Las Vegas has zero say in the outcome of games. There is much more money at stake for the league to lose if their product was found out to be a fraud than there is a money discrepancy on any one game.
For all you Vegas fix guys, I would love to hear anyone answer these questions: How does a group of corporations, which is what Vegas is now, all get together and conspire with the league, officials, players or teams( any single one or combination of them to fix a game) and absolutely no one has ever spoken of it? In this day and age a secret of that nature is impossible. Somebody would get disgruntled or rat just to be the guy to bring it all to light. This is a whistle lowers dream and someone would have jumped all over it.
I am not naive enough to say that nothing is fixed, I know that it can and does occur throughout the sports world, but read up on the ones that have come to light. They generally start with gamblers or street bookies who also gamble.

Here's your VERY simple answer, no one cares and no one will do anything, the NBA got caught and guess what?? It didn't miss a beat, euro soccer gets caught all the time, Pro sports are not required to be legit it's entertainment, reason why over hit cause there was more money on colts to win... If you notice heavy favs and over doesn't cover often unless there's a busted play that's not accounted for, not every game is fixed but there def is influence depending where the money is, people cry waaa that was a PI on that int but if you know all the money is on the colts they aren't calling that

I give you credit for at least making an attempt where others just went silent, but nothing you said answers the question of how Vegas is involved in a vast conspiracy and how it is possible that it doesnt leak. The NBA scandal, Toledo, San Diego St, Boston College and other American team scandals begin with degenerate gamblers and/or street guys, not Vegas. I know fixes occur, albeit rarer than many people think, just not the Vegas Conspiracy that some want to believe in. That was the only point I trying to make. Best of luck as always.

I can't go on my rant on my iPad but I am a big conspiracy guy when it comes to sports and yes like you said very few games are fixed but many games are what I called "influenced" you just know when there is a heavy fav like tonight all the calls will go against them, unless the fav does what i call game breakers.... Pick 6s bomb plays etc... I know this because I am a square and an Eagles fan and a degen gambler and I was so close to bet on Indy tonight and at the last second I said I will rather lose betting on eagles..

To many insights while the game is still going. One last minute is a long minute when money is on the table. I personal dislike time outs in the red zone, that 1/2 point, and last couple of seconds left on the clock. My bookie lost at a price tag of an S4 prestige on this last second TD. After playing for a while, it is becoming very clear and scary. One example, Tebow at center for Pats in preseason game vs Giants with ten seconds left on the clock (08.29.13). Pats got the ball back after Giants failed on fourth down attempt. First and 9 at Giants 9, Pats leading 21-20 and Giants are out of time outs. Kneeling would make perfect sense and it would be Giants and under in term of line. Tebow to Sims for a 9 yards TD, extra point good. Final Pats and over. Won both ends, that TD made my night. Any one remember that game?

Your dumb. They just set a line where they think is in the middle. Think of all the mlb, nba, nfl, soccer, tennis, golf etc matches on. tens of thousands of matches. Why do they care about losing money on 1 bet of the year.

Vegas doesn't fix games. IF they have fixed any, I'd imagine it's a player gambling who's in the hole and has to repay a favor. But overall, I dont think Vegas fixes games. I think it's players or coaches who fix games. Don't tell me they can't. They CAN gamble on the games. So can referees. Of course this is all under the table because if caught they're history. How easy is it for a receiver to gamble on the game and drop a few passes? Or a QB to throw a col interceptions? A linesman to allow consistent pressure to a QB? A RB to fumble his runs? Answer is: Very easy.
But as far as betting %s go? Funny how the "public" will ALWAYS lose more than they'll EVER take in...

Everyone I've ever met who thinks Vegas influences games is a losing bettor. Never heard it from anyone that wins.
Also, "Vegas" can and has gone broke. The Venetian had to sell their sportsbook operation to a third party because they lost so much to football bettors during the 2011 season.
The public does win. Track a random sample of bets and you will find that the public picks correct slightly more than 50% of the time. Trouble is you have to hit 53% to make money
