i've never been to sure of which way i feel. ncaa OT is too easy to score, so i like the idea of defense. but you can't argue the numbers in favor of the winner of the toss. i think a 10 or 15 minute extra period OT would be well suited for the nfl
I'm thinking that the winner of the toss has the option of starting on their own 15-yard line...that would present a serious decision whether to start on offense or defense and eliminate the goofy crap that can occur on kickoffs.

THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD GO..COLTS KICKED OFF SD SCORED THEN THE CHARGERS SHOULD HAVE TO KICK OFF TO GIVE THE COLTS A CHANCE..IF SD DOESNT SCORE THEY STILL SHOULD KICK OFF....THE NCAA IS TO EASY...BOTH TEAMS SHOULD KICK OFF

The game is played on both sides of the ball.If Indy's defenseccouldn't stop them they don't deserve to win.Defense is part of football.Indy has only themseleves to blame they didn't play well.

It was fixed..... Notice the ref only flips the coin after they call heads or tails...Maybe there were two tails on that coin...Just giving back to the chargers for fucking up earlier in the year!
Take it easy, I'm kidding.
I think it would make for a better game if both had a chance to score. I did have Chargers. But, in the end I want to see a great game and both teams getting posession would give more opportunity for that.

how is the college system better? at what point in any game do you just place the ball on the 25 yard line? it takes aspects of the game completely out of the eqation. punting kicking off. both systems are severley flawed and need to be changed.

Colts backers quit bitching about OT rules. I had Indy and loss. You wanted Manning to have the ball he did and only needed 2 yards to win the game. Instead they go empty backfield and take a sack. terrible play calling. If you can't get 2 yards you don't deserve to win the game.

Did anyone else hear Ron Winter say "that is the 4th team timeout for San Diego"? I'm not saying that the clock shouldn't have stopped for the injury, and it didn't impact the outcome at all. I just thought that was funny to hear.

Something similar to the college system would be better IMO. Simply because some teams just don't have the D to even out if they lose the initial toss. So in essence it is kinda unbalanced. Really though where would each team start their posession to make it unbalanced, the 50, NFL kickers can kick 60 yrd FG's. Lets get a NCAAF Playoff system then we'll worry about this
