 Actually Montana and Big Ben were excellent hoopers good enough for D1.But I agree I would  not put them as the same athletic ability as Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders.

The question was Greatest Athlete, while Barry Sanders and Jim Brown are undoubtedly top Running backs and all time greats, I thing the Greatest Athlete goes to versatility and Jim Thorpe as previously Mentioned cetrtainly fits it and Pros like Deon Sanders and Bo Jackson who played two professional sports and did excepetionally well fit that criteria better
