Yeah, that whole Browns situation is like the most Browns thing ever. If they bring in Watson on a one year deal. QB competition going into camp kind of thing, I still wouldn't agree with it, but I could make sense of it. They could spin the narrative all sorts of ways. They could say he was an insurance policy. That Baker is the incumbent starter. And if Watson so happened to best him out in camp, so be it. Giving Watson that contract though, with so many questions swirling, what good could it do? Alienate Baker. Push him away. Leave your franchise hamstrung. Are there stipulations and incentives in that deal? How is it structured?

I look forward to watching the Browns' meltdown in 2022...sports are what soap operas (telenovelas) are to women.
What juicier soap is there then a team that might start a QB who openly despises ownership and management? Perhaps the Browns will start Brisset? But who is to say that the league will even punish Watson?
These are all civil suits not criminal ones...18 of the 21 (originals) were willing to settle for 100 K and Watson turned it down...are those the actions of one who is repentant? Goodell isn't exactly the person you want judging morality...IMO. Now the cases are up to 23?

Yes. I hear the cases are up. But I am not sure repentant is the correct word. Maybe guilty is. But if I am not guilty and I feel we both agreed on something — I am not going to feel repentant and I am not going to pay 100k to anyone. However, if I felt guilty about something immoral or illegal — maybe I would pay to keep it quiet and/or to prevent getting in trouble with NFL. But now I’m in trouble either way with NFL — so for sure I am not paying them a dime more. I will take my chances with NFL. Maybe they say I violated conduct clause but nothing really illegal. I dunno.
As far as Mayfield is concerned — trade him now! While people still seem to think he is good and worth something. His numbers that matter have been awful! Maybe a change of teams will be good for him. He certainly cannot play for them now — knowing they don’t want him. He seems a nice enough guy and has talent. But he needs a lot of work to me. He is exactly who people think Jimmy G is. His efficiency numbers are nowhere near what people would think they are.
I know that it is Cleveland — but this was handled just as bad as the 49er situation has been. GMs and coaches have to realize the situation they put their potential QB in and the team itself when they show absolutely no confidence in them. That is one position where you need to instill confidence and not have your QB looking over his shoulder after any bad play at all.
