game at hand. i see they are 17-2 in conference on the road but how many of those times have they actually been road favorites?

 l love the Skins in this one.  I'm going to wait to the last min and let the line go as high as possible before I lay down my bet.

 

The Giants are a better team and I dont' know if the Skins will win or not but I do know they have one hell of a D and will be able to keep this one close the entire game.  They also split with the Giants last year but owned them both games and should have easily won both but a crazy 4th quater comeback by the Gmen sealed there fate.  Giants did nothing aganist the skins in the 2nd half week one and the Redskins are a better team now.  Take it to the bank.

Ya, I was just throwing that trend out there for the "trend hookers" that love posting trends and playing off of trends.

However, the trend above does give you a little idea (weight) about how well they play on the road.  And the Giants only having 2 loses in the last 2 years on the road (including playoffs and superbowl) just adds to the idea.

Giants are by far the better team, but my MONEY is on the  Skins +3 (+165) this week.  Watch the Giants turn the ball over this week.

Other DOGS: bold face is a money line play.

Denver +7.5 (+280), St. Louis +8, K.C. +3 (+140), Pitt +1, N.O. +3.5 and even the LIONS +11.  The Titans might have a sleepy let down after lasts weeks loss and have some inner rumblings with RB White and this is the Lions nationally televised Super Bowl.  The Lions +11 (+500) aren't going to cover a game at home?????  Yep, I know they stink, but his is their showcase event right here!  I like the Lions!

Ok, so not in 06...but both seem to take care of each other at HOME and homefield is important in a rivalry matchup..that includes Giants/Cowboys also. 

We all know what the Giants did on the road going back to LY, they are playing lights out. I understand your angle, you don't want to fade the Giants.....in matter of fact, I have won more games with them than I have lost going back to LY when Giants had to beat TB on the road to the SB. I am not touching this game as I am offering input, but I feel Skins could of wipe the floor with the Hawks jersey last week if they wanted to....I am sure the Skins have this game circle on their schedule. I think this is going to be a very close game and if the Giants was to lose another game this season, it would be against the Skins or Cowboys. Those are the only 2 teams that could beat them this season base on their schedule. BOL

Tone it down?  Um, where was my tone.  This is all fun for me.  It seems that you are the only one that is getting huffy puffy.  All I'm doing is replying to comments made here...

Die hard Giants fan here that hasn't missed a play in over 15 years +.  And this line stinks like a big rotten fish. 

Portis is all banged up and Washington has been playing like total crap as of late....while the Giants have been steamrolling teams as of late and scoring over 30 points their last 4 games. 

But the line is only 3.  Hmmmmmm.....even a devoted Giants fan like me sees absolutely no reason why the Giants shouldn't roll here but they won't.  Redskins NEED this win like no other since Dallas won big on Turkey Day if they want to stay in the lead of the wildcard race. 

Bottom line...Giants are spread covering machines this year...but this one's scary to the typical Giants fan.  This line should be at least a TD.

Love the play but didn't agree with your write up. Warner and co put up their numbers against this giants team. The defense wasn't good enough to stop them. However, the Giants Offense is/was much more efficient than Arizonas.

On to this week's game. I think we have the makings of a low scoring(at least from the offenses) football game. THe first game was 16-7, and that was with a big P.I call that got the Giants their only touchdown. The Giants will be able to run the ball. Points will be at a premium(at least from the offenses). The Redskins are going to have minimum success against this Giants defense. They can't score against an above average defense. The track record of this offense speaks for itself. Near the top of the league in points allowed and near the bottom in points scored.

The Giants will get it done when the game is on the line. 17-6 or 17-10 or something like that.
