Why isn't there some sharp dude with a boatload of money hammering this line until kingdom come?
If NE -3 is really that much of a gift where NE backers think the line is up to 3 points off, wouldn't it be getting pounded into oblivion? It doesn't make sense. Sure, there are some big boy bets on Atlanta to counter the overall action, but if the line really gave that much value, especially to the most successful football team of the modern era, surely there would be enough money being bet to overcome the Atlanta money and move the line?
The greatest coach/QB combo in the history of Pro Football is being given a line that is 3 points off yet there is not enough money to move the line? That cannot be true. If it were true, there would be someone willing to risk more than seven figures on this game. From a pure investment perspective, if there were that much value, again sorry to repeat myself, and that value comes from backing THE MOST RIDICULOUSLY SUCCESSFUL COACH/QB DUO POSSIBLY IN THE HISTORY OF SPORTS INVOLVING A BALL, someone would have to invest in it. It would be too good of an investment to not take chance at.
Are the big Atlanta bettors really that insane? Have the linesmakers lost their minds?
I refuse to believe that there are enough Atlanta backers willing to risk six figure wagers on a team that should in reality be getting 3 more points on the spread, that they would be able to counter the action from NE backers who see 3 points of value. The betting markets would not allow that to happen, its just economics.
Or is this what happens when you become a whale? That six figure amounts matters so little to you that you would bet against Brady and Belichik on what appears to be an unfavorable line?
It would be one thing if it were just a few rich idiots who didn't know anything about football and just wanted some action on Atlanta, but its the linesmakers as well who believed that even before any money was placed that a line of +3/-3 was correct.
If there is truly 3 points of value on the NE side, the books know Atlanta will cover. If the game should actually be a FG either way, then I'm still confused.

So you really think Ryan cares about Brady wanting to win because
of Goddell's benching of him, I think not, Ryan wants to win because
he thinks he can, And he will.
This is the first time in his life Ryan has been a winner, up to this point. It's a lot to trust my friend. They played a very bad Seattle team and an out of gas GB team, both at their house. I may have to pay to see Matty choke beat me. Again, he's never been a winner before, probably won't get another chance to be one either. GL

i think the books are too scared to be giving any more points the falcons
This is my point though. Why are they scared? I don't think its because that extra half point or full point will make a difference in who covers the game or not, it's because they don't want to make Atlanta more attractive, thus attracting more money on Atlanta, because they know somehow that Atlanta will cover.
In terms of the actual "power rating" or "handicapping differential" between the teams I don't think a half point to Atlanta really changes much. NE should still be more than -3 point favorite.

They have equal money on each side, when is Vegas EVER SCARED? I think you are imagining things. There are a lot of dumb Atlanta backers thinking +3 is a gift, sounds like I might need to lump you in with them.

Are there many/any books that accept 7 figure bets? I thought it was more in the 50-100k max range, 7 figures is a big leap from there. It is not that hard to balance bets/lines when you minimize the amount wagered.
Bookies/Vegas/Linesmakers do not alter lines based on potential big bets coming in. They adjust the lines based on action. This game opened as a PK and moved to Patriots -3 and stayed there. The vig has fluctuated but keeps getting pushed down to -110 due to Atlanta money.

i think its not that vegas is scared, but maybe they think after taking some "hits from the public " here and there, maybe the prudent decision is in this particular spot is to just call it a season and accumulate the juice because they aren't conclusive on what to do with the game?

They screwed up posting the line at -3 to begin with and realized it afterwards but didn't want to show their hand by moving the line early on,hoping and thinking the betting public would over think it brainwashing Atlanta betters into thinking the +3 was plenty of value to begin with, for such a powerful offensive Falcon team.I'm surprised that the line wasn't higher to begin with and that it hasn't moved yet either.Or maybe the books think the Ref's & the NFL / Goddell will be on Atlanta's side with plenty of calls sticking it to BB,TB and the Patriots ? who knows??? I see Brady & the Patriot's winning by 7 points or more as long as the Ref's don't get in the way!

Atlanta 1h. If/when the Pats experience adv. takes an effect, it will be down the stretch of the 2h. Atlanta will be all fury early, and the experienced Pats will be content to absorb it (as they always do; since when do they ever choose to receive the ball first?) and pounce when their opponent's initial enthusiasm/bluster starts to wear down (in the 2h).

Atlanta will win in a blowout. The only reason the linesmakers have New England listed as a small favorite is to give a perception that the Pats are better, which they aren't. Lots of clowns will put money on the Gronkless Pats and the dink and dunk quarterback Brady, only to see on Sunday they've been swindled. Atlanta wins by at least 3 touchdowns. Matt Ryan has big pass play capability which Brady lacks. The Pats have no running game.

This is a complex issue ......... I'm pretty sure casinos trade amongst each other to equal out distribution of the game
For example Casino A : Takes most money in on Patriots ...ML and Spread
Casino B : gets hit with large future wagers on Atlanta and Atlanta + 3
Now casino B call up Casino A to even out distribution guaranteeing a profit for both casinos.

Umm, no. that is why they each set their own lines. There are multiple casinos owned by the same owner, but I don't think that is what you are talking about.

You know how many times I've seen an obvious winner but half of people or more still had money on other side!!??? That's how Vegas makes money. Very few are good at this. Vegas know that. That's why they are in biz.
Btw, not saying Patriots are lock, just sharing an example from games that have been played in past.
