if the refs really had the fix in, they would have not gave rodgers that 1st and goal on the 1 yard line. Because GB would have had to kick the field goal and would have probably won 9-7 with the seahwaks still covering.

That play would have been so easy to uphold because it was called short on the field. So they needed indisputable evidence to give them a 1st down.

You cant fix a game on a last minute hail mary dual possesion catch. There were a ton of bad calls on BOTH sides of the ball all game.

That td catch didnt cost GB the game. GB's playcalling and refusal to run the ball in the 1st half cost GB the game.

Even Donahay admits that he always fixed games for totals by calling lots of fouls and leading to lot's of FT's (while no time runs off the clock).  In NFL, I would think that the O/U philosphy would also be easier to manage than fixing a side.

What do you call if you are the back judge (trying to fix the game) on a blown coverage 80 yard pass play?  You can't - if no one covered him, then you have very limited options to negate the big play.  You would need colusion from your Umpire or the Referee to call Off. Hold to negate the play. Too hard. 

Best you can do is what Donahay did - influence one aspect of the game that will allow for more of one thing to happen to acheive a totals play.

I agree with the folks that state fixing is too hard for a team sport with this many officials.  You would need a lot of collusion, and someone would rat eventually.

Of course, I had Seattle +3.5 large last night...
