@Paal
Lions beat KC in the opener with Kelce and Chris Jones out and not playing and they barely beat them.
Lets say the Lions do shur down mcCaffrey, which, this will be the biggest test by far for the lions.
Then what you ask?
San Fran will pass all over Detroit, because as good as the lions rush defense is, their pass defense is just as bad.
They have allowed over 300 yards passing, and 2 tds in 5 straight games.
San Fran has the most efficient pass offense in the NFL.
TB passed for over 300 against them and lets face it, The lions and TB were 17-17 in the 4th.

Deebo is the big ? here. SF didnt do that well on offense without him. Remove Amon Ra or Cee Dee from Det/Dal and those offenses wont be the same.
SF can rely on CMC but only so much. Purdy has show that he is good but not great.
this boils down to Detroit's offense being good but not great on the road on grass. They tend to struggle a bit the past 2 years and SF defense, while not great, is still good.
Det's defense, especially pass defense, is not that good and can be beaten. QBs have been rolling up lots of passing yards against them including not that great QBs like Mayfield and Mullins. With Deebo, SF will pass all day on Det. Without, it will be tougher and hence closer game.

The Lions allowed Nick Mullins to go 34-46 396 yards passing. 22-36 for 411 yards.
The only decent Running team the lions faced was the Ravens, who ran all over them.
Glad you think Mccaffrey is just like everyone else

McCaffrey is not the best RB Detroit will face all year?
The Lions pass defense is not awful?
Nick Mullins, a product of the 49ers system, LIT up the Lions twice.
Who is the one dreaming?

lions just don't scare anyone I know I have no problem laying pts against them. imagine though if lions won and ravens and lions met in super bowl lol easy ravens bet

@Aaaand-Its-Gone
I definitely get that. I by no means am saying you or anyone is wrong for liking the 9ers.. they’re stacked man.. I think the word “miracle” is a bit heavy is all… a 15 point dog who squeaked in, knocking off a one seed, now that’s maybe a “miracle”… but a team with the same record, whom hasn’t lost back to back games in over a year, been favored in majority of their games, that’s 22-7 over it last 29 games.. wouldn’t be a miracle. Detroit is definitely going to need to play a more perfect game than San Fran.. but not a miracle

Absolutely it is not. I would simply look at the last 5/6/7 games and especially their Pass Defense and Pass Rush numbers.
McCaffrey is not the best RB Detroit will face all year?
He does have a good point. DET has done very well holding RBs down. The teams with a running QB, like CH and BLT gave them some problems -- Purdy is not a running QB.

This is incorrect by most efficiency numbers.
I am not saying that DET cannot get beat or even blown out. I am simply saying the efficiency numbers are not that big of a disparity. And down the stretch a lot of DET numbers were better. That certainly does not mean DET can maintain that level or that SF will not finally play to the level people think they can play at.
I just think a lot of folks are overrating SF and underrating DET. It may come down to it being a game where SF has a great gameplan to get their skill players in good matchup situations and SF starts playing better on Defense, especially on the Run Defense -- which was very weak the last few games.
If it is a close game and if SF cannot stop the DET rushing game and allows Goff time to get on track -- it could be a very close game.

Brock Purdy is Number 1 in QB rating. Thats pass efficiency.
Nick Mullins threw for over 11 yards per attempt against this Lions defense. That beyond abysmal.

@ Raiders22 You serve up a lot of great points which leads to me saying the Lions will play their best game of the season. C J Garner-Johnson is playing only his third game of the season since being knocked out in the second game of the year against the Seahawks he did lead the NFL in interceptions last year with the Eagles and got his first against the Bucs last week I think he has knocked the rust off and will be a huge part of the secondary in this game with Branch.

Brock Purdy is Number 1 in QB rating. Thats pass efficiency.
It is not a very complete efficiency indicator -- it is more of a broad overall number that credits totals more than efficiency.
Absolutely, Purdy can pile on the numbers when his team is killing another team.
I like Purdy and am not taking anything from him; I am simply saying he is not the most efficient QB in situational football this year.
But he is very good.

It is a complete stat. its the MOST complete stat, as its evaluates your overall efficiency, not situational. its the true gauge of an overall passing offense.
Not to say there are not situations where Purdy is awful.
